1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.	1 Queridos, no os fiéis de cualquier espíritu, sino examinad si los espíritus vienen de Dios, pues muchos falsos profetas han salido al mundo.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:	2 Podréis conocer en esto el espíritu de Dios: todo espíritu que confiesa a Jesucristo, venido en carne, es de Dios;
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.	3 y todo espíritu que no confiesa a Jesús, no es de Dios; ese es el del Anticristo. El cual habéis oído que iba a venir; pues bien, ya está en el mundo.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.	4 Vosotros, hijos míos, sois de Dios y los habéis vencido. Pues el que está en vosotros es más que el que está en el mundo.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.	5 Ellos son del mundo; por eso hablan según el mundo y el mundo los escucha.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.	6 Nosotros somos de Dios. Quien conoce a Dios nos escucha, quien no es de Dios no nos escucha. En esto conocemos el espíritu de la verdad y el espíritu del error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.	7 Queridos, amémonos unos a otros, ya que el amor es de Dios, y todo el que ama ha nacido de Dios y conoce a Dios.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.	8 Quien no ama no ha conocido a Dios, porque Dios es Amor.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.	9 En esto se manifestó el amor que Dios nos tiene; en que Dios envió al mundo a su Hijo único para que vivamos por medio de él.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.	10 En esto consiste el amor: no en que nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino en que él nos amó y nos envió a su Hijo como propiciación por nuestros pecados.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.	11 Queridos, si Dios nos amó de esta manera, también nosotros debemos amarnos unos a otros.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.	12 A Dios nadie le ha visto nunca. Si nos amamos unos a otros, Dios permanece en nosotros y su amor ha llegado en nosotros a su plenitud.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.	13 En esto conocemos que permanecemos en él y él en nosotros: en que nos ha dado de su Espíritu.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.	14 Y nosotros hemos visto y damos testimonio de que el Padre envió a su Hijo, como Salvador del mundo.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.	15 Quien confiese que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios, Dios permanece em él y él en Dios.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.	16 Y nosotros hemos conocido el amor que Dios nos tiene, y hemos creído en él. Dios es Amor y quien permanece en el amor permanece en Dios y Dios en él.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.	17 En esto ha llegado el amor a su plenitud con nosotros: en que tengamos confianza en el día del Juicio, pues como él es, así somos nosotros en este mundo.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.	18 No hay temor en el amor; sino que el amor perfecto expulsa el temor, porque el temor mira el castigo;
19 We love him, because he first loved us.	19 quien teme no ha llegado a la plenitud en el amor. Nosotros amemos, porque él nos amó primero.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?	20 Si alguno dice: «Amo a Dios», y aborrece a su hermano, es un mentiroso; pues quien no ama a su hermano, a quien ve, no puede amar a Dios a quien no ve.
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.	21 Y hemos recibido de él este mandamiento: quien ama a Dios, ame también a su hermano.
