1 In the four hundred and eightieth year from the departure of the Israelites from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, the construction of the temple of the LORD was begun.	1 У 480 році по виході синів Ізраїля з Єгипетської землі, у четвертому році царювання Соломона над Ізраїлем, у місяці Зів, що є другим місяцем року, почав Соломон будувати храм Господеві.
2 The temple which King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty wide, and twenty-five high.	2 А храм, що його збудував цар Соломон Господеві, був 60 ліктів завдовжки, 20 ліктів завширшки і 30 ліктів заввишки.
3 The porch in front of the temple was twenty cubits from side to side, along the width of the nave, and ten cubits deep in front of the temple.	3 Притвір, що був перед «святим» храму, був 20 ліктів завдовжки, по ширині храму, й 10 завширшки, по довжині храму.
4 Splayed windows with trellises were made for the temple,	4 І поробив у храмі ґратовані лійкуваті вікна.
5 and adjoining the wall of the temple, which enclosed the nave and the sanctuary, an annex of several stories was built.	5 Він поставив до стін храму прибудову з поверхами, що йшла навколо стін храму, навкруги святого й всесвятого, і поробив світлиці навколо.
6 Its lowest story was five cubits wide, the middle one six cubits wide, the third seven cubits wide, because there were offsets along the outside of the temple so that the beams would not be fastened into the walls of the temple.	6 Нижчий поверх був 5 ліктів завширшки, середній 6 ліктів, а третій 7 ліктів завширшки, бо знадвору храму — навколо він поробив уступи, щоб балки не входили в сіни храму.
7 (The temple was built of stone dressed at the quarry, so that no hammer, axe, or iron tool was to be heard in the temple during its construction.)	7 Як будовано храм, то каміння брали вже готове з каменолому, так що в храмі при роботі не було чути ні молота, ні сокири, ані гуку від якогось іншого залізного знаряддя.
8 The entrance to the lowest floor of the annex was at the right side of the temple, and stairs with intermediate landings led up to the middle story and from the middle story to the third.	8 Вхід до нижчого поверху був на правім боці храму, і круглими сходами входили до середнього поверху, з середнього до третього.
9 When the temple was built to its full height, it was roofed in with rafters and boards of cedar.	9 А як скінчив будувати храм, то вкрив його кедровими балками й дошками.
10 The annex, with its lowest story five cubits high, was built all along the outside of the temple, to which it was joined by cedar beams.	10 Він вивів прибудову до всього храму, кожний поверх 5 ліктів заввишки, і зв’язав її з храмом кедровим деревом.
11 This word of the LORD came to Solomon:	11 І надійшло до Соломона таке слово Господнє:
12 "As to this temple you are building--if you observe my statutes, carry out my ordinances, keep and obey all my commands, I will fulfill toward you the promise I made to your father David.	12 «Щодо храму, який ти будуєш, то, коли ходитимеш у моїх установах і виконуватимеш мої присуди та пильнуватимеш усі мої заповіді, поводившися згідно з ними, — я справджу на тобі моє слово, що я сказав Давидові, батькові твоєму,
13 I will dwell in the midst of the Israelites and will not forsake my people Israel."	13 і житиму серед синів Ізраїля, і не покину народу мого Ізраїля.»
14 When Solomon finished building the temple,	14 Так збудував Соломон храм і скінчив його.
15 its walls were lined from floor to ceiling beams with cedar paneling, and its floor was laid with fir planking.	15 Він облицював стіни храму зсередини кедровими дошками від підлоги в храмі аж до балок у стелі, — пообкладав ізсередини деревом, а підлогу храму вистелив кипарисовими дошками.
16 At the rear of the temple a space of twenty cubits was set off by cedar partitions from the floor to the rafters, enclosing the sanctuary, the holy of holies.	16 Облицював також кедровими дошками задню частину храму на 20 ліктів, від підлоги до балок, і відділив її від храму для дебіру, тобто для всесвятого.
17 The nave, or part of the temple in front of the sanctuary, was forty cubits long.	17 На 40 ліктів був храм, тобто святе перед всесвятим.
18 The cedar in the interior of the temple was carved in the form of gourds and open flowers; all was of cedar, and no stone was to be seen.	18 Кедрина в середині храму була оздоблена вирізьбленими плодами й квітами, що звисали. Все з кедрини, каміння не було видко.
