εις το τελος ψαλμος τω δαυιδ | 1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David. |
οι ουρανοι διηγουνται δοξαν θεου ποιησιν δε χειρων αυτου αναγγελλει το στερεωμα | 2 The heavens describe the glory of God, and the firmament announces the work of his hands. |
ημερα τη ημερα ερευγεται ρημα και νυξ νυκτι αναγγελλει γνωσιν | 3 Day proclaims the word to day, and night to night imparts knowledge. |
ουκ εισιν λαλιαι ουδε λογοι ων ουχι ακουονται αι φωναι αυτων | 4 There are no speeches or conversations, where their voices are not being heard. |
εις πασαν την γην εξηλθεν ο φθογγος αυτων και εις τα περατα της οικουμενης τα ρηματα αυτων εν τω ηλιω εθετο το σκηνωμα αυτου | 5 Their sound has gone forth through all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. |
και αυτος ως νυμφιος εκπορευομενος εκ παστου αυτου αγαλλιασεται ως γιγας δραμειν οδον αυτου | 6 He has placed his tabernacle in the sun, and he is like a bridegroom coming out of his bedroom. He has exulted like a giant running along the way; |
απ' ακρου του ουρανου η εξοδος αυτου και το καταντημα αυτου εως ακρου του ουρανου και ουκ εστιν ος αποκρυβησεται την θερμην αυτου | 7 his departure is from the summit of heaven. And his course reaches all the way to its summit. Neither is there anyone who can hide himself from his heat. |
ο νομος του κυριου αμωμος επιστρεφων ψυχας η μαρτυρια κυριου πιστη σοφιζουσα νηπια | 8 The law of the Lord is immaculate, converting souls. The testimony of the Lord is faithful, providing wisdom to little ones. |
τα δικαιωματα κυριου ευθεια ευφραινοντα καρδιαν η εντολη κυριου τηλαυγης φωτιζουσα οφθαλμους | 9 The justice of the Lord is right, rejoicing hearts. The precepts of the Lord are brilliant, enlightening the eyes. |
ο φοβος κυριου αγνος διαμενων εις αιωνα αιωνος τα κριματα κυριου αληθινα δεδικαιωμενα επι το αυτο | 10 The fear of the Lord is holy, enduring for all generations. The judgments of the Lord are true, justified in themselves: |
επιθυμητα υπερ χρυσιον και λιθον τιμιον πολυν και γλυκυτερα υπερ μελι και κηριον | 11 desirable beyond gold and many precious stones, and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb. |
και γαρ ο δουλος σου φυλασσει αυτα εν τω φυλασσειν αυτα ανταποδοσις πολλη | 12 For, indeed, your servant keeps them, and in keeping them, there are many rewards. |
παραπτωματα τις συνησει εκ των κρυφιων μου καθαρισον με | 13 Who can understand transgression? From my hidden faults, cleanse me, O Lord, |
και απο αλλοτριων φεισαι του δουλου σου εαν μη μου κατακυριευσωσιν τοτε αμωμος εσομαι και καθαρισθησομαι απο αμαρτιας μεγαλης | 14 and from those of others, spare your servant. If they will have no dominion over me, then I will be immaculate, and I will be cleansed from the greatest transgression. |
και εσονται εις ευδοκιαν τα λογια του στοματος μου και η μελετη της καρδιας μου ενωπιον σου δια παντος κυριε βοηθε μου και λυτρωτα μου | 15 And the eloquence of my mouth will be so as to please, along with the meditation of my heart, in your sight, forever, O Lord, my helper and my redeemer. |
