Corinthians 5

KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.1 It is widely reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of a kind not found even among pagans--a man living with his father's wife.
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.2 And you are inflated with pride. Should you not rather have been sorrowful? The one who did this deed should be expelled from your midst.
For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,3 I, for my part, although absent in body but present in spirit, have already, as if present, pronounced judgment on the one who has committed this deed,
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,4 in the name of (our) Lord Jesus: when you have gathered together and I am with you in spirit with the power of the Lord Jesus,
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.5 you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?6 Your boasting is not appropriate. Do you not know that a little yeast leavens all the dough?
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:7 Clear out the old yeast, so that you may become a fresh batch of dough, inasmuch as you are unleavened. For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed.
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.8 Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people,
Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.10 not at all referring to the immoral of this world or the greedy and robbers or idolaters; for you would then have to leave the world.
But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.11 But I now write to you not to associate with anyone named a brother, if he is immoral, greedy, an idolater, a slanderer, a drunkard, or a robber, not even to eat with such a person.
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?12 For why should I be judging outsiders? Is it not your business to judge those within?
But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.13 God will judge those outside. "Purge the evil person from your midst."
