1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.	1 Écris à l’ange de l’Église qui est à Sardes: Voici ce que dit celui qui a les sept esprits de Dieu, et les sept étoiles sont à lui.
2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.	2 Je connais tes œuvres: on te croit vivant mais tu es mort. Réveille-toi et affermis ceux qui restent mais sont près de mourir. Car tes œuvres m’ont paru bien minces à la lumière de Dieu.
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.	3 Rappelle-toi ce que tu as reçu et entendu; mets-le en pratique et reprends-toi. Si tu ne restes pas éveillé, je viendrai à toi comme un voleur, et tu ne sais pas à quelle heure j’irai te surprendre.
4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.	4 J’ai pourtant quelques noms de ceux qui, à Sardes, n’ont pas souillé leurs vêtements; ceux-là m’accompagneront vêtus de blanc car ils l’ont mérité.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.	5 Le vainqueur portera ce vêtement blanc. Jamais je n’effacerai son nom du livre de vie; je proclamerai bien sûr son nom, devant mon Père et devant ses anges.
6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.	6 Que celui qui a des oreilles écoute ce que l’Esprit dit aux Églises!
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;	7 Écris à l’ange de l’Église qui est à Philadelphie: Voici ce que dit le Saint, le Vrai, celui qui garde la clé de David et, s’il ouvre, nul autre ne ferme; s’il ferme, nul n’ouvrira.
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.	8 Je connais tes œuvres. Je viens d’ouvrir devant toi une porte que personne ne fermera. Tu n’as guère de force, mais tu as gardé ma parole et tu n’as pas renié mon nom.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.	9 Aussi vais-je te donner quelques-uns de ceux qui se proclament Juifs mais ne le sont pas: c’est un mensonge, ils sont la synagogue de Satan. Je te les donne et les fais venir chez toi, et ils se jetteront à tes pieds car ils verront que je t’ai aimé.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.	10 Oui, tu as gardé mes paroles qui éprouvent la constance, et je te garderai à mon tour de ce temps d’épreuve qui va surprendre toute la terre, pour éprouver tous les habitants de la terre.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.	11 Tout de suite j’arrive; garde bien ce que déjà tu as, que personne ne t’enlève le prix.
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.	12 Le vainqueur, je le placerai comme une colonne dans le Temple de mon Dieu, de sorte qu’on ne puisse l’en retirer. Je graverai sur lui le nom de mon Dieu et le nom de la cité de mon Dieu, la nouvelle Jérusalem qui descend du Ciel d’auprès de mon Dieu, ainsi que mon nom nouveau.
13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.	13 Que celui qui a des oreilles écoute ce que l’Esprit dit aux Églises!
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;	14 Écris à l’ange de l’Église qui est à Laodicée: Voici ce que dit celui qui est l’Amen, le témoin, celui qui est sûr et vrai, et l’origine de la création de Dieu.
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.	15 Je connais tes œuvres: tu n’es ni froid ni chaud. Si tu pouvais être froid ou chaud!
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.	16 Mais non, tu es tiède, ni froid ni chaud, et je vais te vomir de ma bouche.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:	17 Tu te dis: "Je suis riche, si riche que je n’ai besoin de rien.” Et tu ne vois pas que tu es misérable et digne de pitié, pauvre, aveugle et nu.
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.	18 Je te conseille, si tu veux être riche, de m’acheter de l’or éprouvé par le feu, des vêtements blancs pour t’en habiller et qu’on ne voie plus ta honte, car tu es nu; achète-moi des gouttes pour mettre dans tes yeux, et alors tu pourras voir.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.	19 Je reprends et je corrige ceux que j’aime; fais donc des efforts et reprends-toi.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.	20 Me voilà devant la porte et je frappe; celui qui entend ma voix et ouvre la porte, j’entrerai chez lui et je mangerai avec lui, et lui avec moi.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.	21 Le vainqueur, je le ferai asseoir avec moi sur mon trône, tout comme moi après ma victoire je me suis assis avec mon Père sur son trône.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.	22 Que celui qui a des oreilles écoute ce que l’Esprit dit aux Églises!