19 In the innermost part of the temple was located the sanctuary to house the ark of the LORD'S covenant,	19 Соломон поставив дебір у храмі на те, щоб там поставити кивот Господнього завіту. 20. Дебір (всесвяте) був 20 ліктів завдовжки,
20 twenty cubits long, twenty wide, and twenty high.	20 ліктів завширшки і 20 ліктів заввишки; він обклав його щирим золотом і зробив кедровий жертовник.
21 Solomon overlaid the interior of the temple with pure gold. He made in front of the sanctuary a cedar altar, overlaid it with gold, and looped it with golden chains.	21 Соломон обклав храм усередині щирим золотом і простягнув завісу на золотих ланцюжках перед всесвятим, що вкрив золотом,
22 The entire temple was overlaid with gold so that it was completely covered with it; the whole altar before the sanctuary was also overlaid with gold.	22 увесь храм обклав він золотом, увесь храм до кінця та й увесь жертовник, що був перед всесвятим, покрив золотом.
23 In the sanctuary were two cherubim, each ten cubits high, made of olive wood.	23 У всесвятому зробив він двох херувимів з оливкового дерева, по 10 ліктів заввишки.
24 Each wing of a cherub measured five cubits so that the space from wing tip to wing tip of each was ten cubits.	24 П’ять ліктів було одне крило херувима й 5 ліктів крило другого херувима, тобто 10 ліктів від кінця одного крила до кінця другого крила.
25 The cherubim were identical in size and shape,	25 На 10 ліктів був і другий херувим. Обидва- херувими були однієї міри й одного вигляду.
26 and each was exactly ten cubits high.	26 І поставив він херувимів серед внутрішньої части храму. Крила ж херувими простягали так, що крило одного торкалось однієї стіни, а крило другого торкалось другої стіни; другі ж крила їх торкались крило об крило посеред храму.
27 The cherubim were placed in the inmost part of the temple, with their wings spread wide, so that one wing of each cherub touched a side wall while the other wing, pointing toward the middle of the room, touched the corresponding wing of the second cherub.	27 Він укрив херувимів золотом.
28 The cherubim, too, were overlaid with gold.	28 Цар Соломон наклав громадські роботи на ввесь Ізраїль. 30 000 чоловік притягнено до громадських робіт.
29 The walls on all sides of both the inner and the outer rooms had carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers.	29 А по всіх стінах храму навкруги вирізьбив подоби херувимів, пальм і квіток, що звисали, всередині й зовні.
30 The floor of both the inner and the outer rooms was overlaid with gold.	30 А й підлогу внутрі й зовні вкрив золотом.
31 At the entrance of the sanctuary, doors of olive wood were made; the doorframes had beveled posts.	31 До входу у всесвяте зробив двокрилі двері з оливкового дерева, надвірок і одвірки були як п’ятикутник.
32 The two doors were of olive wood, with carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. The doors were overlaid with gold, which was also molded to the cherubim and the palm trees.	32 Зробив так само двокрилі двері з оливкового дерева і вирізьбив на них херувимів, пальми та квіти, що звисали, та й покрив їх золотом, тобто обклав херувимів і пальми розплощеним золотом.
33 The same was done at the entrance to the nave, where the doorposts of olive wood were rectangular.	33 Так само зробив і до входу у святе: одвірки з оливкового дерева, одвірки чотирикутні,
34 The two doors were of fir wood; each door was banded by a metal strap, front and back,	34 двокрилі двері з кипарисового дерева: обидві половини одних і других дверей відчинялись до себе й від себе.
35 and had carved cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, over which gold was evenly applied.	35 І вирізьбив на них херувимів, пальми та квіти, що звисали, і вкрив їх золотом, що щільно приставало до різьби.
36 The inner court was walled off by means of three courses of hewn stones and one course of cedar beams.	36 І обвів внутрішній двір стіною з трьох покладів тесаного каміння та одного покладу кедрових дощок.
37 The foundations of the LORD'S temple were laid in the month of Ziv	37 У четвертому році, в місяці Зів, була закладена основа храму,
38 in the fourth year, and it was completed in all particulars, exactly according to plan, in the month of Bul, the eighth month, in the eleventh year. Thus it took Solomon seven years to build it.	38 а в одинадцятому році, в місяці Бул — восьмий місяць року — скінчено храм у всіх його частинах і за всім його задуманим розподілом. Будував його Соломон 7 років.
