1 King David then said to the whole assembly: "My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and immature; the work, however, is great, for this castle is not intended for man, but for the LORD God.	1 Il re Davide disse a tutta l'assemblea: "Salomone, mio figlio, il solo che Dio abbia scelto, è ancora giovane e debole, mentre l'impresa è grandiosa, perché non si tratta di una fortezza destinata a un uomo, ma al Signore Dio.
2 For this reason I have stored up for the house of my God, as far as I was able, gold for what will be made of gold, silver for what will be made of silver, bronze for what will be made of bronze, iron for what will be made of iron, wood for what will be made of wood, onyx stones and settings for them, carnelian and mosaic stones, every other kind of precious stone, and great quantities of marble.	2 Secondo le mie forze ho preparato per il tempio del mio Dio oro su oro, argento su argento, bronzo su bronzo, ferro su ferro, legname su legname, onici, brillanti, topazi, pietre di vario valore, pietre preziose e marmo bianco in gran quantità.
3 But now, because of the delight I take in the house of my God, in addition to all that I stored up for the holy house, I give to the house of my God my personal fortune in gold and silver:	3 Inoltre, per il mio amore verso il tempio del mio Dio, quanto possiedo in oro e argento dono al tempio del mio Dio, in più di tutto ciò che ho preparato per il tempio santo:

5 for the various utensils to be made of gold and silver, and for every work that is to be done by artisans. 6 Then the heads of the families, the leaders of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the overseers of the king's affairs came forward willingly	6 Allora i capifamiglia, i capi delle tribù d'Israele, i capi di migliaia, di centinaia e i dirigenti degli affari del re fecero delle offerte volontarie
7 and contributed for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.	7 e diedero per l'opera del tempio del Signore cinquemila talenti d'oro, diecimila darici, diecimila talenti d'argento, diciottomila talenti di bronzo e centomila talenti di ferro.
8 Those who had precious stones gave them into the keeping of Jehiel the Gershonite for the treasury of the house of the LORD.	8 Quanti si trovarono possessori di pietre preziose, le consegnarono nelle mani di Iechièl, il ghersonita, per deporle nel tesoro del tempio del Signore.
9 The people rejoiced over these free-will offerings, which had been contributed to the LORD wholeheartedly. King David also rejoiced greatly.	9 Il popolo si rallegrò per la loro liberalità, perché con cuore puro avevano fatto le loro offerte volontarie al Signore, e anche il re Davide ne ebbe una grande gioia.
10 Then David blessed the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, praying in these words: "Blessed may you be, O LORD, God of Israel our father, from eternity to eternity.	10 Davide benedisse il Signore al cospetto di tutta l'assemblea esclamando: "Benedetto sei tu, Signore, Dio d'Israele, nostro padre, per tutta l'eternità!
11 "Yours, O LORD, are grandeur and power, majesty, splendor, and glory. For all in heaven and on earth is yours; yours, O LORD, is the sovereignty; you are exalted as head over all.	11 Tua, o Signore, è la grandezza, la potenza, la gloria, l'eternità, lo splendore, perché tuo è tutto ciò che si trova nel cielo e sulla terra. Tuo, Signore, è il regno e tu t'innalzi sovranamente al di sopra di ogni cosa.
12 "Riches and honor are from you, and you have dominion over all. In your hand are power and might; it is yours to give grandeur and strength to all.	12 Da te vengono la ricchezza e la gloria; tu domini tutto; nella tua mano sono la potenza e la forza; tu hai il potere di rendere grande e potente ogni cosa.
13 Therefore, our God, we give you thanks and we praise the majesty of your name."	13 Ora, Dio nostro, noi ti celebriamo e lodiamo il tuo nome glorioso.
14 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should have the means to contribute so freely? For everything is from you, and we only give you what we have received from you.	14 E chi sono io e chi è il mio popolo, che siamo in grado di offrirti questi doni volontari? Tutto viene da te e dopo averlo ricevuto dalla tua mano, te l'abbiamo ridato.
15 For we stand before you as aliens: we are only your guests, like all our fathers. Our life on earth is like a shadow that does not abide.	15 Difatti noi siamo stranieri davanti a te e pellegrini come tutti i nostri padri. I nostri giorni sulla terra sono come ombra e non c'è speranza.
