1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.	1 Ed all'Angelo della Chiesa di Sardi scrivi: così dice quegli, che ha i sette Spiriti di Dio, e le sette stelle: mi sono note le opere tue, e come hai nome di vivo, e se' morto.
2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.	2 Sii vigilante, e ristora il resto, che stavano per morire. Imperocché non ho trovato le opere tue piene dinanzi al mio Dio.
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.	3 Abbi adunque in memoria quel, che ricevesti, e udisti, ed osservalo, e fa' penitenza. Che se non veglierai, verrò a te come un ladro, né saprai, in qual ora verrò a te.
4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.	4 Hai però in Sardi alcune poche persone, le quali non hanno macchiate le vesti loro: e verranno con me vestiti di bianco, perché ne sono degni.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.	5 Chi sarà vincitore sarà cosi rivestito di bianche vesti, né cancellerò il nome di lui dal libro della vita, e confesserò il nome di lui dinanzi al Padre mio, e dinanzi a' suoi Angeli.
6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.	6 Chi ha orecchio, oda quello, che dica lo Spirito alle Chiese.
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;	7 Ed all'Angelo della Chiesa di Filadelfia scrivi: così dice il santo, e il verace, che ha la chiave di David: che apre, e nissuno chiude, che chiude, e nissuno apre:
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.	8 Mi sono note le opere tue. Ecco,che io ti ho messo davanti una porta aperta, la quale nissuno può chiudere: perché hai poco di virtù, ed hai osservata la mia parola, e non hai negato il mio nome.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.	9 Ecco, che io darò della sinagoga di satana quei, che dicono d'esser Giudei, e noi sono, ma dicono il falso: ecco, dir io farò sì, che vengano, e s' incurvino dinanzi a' tuoi piedi: e conosceranno, come io ti ho amato.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.	10 Dappoiché hai osservato il precetto della mia pazienza, io ancora ti salverò dall'ora della tentazione, la quale sta per sopravvenire a tutto il mondo, per provare gli abitatori della terra.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.	11 Ecco, che io vengo speditamente: conserva quello, che hai, affinchè nissuno prenda la tua corona.
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.	12 Chi sarà vincitore, farollo colonna del tempio del mio Dio, e non ne uscirà più l'uora: sopra di lui scriverò il nome del mio Dio, e il nome della città del mio Dio (della nuova Gerusalemme,la qual discende dal cielo dal mio Dio) il nuovo mio nome.
13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.	13 E chi ha orecchio, oda quel, che lo Spirito dica alle Chiese.
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;	14 Ed all'Angelo della Chiesa di Laodicca scrivi: cosi dice l'amen, il testimone fedele, e verace, il principio delle cose da Dio create.
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.	15 Mi sono note le opere tue: come non sei né freddo, né caloroso: di grazia fossi tu o freddo, o caloroso:
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.	16 Ma perché sei tiepido, e né freddo, né caloroso, comincerò a vomitarti dalla mia bocca.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:	17 Imperocché vai dicendo: son ricco, e dovizioso, e non mi manca niente: e non sai, che tu sei meschino, e miserabile, e povero, e cieco, e ignudo.
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.	18 Ti consiglio a comperare da me l'oro passato, e provato nel fuoco, onde ti facci ricco, ed a rivestirti delle vesti bianche, affinchè non comparisca la vergogna della tua nudità, e ungi gli occhi tuoi con unguento per vederci.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.	19 Io quegli, che amo, li riprendo, e ti gastigo. Abbi adunque zelo, e fa penitenza.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.	20 Ecco, che io sto alla porta, e picchio: chi udirà la mia voce, e aprirammi la porta, entrerò da lui, e cenerò con lui, ed egli con me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.	21 Chi sarà vincitore, darogli di sedere con me nel mio trono: come io ancora fui vincitore, e sedei col Padre mio nel suo trono.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.	22 Chi ha orecchio, oda quel, che lo Spirito dica alle Chiese.
