1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.	1 Sansão foi a Gaza, viu lá uma mulher meretriz, e entrou em casa dela.
2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.	2 Tendo ouvido os Filisteus que Sansão havia entrado na cidade, cercaram-no, pondo guardas às portas da cidade, esperando-o ali toda a noite em silêncio, para o matarem pela manhã, ao sair.
3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.	3 Sansão porém dormiu até à meia-noite; depois, levantando-se, pegou em ambos os batentes da porta com os seus postes e fechaduras, e, pondo-os às costas, levou-os até ao alto do monte que olha para Hebron.
4 And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.	4 Depois disto amou uma mulher, que habitava no vale de Sorec e se chamava Dalila.
5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.	5 Os príncipes dos Filisteus foram ter com ela e disseram-lhe: Procura, pela sedução, saber donde lhe vem tanta força e de que modo o poderemos vencer e castigar depois de atado; se fizeres isto, cada um de nós te dará mil e cem moedas de prata.
6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.	6 Dalila disse pois a Sansão: Dize-me, te peço, em que consiste esta tua tão grande força, e que coisa haverá com a qual estando tu ligado não possas escapar-te?
7 And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.	7 Sansão respondeu-lhe: Se eu for ligado com sete cordas frescas e ainda húmidas, ficarei tão fraco como os outros homens.
8 Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.	8 Os príncipes dos Filisteus trouxeram-lhe sete cordas, como ela tinha dito, com as quais ela o atou.
9 Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.	9 Estando eles de emboscada escondidos na sua casa, e esperando na câmara o êxito da traição, ela gritou: Sansão, os Filisteus estão sobre ti. Ele quebrou as cordas, como se quebra um cordão de estopa, mal se lhe chega o fogo. E não se pôde conhecer em que consistia a sua força.
10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.	10 Dalila disse-lhe: Zombaste de mim, não disseste a verdade; ao menos agora descobre-me com que deves ser atado.
11 And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.	11 Ele respondeu-lhe: Se me atarem com umas cordas novas, que ainda não tenham servido, ficarei sem força, semelhante aos outros homens.
12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.	12 Dalila atou-o com elas, e gritou: Sansão, os Filisteus estão sobre ti. Eles (os filisteus) tinham preparado ciladas numa câmara. Mas ele quebrou as cordas como se fossem um fio.
13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.	13 Dalila tornou-lhe a dizer: Até quando me hás-de, tu enganar, e dizer falsidades? Descobre-me como deves ser atado. Sansão respondeu-lhe: Se entreteceres as sete tranças da minha cabeça com os liços da teia, se o tares isto a um prego e cravares este na terra, ficará, sem forças.
14 And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.	14 Dalila, tendo feito isto, disse-lhe: Sansão, os Filisteus estão sobre ti. Ele, despertando do sono, arrancou o prego com os cabelos e os liços.
15 And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.	15 Dalila disse-lhe: Como dizes tu que me amas, quando o teu coração não está comigo? Já me mentiste por três vezes, e nunca me quiseste dizer em que consiste a tua grandíssima força,
16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;	16 Como ela o importunasse, insistindo incessantemente nos seus pedidos, todos os dias, até lhe produzir um tédio mortal,
17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her. There hath not come a rasor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.	17 ele, abrindo, de par em par, o seu coração, disse-lhe: Sobre a minha cabeça nunca passou navalha, porque sou nazareno, isto é, consagrado a Deus desde o ventre de minha mãe; se me for rapada a cabeça, ir-se-á de mim a minha força, eu desfalecerei e serei como os outros homens.
18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.	18 Vendo ela que Sansão lhe tinha patenteado todo o seu coração, mandou dizer aos príncipes dos Filisteus: Vinde, porque, desta vez, ele me descobriu agora o seu coração. E eles foram, levando o dinheiro que lhe tinham prometido.
19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.	19 Ela fê-lo adormecer sobre os seus joelhos, e reclinar a cabeça no seu seio. Chamou um barbeiro para lhe cortar as sete tranças, e começou a dominá-lo, pois imediatamente se foi dele a força.
20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.	20 E disse: Sansão, os Filisteus estão sobre ti. Despertando ele do sono, disse em seu coração: Sairei, como antes fiz, e me desembaraçarei deles — não sabendo que o Senhor se tinha retirado dele.
21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.	21 Os Filisteus, tendo-o tomado, tiraram-lhe logo os olhos, levaram-no a Gaza, prenderam-no com uma dupla cadeia de bronze, e, encerrando-o no cárcere, o fizeram girar a mó.
22 Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.	22 Entretanto os seus cabelos já lhe tinham começado a crescer,
23 Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.	23 quando os príncipes dos Filisteus se juntaram para oferecerem um grande sacrifício ao seu deus Dagão, e para se banquetearem, dizendo: O nosso deus entregou em nossas mãos o nosso inimigo Sansão.
24 And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.	24 Também o povo, vendo isto, louvava o seu deus e dizia o mesmo: O nosso deus entregou em nossas mãos o nosso adversário, que devastou a nossa terra e matou muitos.
25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.	25 Quando o seu coração se alegrou, depois de terem comido bem, mandaram que fosse chamado Sansão, para que os divertisse. Tirado da cárcere, Sansão foi obrigado a dançar diante deles. Tinham-no posto entre as colunas.
26 And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.	26 Ele disse para o jovem que o guiava: Deixa que eu toque as colunas, em que se sustém toda a casa, e que me encoste a elas.
27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.	27 A casa estava cheia de homens e mulheres, e estavam ali todos os príncipes dos Filisteus; havia cerca de três mil pessoas de um e outro sexo, que do tecto e do pavimento estavam vendo Sansão que dançava.
28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.	28 Ele, porém, invocando o Senhor, disse: Senhor Javé, lembra-te de mim e torna-me a dar agora a minha primeira força, ó Deus meu, para me vingar dos meus inimigos e fazer pagar duma só vez a perda dos meus dois olhos.
29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.	29 (Então), agarrando as duas colunas em que a casa se sustinha, pegando numa com a mão direita e noutra com a esquerda,
30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.	30 disse: Morra eu com os Filisteus. Tão fortemente sacudiu as colunas, que a casa caiu sobre todos os príncipes, e o resto da multidão que ali estava; e foram muitos mais os que matou ao morrer, do que os que matara quando vivo.
31 Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the burying place of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.	31 Vindo seus irmãos e toda a sua parentela, tomaram o seu corpo, o sepultaram-no entre Saraa e Estaol, no sepulcro de seu pai Manué. Foi juiz de Israel durante vinte anos.
