1 King David then said to the whole assembly: "My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and immature; the work, however, is great, for this castle is not intended for man, but for the LORD God.	1 El rey David dijo a toda la asamblea: «Mi hijo Salomón, el único elegido por Dios, es todavía joven e inexperto, mientras que la obra es grande, porque este palacio no es para los hombres, sino para Dios.
2 For this reason I have stored up for the house of my God, as far as I was able, gold for what will be made of gold, silver for what will be made of silver, bronze for what will be made of bronze, iron for what will be made of iron, wood for what will be made of wood, onyx stones and settings for them, carnelian and mosaic stones, every other kind of precious stone, and great quantities of marble.	2 Por eso, con todas mis fuerzas he preparado para la Casa de mi Dios, oro para los objetos de oro, plata para los de plata, bronce para los de bronce, hierro para los de hierro, madera para los de madera; y también, piedras de ónix y de engaste, piedras brillantes y de varios colores, piedras preciosas de toda clase y alabastro en abundancia.
3 But now, because of the delight I take in the house of my God, in addition to all that I stored up for the holy house, I give to the house of my God my personal fortune in gold and silver:	3 Más aún, lo que yo poseo personalmente en oro y plata, lo entrego por amor a la Casa de mi Dios, además de todo lo que he preparado para el Templo santo:
4 three thousand talents of Ophir gold, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the rooms,	4 tres mil talentos de oro, en oro de Ofir, y siete mil talentos de plata finísima para recubrir las paredes de los edificios
5 for the various utensils to be made of gold and silver, and for every work that is to be done by artisans. Now, who else is willing to contribute generously this day to the LORD?"	5 y para hacer los objetos de oro y plata y todas las obras de orfebrería. ¿Quién de ustedes esta dispuesto a ofrecer sus dones al Señor con la misma generosidad?».
6 Then the heads of the families, the leaders of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the overseers of the king's affairs came forward willingly	6 Entonces los jefes de familia, los jefes de las tribus de Israel, los jefes de mil y de cien hombres, y los encargados de las obras del rey, entregaron espontáneamente sus ofrendas,
7 and contributed for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.	7 y dieron para el servicio de la Casa de Dios cinco mil talentos de oro, diez mil dáricos, diez mil talentos de plata, dieciocho mil talentos de bronce y cien mil talentos de hierro.
8 Those who had precious stones gave them into the keeping of Jehiel the Gershonite for the treasury of the house of the LORD.	8 Los que tenían piedras preciosas, las entregaron en manos de Iejiel, el gersonita, para el tesoro de la Casa del Señor.
9 The people rejoiced over these free-will offerings, which had been contributed to the LORD wholeheartedly. King David also rejoiced greatly.	9 El pueblo se alegró por estas ofrendas voluntarias, porque las habían presentado al Señor de todo corazón. Y también el rey David se llenó de alegría.
10 Then David blessed the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, praying in these words: "Blessed may you be, O LORD, God of Israel our father, from eternity to eternity.	10 Después David bendijo al Señor en presencia de toda la asamblea, diciendo: «¡Bendito seas, Señor, Dios de nuestro padre Israel, desde siempre y para siempre!
11 "Yours, O LORD, are grandeur and power, majesty, splendor, and glory. For all in heaven and on earth is yours; yours, O LORD, is the sovereignty; you are exalted as head over all.	11 Tuya, Señor, es la grandeza, la fuerza, la gloria, el esplendor y la majestad; porque a ti pertenece todo lo que hay en el cielo y en la tierra. Tuyo, Señor, es el reino; tú te elevas por encima de todo.
12 "Riches and honor are from you, and you have dominion over all. In your hand are power and might; it is yours to give grandeur and strength to all.	12 De ti proceden la riqueza y la gloria; tú lo gobiernas todo, en tu mano están el poder y la fuerza, es tu mano la que engrandece y afianza todas las cosas.
13 Therefore, our God, we give you thanks and we praise the majesty of your name."	13 Por eso, Dios nuestro, te damos gracias y alabamos tu Nombre glorioso.
14 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should have the means to contribute so freely? For everything is from you, and we only give you what we have received from you.	14 Porque ¿quién soy yo y quién es mi pueblo, para que podamos presentarte estas ofrendas voluntarias? En realidad, todo viene de ti y de tu mano procede lo que te damos.
