LXXNEW AMERICAN BIBLE
και εστησεν κυριος τον λογον αυτου ον ελαλησεν εφ' ημας και επι τους δικαστας ημων τους δικασαντας τον ισραηλ και επι τους βασιλεις ημων και επι τους αρχοντας ημων και επι ανθρωπον ισραηλ και ιουδα1 "And the LORD fulfilled the warning he had uttered against us: against our judges, who governed Israel, against our kings and princes, and against the men of Israel and Judah.
ουκ εποιηθη υποκατω παντος του ουρανου καθα εποιησεν εν ιερουσαλημ κατα τα γεγραμμενα εν τω νομω μωυση2 He brought down upon us evils so great that there has not been done anywhere under heaven what has been done in Jerusalem, as was written in the law of Moses:
του φαγειν ημας ανθρωπον σαρκας υιου αυτου και ανθρωπον σαρκας θυγατρος αυτου3 that one after another of us should eat the flesh of his son or of his daughter.
και εδωκεν αυτους υποχειριους πασαις ταις βασιλειαις ταις κυκλω ημων εις ονειδισμον και εις αβατον εν πασι τοις λαοις τοις κυκλω ου διεσπειρεν αυτους κυριος εκει4 He has made us subject to all the kingdoms round about us, a reproach and a horror among all the nations round about to which the LORD has scattered us.
και εγενηθησαν υποκατω και ουκ επανω οτι ημαρτομεν κυριω θεω ημων προς το μη ακουειν της φωνης αυτου5 We are brought low, not raised up, because we sinned against the LORD, our God, not heeding his voice.
τω κυριω θεω ημων η δικαιοσυνη ημιν δε και τοις πατρασιν ημων η αισχυνη των προσωπων ως η ημερα αυτη6 "Justice is with the LORD, our God; and we, like our fathers, are flushed with shame even today.
α ελαλησεν κυριος εφ' ημας παντα τα κακα ταυτα ηλθεν εφ' ημας7 All the evils of which the LORD had warned us have come upon us:
και ουκ εδεηθημεν του προσωπου κυριου του αποστρεψαι εκαστον απο των νοηματων της καρδιας αυτων της πονηρας8 and we did not plead before the LORD, or turn, each from the figments of his evil heart.
και εγρηγορησεν κυριος επι τοις κακοις και επηγαγε κυριος εφ' ημας οτι δικαιος ο κυριος επι παντα τα εργα αυτου α ενετειλατο ημιν9 And the LORD kept watch over the evils, and brought them home to us; for the LORD is just in all the works he commanded us to do,
και ουκ ηκουσαμεν της φωνης αυτου πορευεσθαι τοις προσταγμασιν κυριου οις εδωκεν κατα προσωπον ημων10 but we did not heed his voice, or follow the precepts of the LORD which he set before us.
και νυν κυριε ο θεος ισραηλ ος εξηγαγες τον λαον σου εκ γης αιγυπτου εν χειρι κραταια και εν σημειοις και εν τερασιν και εν δυναμει μεγαλη και εν βραχιονι υψηλω και εποιησας σεαυτω ονομα ως η ημερα αυτη11 "And now, LORD, God of Israel, you who led your people out of the land of Egypt with your mighty hand, with signs and wonders and great might, and with your upraised arm, so that you have made for yourself a name till the present day:
ημαρτομεν ησεβησαμεν ηδικησαμεν κυριε ο θεος ημων επι πασιν τοις δικαιωμασιν σου12 we have sinned, been impious, and violated, O LORD, our God, all your statutes.
αποστραφητω ο θυμος σου αφ' ημων οτι κατελειφθημεν ολιγοι εν τοις εθνεσιν ου διεσπειρας ημας εκει13 Let your anger be withdrawn from us, for we are left few in number among the nations to which you scattered us.
εισακουσον κυριε της προσευχης ημων και της δεησεως ημων και εξελου ημας ενεκεν σου και δος ημιν χαριν κατα προσωπον των αποικισαντων ημας14 Hear, O LORD, our prayer of supplication, and deliver us for your own sake: grant us favor in the presence of our captors,
ινα γνω πασα η γη οτι συ κυριος ο θεος ημων οτι το ονομα σου επεκληθη επι ισραηλ και επι το γενος αυτου15 that the whole earth may know that you are the LORD, our God, and that Israel and his descendants bear your name.
κυριε κατιδε εκ του οικου του αγιου σου και εννοησον εις ημας κλινον κυριε το ους σου και ακουσον16 O LORD, look down from your holy dwelling and take thought of us; turn, O LORD, your ear to hear us.
ανοιξον κυριε τους οφθαλμους σου και ιδε οτι ουχ οι τεθνηκοτες εν τω αδη ων ελημφθη το πνευμα αυτων απο των σπλαγχνων αυτων δωσουσιν δοξαν και δικαιωμα τω κυριω17 Look directly at us, and behold: it is not the dead in the nether world, whose spirits have been taken from within them, who will give glory and vindication to the LORD.
αλλα η ψυχη η λυπουμενη επι το μεγεθος ο βαδιζει κυπτον και ασθενουν και οι οφθαλμοι οι εκλειποντες και η ψυχη η πεινωσα δωσουσιν σοι δοξαν και δικαιοσυνην κυριε18 He whose soul is deeply grieved, who walks bowed and feeble, with failing eyes and famished soul, will declare your glory and justice, LORD!
