Deuteronomy 6

1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:	1 Estes são os preceitos, as cerimônias, as ordenações, que o Senhor vosso Deus me mandou ensinar-vos, para que as observeis na terra, à qual estais para passar, a fim de tomar posse dela,
2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.	2 para que temas o Senhor teu Deus, e, observando todos os seus mandamentos e preceitos, que eu te intimo a ti, a teus filhos e netos, durante todos os dias da tua vida, vivas largos anos.
3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.	3 Ouve, ó Israel, cuida de fazer o que o Senhor te mandou, para que te suceda bem e te multipliques muito na terra que mana leite e mel, como te prometeu o Senhor Deus de teus pais.
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:	4 Ouve, ó Israel: o Senhor nosso Deus é o único Senhor.
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.	5 Amarás ao Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma, com toda a tua força.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:	6 Estas palavras, que eu hoje te intimo, estarão (gravadas) no teu coração;
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.	7 tu as ensinarás a teus filhos, e as meditarás sentado em tua casa, andando pelo caminho, estando no leito, e ao levantar-te.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.	8 Atá-las-ás à tua mão como um sinal, elas estarão como um frontal diante dos teus olhos,
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.	9 e escrevê-las-ás sobre o limiar e sobre as portas da tua casa.
10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,	10 Quando o Senhor teu Deus te tiver introduzido na terra que a teus pais Abraão, Isaac e Jacob, jurou dar-te: grandes e excelentes cidades, que tu não edificaste,
11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;	11 casas cheias de todos os bens, que não encheste, cisternas, que não abriste, vinhas e olivais, que não plantaste;
12 Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.	12 quando comeres e te fartares
13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.	13 abstém-te cuidadosamente de esquecer o Senhor, que te tirou da terra do Egipto, da morada da escravidão. Temerás o Senhor teu Deus, só a ele servirás, e jurarás pelo seu nome.
14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;	14 Não seguirás os deuses estrangeiros de nenhuma das nações, que estão à roda de ti,
15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.	15 porque um Deus zeloso, o Senhor teu Deus, está no meio de ti, não suceda que o furor do Senhor teu Deus se acenda contra ti, e te extermine da superfície da terra.
16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.	16 Não tentarás o Senhor teu Deus, como o tentaste no Lugar da Tentação.
17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.	17 Guarda os preceitos do Senhor teu Deus, as leis e as cerimônias que te prescreveu:
18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,	18 faze o que é agradável e bom diante do Senhor, para que te suceda bem, e para que entrando, possuas aquela terra excelente, que o Senhor jurou a teus pais
19 To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.	19 quando exterminasse diante de ti todos os teus inimigos, como disse.
20 And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?	20 Quando teu filho amanhã te perguntar, dizendo: Que são estas leis, cerimônias, ordenações, que o Senhor nosso Deus nos prescreveu?
21 Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:	21 - tu lhe responderás: Nós estávamos escravos de Faraó no Egipto, e o Senhor tirou-nos do Egipto com mão poderosa,
22 And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:	22 e à nossa vista fez no Egipto milagres e grandes prodígios contra Faraó e contra toda a sua casa,
23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.	23 e tirou-nos de lá, para nos fazer entrar na posse da terra que, com juramento, havia prometido a nossos pais.
24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.	24 O Senhor mandou-nos que observássemos todas estas leis, que temêssemos o Senhor nosso Deus, para que nos suceda bem durante todos os dias da nossa vida, como sucede hoje.
25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.	25 Será para nós justiça guardar e observar todos os seus preceitos na presença do Senhor nosso Deus, como ele no-lo mandou.