15 For we stand before you as aliens: we are only your guests, like all our fathers. Our life on earth is like a shadow that does not abide.	15 Nosotros somos extranjeros y peregrinos delante de ti, como lo fueron nuestros padres: nuestros días sobre la tierra pasan como una sombra, sin esperanza.
16 O LORD our God, all this wealth that we have brought together to build you a house in honor of your holy name comes from you and is entirely yours.	16 Señor, Dios nuestro, todas estas riquezas que hemos preparado para edificar una Casa a tu santo Nombre, proceden de tu mano y todo es tuyo.
17 I know, O my God, that you put hearts to the test and that you take pleasure in uprightness. With a sincere heart I have willingly given all these things, and now with joy I have seen your people here present also giving to you generously.	17 Yo sé, Dios mío, que tú sondeas el corazón y amas la rectitud: por eso, con rectitud de corazón, te he ofrecido espontáneamente todas estas cosas, y ahora veo con alegría que el pueblo aquí presente te ofrece sus dones generosamente.
18 O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep such thoughts in the hearts and minds of your people forever, and direct their hearts toward you.	18 Señor, Dios de nuestros padres Abraham, Isaac e Israel, conserva para siempre estos mismos pensamientos en el corazón de tu pueblo y dirige su corazón hacia ti.
19 Give to my son Solomon a wholehearted desire to keep your commandments, precepts, and statutes, that he may carry out all these plans and build the castle for which I have made preparation."	19 Concede a mi hijo Salomón un corazón íntegro, para que observe y cumpla todos tus mandamientos, tus testimonios y tus leyes, y edifique el Templo que yo te he preparado».
20 Then David besought the whole assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God!" And the whole assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, bowing down and prostrating themselves before the LORD and before the king.	20 Después David dijo a toda la asamblea: «¡Bendigan al Señor, su Dios!». Y toda la asamblea bendijo al Señor, el Dios de sus padres, y se postró delante del Señor y del rey.
21 On the following day they offered sacrifices and holocausts to the LORD, a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, together with their libations and many other sacrifices for all Israel;	21 Al día siguiente ofrecieron sacrificios y holocaustos al Señor: mil novillos, mil carneros y mil corderos, con sus libaciones, y un gran número de sacrificios por todo Israel.
22 and on that day they ate and drank in the LORD'S presence with great rejoicing. Then for a second time they proclaimed David's son Solomon king, and they anointed him as the LORD'S prince, and Zadok as priest.	22 Aquel día, comieron y bebieron con gran alegría en la presencia del Señor. Luego proclamaron como segundo rey a Salomón, hijo de David, y lo ungieron como príncipe del Señor. Sadoc fue ungido como sacerdote.
23 Thereafter Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David; he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.	23 Salomón se sentó como rey en el trono del Señor, en lugar de su padre David. El prosperó y todo Israel le obedeció.
24 All the leaders and warriors, and also all the other sons of King David, swore allegiance to King Solomon.	24 Todos los jefes y guerreros, lo mismo que todos los hijos del rey David, juraron fidelidad al rey Salomón.
25 And the LORD exalted Solomon greatly in the eyes of all Israel, giving him a glorious reign such as had not been enjoyed by any king over Israel before him.	25 El Señor engrandeció sobremanera a Salomón a los ojos de todo Israel, y le concedió un reinado glorioso como nunca había tenido ningún otro rey de Israel antes de él.
26 Thus David, the son of Jesse, had reigned over all Israel.	26 David, hijo de Jesé, había reinado sobre todo Israel.
27 The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem thirty-three.	27 Cuarenta años duró su reinado sobre Israel. Reinó siete años en Hebrón y treinta y tres en Jerusalén.
28 He died at a ripe old age, rich in years and wealth and glory, and his son Solomon succeeded him as king.	28 Murió después de una dichosa vejez, lleno de años, de riqueza y de gloria, y le sucedió su hijo Salomón.
29 Now the deeds of King David, first and last, can be found written in the history of Samuel the seer, the history of Nathan the prophet, and the history of Gad the seer,	29 Los hechos del rey David, desde el primero hasta el último, están escritos en las Crónicas de Samuel, el vidente, en las de Natán, el profeta, y en las de Gad, el vidente,
30 together with the particulars of his reign and valor, and of the events that affected him and all Israel and all the kingdoms of the surrounding lands.	30 con todo lo referente a su reinado y a sus hazañas, y a las vicisitudes que le sobrevinieron a él, a Israel y a todos los reinos de aquellas regiones.