οτι ουκ επι τα δικαιωματα των πατερων ημων και των βασιλεων ημων ημεις καταβαλλομεν τον ελεον ημων κατα προσωπον σου κυριε ο θεος ημων19 "Not on the just deeds of our fathers and our kings do we base our plea for mercy in your sight, O LORD, our God.
οτι ενηκας τον θυμον σου και την οργην σου εις ημας καθαπερ ελαλησας εν χειρι των παιδων σου των προφητων λεγων20 You have brought your wrath and anger down upon us, as you had warned us through your servants the prophets:
ουτως ειπεν κυριος κλινατε τον ωμον υμων και εργασασθε τω βασιλει βαβυλωνος και καθισατε επι την γην ην εδωκα τοις πατρασιν υμων21 'Thus says the LORD: Bend your shoulders to the service of the king of Babylon, that you may continue in the land I gave your fathers:
και εαν μη ακουσητε της φωνης κυριου εργασασθαι τω βασιλει βαβυλωνος22 for if you do not hear the LORD'S voice so as to serve the king of Babylon,
εκλειψειν ποιησω εκ πολεων ιουδα και εξωθεν ιερουσαλημ φωνην ευφροσυνης και φωνην χαρμοσυνης φωνην νυμφιου και φωνην νυμφης και εσται πασα η γη εις αβατον απο ενοικουντων23 I will make to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem The sounds of joy and the sounds of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; And all the land shall be deserted, without inhabitants.'
και ουκ ηκουσαμεν της φωνης σου εργασασθαι τω βασιλει βαβυλωνος και εστησας τους λογους σου ους ελαλησας εν χερσιν των παιδων σου των προφητων του εξενεχθηναι τα οστα βασιλεων ημων και τα οστα των πατερων ημων εκ του τοπου αυτων24 But we did not heed your voice, or serve the king of Babylon, and you fulfilled the threats you had made through your servants the prophets, to have the bones of our kings and the bones of our fathers brought out from their burial places.
και ιδου εστιν εξερριμμενα τω καυματι της ημερας και τω παγετω της νυκτος και απεθανοσαν εν πονοις πονηροις εν λιμω και εν ρομφαια και εν αποστολη25 And indeed, they lie exposed to the heat of day and the frost of night. They died in dire anguish, by hunger and the sword and plague.
και εθηκας τον οικον ου επεκληθη το ονομα σου επ' αυτω ως η ημερα αυτη δια πονηριαν οικου ισραηλ και οικου ιουδα26 And you reduced the house which bears your name to what it is today, for the wickedness of the kingdom of Israel and the kingdom of Judah.
και εποιησας εις ημας κυριε ο θεος ημων κατα πασαν επιεικειαν σου και κατα παντα οικτιρμον σου τον μεγαν27 "But with us, O Lord, our God, you have dealt in all your clemency and in all your great mercy.
καθα ελαλησας εν χειρι παιδος σου μωυση εν ημερα εντειλαμενου σου αυτω γραψαι τον νομον σου εναντιον υιων ισραηλ λεγων28 This was your warning through your servant Moses, the day you ordered him to write down your law in the presence of the Israelites:
εαν μη ακουσητε της φωνης μου η μην η βομβησις η μεγαλη η πολλη αυτη αποστρεψει εις μικραν εν τοις εθνεσιν ου διασπερω αυτους εκει29 If you do not heed my voice, surely this great and numerous throng will dwindle away among the nations to which I will scatter them.
οτι εγνων οτι ου μη ακουσωσιν μου οτι λαος σκληροτραχηλος εστιν και επιστρεψουσιν επι καρδιαν αυτων εν γη αποικισμου αυτων30 For I know they will not heed me, because they are a stiff-necked people. But in the land of their captivity they shall have a change of heart;
και γνωσονται οτι εγω κυριος ο θεος αυτων και δωσω αυτοις καρδιαν και ωτα ακουοντα31 they shall know that I, the LORD, am their God. I will give them hearts, and heedful ears;
και αινεσουσιν με εν γη αποικισμου αυτων και μνησθησονται του ονοματος μου32 and they shall praise me in the land of their captivity, and shall invoke my name.
και αποστρεψουσιν απο του νωτου αυτων του σκληρου και απο πονηρων πραγματων αυτων οτι μνησθησονται της οδου πατερων αυτων των αμαρτοντων εναντι κυριου33 Then they shall turn back from their stiff-necked stubbornness, and from their evil deeds, because they shall remember the fate of their fathers who sinned against the LORD.
και αποστρεψω αυτους εις την γην ην ωμοσα τοις πατρασιν αυτων τω αβρααμ και τω ισαακ και τω ιακωβ και κυριευσουσιν αυτης και πληθυνω αυτους και ου μη σμικρυνθωσιν34 And I will bring them back to the land which with my oath I promised to their fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; and they shall rule it. I will make them increase; they shall not then diminish.
και στησω αυτοις διαθηκην αιωνιον του ειναι με αυτοις εις θεον και αυτοι εσονται μοι εις λαον και ου κινησω ετι τον λαον μου ισραηλ απο της γης ης εδωκα αυτοις35 And I will establish for them, as an eternal covenant, that I will be their God, and they shall be my people; and I will not again remove my people Israel from the land I gave them.