16 O LORD our God, all this wealth that we have brought together to build you a house in honor of your holy name comes from you and is entirely yours.	16 Signore, nostro Dio, tutto quanto abbiamo preparato per costruire un tempio a te, cioè al tuo santo nome, viene da te, tutto è tuo.
17 I know, O my God, that you put hearts to the test and that you take pleasure in uprightness. With a sincere heart I have willingly given all these things, and now with joy I have seen your people here present also giving to you generously.	17 So, mio Dio, che tu scruti i cuori e ami la rettitudine. Nella sincerità del mio cuore io ho offerto spontaneamente tutte queste cose. Ora vedo il tuo popolo, che si trova qui presente, presentarti con gioia le sue offerte spontanee.
18 O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep such thoughts in the hearts and minds of your people forever, and direct their hearts toward you.	18 Signore, Dio di Abramo, d'Isacco e d'Israele, nostri padri, conserva per sempre questo sentimento nel cuore del tuo popolo. Dirigi i loro cuori verso di te.
19 Give to my son Solomon a wholehearted desire to keep your commandments, precepts, and statutes, that he may carry out all these plans and build the castle for which I have made preparation."	19 A Salomone, mio figlio, dona un cuore integro per osservare i tuoi comandamenti, i tuoi precetti e i tuoi statuti, e li metta tutti in pratica e costruisca l'edificio per il quale ho fatto i preparativi".
20 Then David besought the whole assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God!" And the whole assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, bowing down and prostrating themselves before the LORD and before the king.	20 Poi Davide disse a tutta l'assemblea: "Benedite, dunque, il Signore, vostro Dio". Tutta l'assemblea benedisse il Signore, Dio dei loro padri, si inchinarono e si prostrarono davanti al Signore e al re.
21 On the following day they offered sacrifices and holocausts to the LORD, a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, together with their libations and many other sacrifices for all Israel;	21 Quindi immolarono sacrifici al Signore e il giorno seguente offrirono olocausti al Signore: mille giovenchi, mille arieti, mille agnelli con le relative libazioni e altri sacrifici in gran numero per tutto Israele.
22 and on that day they ate and drank in the LORD'S presence with great rejoicing. Then for a second time they proclaimed David's son Solomon king, and they anointed him as the LORD'S prince, and Zadok as priest.	22 In quel giorno mangiarono e bevvero al cospetto del Signore con grande gioia. Di nuovo proclamarono re Salomone, figlio di Davide, e unsero lui come principe per il Signore e Zadòk come sacerdote.
23 Thereafter Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David; he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.	23 Salomone sedette sul trono del Signore come re al posto di Davide, suo padre. Ebbe successo e tutto Israele gli obbedì.
24 All the leaders and warriors, and also all the other sons of King David, swore allegiance to King Solomon.	24 Tutti i capi, i prodi e anche tutti i figli del re Davide si sottomisero al re Salomone.
25 And the LORD exalted Solomon greatly in the eyes of all Israel, giving him a glorious reign such as had not been enjoyed by any king over Israel before him.	25 Il Signore rese assai grande Salomone al cospetto di tutto Israele e gli diede una maestà regale che prima di lui non ebbe alcun re in Israele.
26 Thus David, the son of Jesse, had reigned over all Israel.	26 Davide, figlio di Iesse, aveva regnato su tutto Israele.
27 The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem thirty-three.	27 Il tempo che regnò su Israele fu di quarant'anni: a Ebron regnò sette anni e in Gerusalemme regnò trentatré anni.
28 He died at a ripe old age, rich in years and wealth and glory, and his son Solomon succeeded him as king.	28 Morì in prospera vecchiezza, sazio di giorni, di ricchezza e di gloria. Al suo posto divenne re Salomone.
29 Now the deeds of King David, first and last, can be found written in the history of Samuel the seer, the history of Nathan the prophet, and the history of Gad the seer,	29 Le gesta del re Davide, le prime come le ultime, ecco, si trovano scritte negli atti del veggente Samuele, negli atti del profeta Natan e negli atti del veggente Gad,
