Nehemiah 11

1 The leaders of the people took up residence in Jerusalem, and the rest of the people cast lots to bring one man in ten to reside in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the other nine would remain in the other cities.	1 Старшини народу жили в Єрусалимі; решта ж народу кинули жереб, щоб один із десятьох ішов жити в Єрусалим, святе місто, а дев’ять десятих зоставалося в інших містах.
2 The people applauded all those men who willingly agreed to take up residence in Jerusalem.	2 Народ благословив усіх, що самохіть погодилися жити в Єрусалимі.
3 These are the heads of the province who took up residence in Jerusalem. (In the cities of Judah dwelt lay Israelites, priests, Levites, temple slaves, and the descendants of the slaves of Solomon, each man on the property he owned in his own city.)	3 А ось голови областей, що жили в Єрусалимі — бо в містах Юдеї кожний жив у своїй посілості, в своїх містах: ізраїльтяни, священики, левіти, нетінеї й сини слуг Соломона.
4 In Jerusalem dwelt both Judahites and Benjaminites. Of the Judahites: Athaiah, son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mehallalel, of the sons of Perez;	4 В Єрусалимі жили з синів Юди та з синів Веніямина. З синів Юди: Атая, син Уззії, сина Захарії, сина Амарії, сина Шефатії, сина Магалалела, з синів Переца;
5 Maaseiah, son of Baruch, son of Colhozeh, son of Hazaiah, son of Adaiah, son of Joiarib, son of Zechariah, a son of the Shelanites.	5 і Масея, син Варуха, сина Кол-Хозе, сина Хазаї, сина Адаї, сина Йоаріва, сина Захарії, сина Шелонія;
6 The total of the sons of Perez who dwelt in Jerusalem was four hundred and sixty-eight valiant men.	6 всіх синів Переца, що жили в Єрусалимі, 468 мужів хоробрих.
7 These were the Benjaminites: Sallu, son of Meshullam, son of Joed, son of Pedaiah, son of Kolaiah, son of Maaseiah, son of Ithiel, son of Jeshaiah,	7 А ось сини Веніямина: Саллу, син Мешуллама, сина Йоеди, сина Педаї, сина Колаї, сина Масеї, сина Ітієла, сина Ісаї;

9 Joel, son of Zichri, was their commander, and Judah, son of Hassenuah, was second in charge of the city.	9 Йоіл, син Зіхрі, був їхнім начальником, а Юда, син Гассенуа, був другим над містом.

15 Among the Levites were Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, son of Bunni;	15 З левітів же: Шемая, син Хашува, син Азрікама, сина Хашавії, сина Буні;
16 Shabbethai and Jozabad, levitical chiefs who were placed over the external affairs of the house of God;	16 Шаветай і Йозавад, з головних левітів, призначений до зовнішньої служби дому Божого;
17 Mattaniah, son of Micah, son of Zabdi, son of Asaph, director of the psalms, who led the thanksgiving at prayer; Bakbukiah, second in rank among his brethren; and Abda, son of Shammua, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun.	17 Маттанія, син Міхи, син Завді, сина Асафа, був провідником, що проводив пісні славословлення для молитви; Бакбукія, другий з його братів, й Авда, син Шаммуа, сина Галала, сина Єдутуна.
18 The total of the Levites in the holy city was two hundred and eighty-four.	18 Усіх левітів у святому місті 284.
19 The gatekeepers were Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren, who kept watch over the gates; one hundred and seventy-two in number.	19 Воротарі: Аккув, Талмон і їхні брати, що стерегли брами, 172.
20 The rest of Israel, including priests and Levites, were in all the other cities of Judah, each man in his inheritance.	20 Решта ж ізраїльтян, священиків, левітів жили по всіх містах Юдеї, кожен у своїй спадщині.
21 The temple slaves lived on Ophel. Ziha and Gishpa were in charge of the temple slaves.	21 Нетінеї ж жили на Офелі; Ціха й Гішпа були над нетінеями.
22 The prefect of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi, son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micah; he was one of the sons of Asaph, the singers appointed to the service of the house of God--	22 Начальником же левітів у Єрусалимі був Уззій, син Бані, сина Хашавії, сина Маттанії, сина Міхи, з синів Асафа, співців, при службі в домі Божому,
23 for they had been appointed by royal decree, and there was a fixed schedule for the singers assigning them their daily duties.	23 бо був наказ царя щодо них і встановлене забезпечення для співців на кожний день.
24 Pethahiah, son of Meshezabel, a descendant of Zerah, son of Judah, was royal deputy in all affairs that concerned the people.	24 Петахія, син Мешезавела, з синів Зераха, сина Юди, був відпоручником царя в усіх справах щодо народу.
25 As concerns their villages in the country: Judahites lived in Kiriath-arba and its dependencies, in Dibon and its dependencies, in Jekabzeel and its villages,	25 Щождо сіл та їхніх піль, то деякі сини Юди жили в Кіріят-Арбі та в приналежних до неї містечках; у Дівоні й в приналежних до нього містечках; в Єкавцелі та його селах;
26 in Jeshua, Moladah, Beth-pelet,	26 в Єшуї, в Моладі, в Бет-Пелеті,
27 in Hazarshual, in Beer-sheba and its dependencies,	27 в Хацар-Шуалі, в Версавії й в приналежних до неї містечках;
28 in Ziklag, in Meconah and its dependencies,	28 в Ціклазі, в Мехоні й в приналежних до неї містечках;
29 in En-rimmon, Zorah, Jarmuth,	29 в Ен-Ріммоні, в Цорі, в Ярмуті,
30 Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its countryside, Azekah and its dependencies. They were settled from Beer-sheba to Ge-hinnom.	30 в Заноаху, в Адулламі й їхніх селах; в Лахіші та на його полях: в Азеці й приналежних до неї містечках. Вони осілись від Версавії до Гінном-долини.
31 Benjaminites were in Geba, Michmash, Aija, Bethel and its dependencies,	31 Сини ж Веніямина мешкали в Геві, Міхмасі, Айї, Бетелі й приналежних до нього містечках:
32 Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,	32 в Анатоті, Нові, Ананії,
33 Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,	33 в Хацорі, Рамі, Гіттаїмі,
34 Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,	34 в Хадіді, Цевоїмі, Неваллаті,
35 Lod, Ono, and the Valley of the Artisans.	35 в Лоді, Оно й долині Ремісників.
36 Some sections of the Levites from Judah settled in Benjamin.	36 А з левітів деякі частини належали до Юди та Веніямина.
