Deuteronomy 32

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.	1 Cieux, prêtez l'oreille, et je parlerai; terre, écoute ce que je vais dire!
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:	2 Que ma doctrine ruisselle comme la pluie, que ma parole tombe comme la rosée, comme lesondées sur l'herbe verdoyante, comme les averses sur le gazon!
3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.	3 Car je vais invoquer le nom de Yahvé; vous, magnifiez notre Dieu.
4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.	4 Il est le Rocher, son oeuvre est parfaite, car toutes ses voies sont le Droit. C'est un Dieufidèle et sans iniquité, il est Justice et Rectitude.
5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.	5 Ils se sont corrompus, eux qu'il avait engendrés sans tare, génération fourbe et tortueuse.
6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?	6 Est-ce là ce que vous rendez à Yahvé? Peuple insensé, dénué de sagesse! N'est-ce pas lui tonpère, qui t'a procréé, lui qui t'a fait et par qui tu subsistes?
7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.	7 Rappelle-toi les jours d'autrefois, considère les années, d'âge en âge. Interroge ton père, qu'ilte l'apprenne; tes anciens, qu'ils te le disent.
8 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.	8 Quand le Très-Haut donna aux nations leur héritage, quand il répartit les fils d'homme, il fixales limites des peuples suivant le nombre des fils de Dieu;
9 For the LORD's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.	9 mais le lot de Yahvé, ce fut son peuple, Jacob fut sa part d'héritage.
10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.	10 Au pays du désert, il le trouve, dans la solitude lugubre de la steppe. Il l'entoure, il l'élève, ille garde comme la prunelle de son oeil.
11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:	11 Tel un aigle qui veille sur son nid, plane au-dessus de ses petits; il déploie ses ailes et leprend, il le soutient sur son pennage.
12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.	12 Yahvé est seul pour le conduire; point de dieu étranger avec lui.
13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;	13 Il lui fait chevaucher les hauteurs de la terre, il le nourrit des produits des montagnes, il luifait goûter le miel du rocher et l'huile de la pierre dure;
14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.	14 le lait caillé des vaches et le lait des brebis avec la graisse des pâturages, les béliers, race duBashân, et les boucs avec la graisse des grains du froment, et pour boisson le sang de la grappe qui fermente.
15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.	15 Jacob a mangé, il s'est rassasié, Yeshurûn s'est engraissé et il a regimbé. (Tu as engraissé,épaissi, élargi.) Il a repoussé le Dieu qui l'avait fait et déshonoré le Rocher, son salut.
16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.	16 Ils l'ont rendu jaloux avec des étrangers, ils l'ont irrité par des abominations.
17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.	17 Ils sacrifiaient à des démons qui ne sont pas Dieu, à des dieux qu'ils ne connaissaient pas, àdes nouveaux venus d'hier que leurs pères n'avaient pas redoutés.
18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.	18 (Tu oublies le Rocher qui t'a mis au monde, tu ne te souviens plus du Dieu qui t'aengendré!)
19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.	19 Yahvé l'a vu, et dans sa colère il a rejeté ses fils et ses filles.
20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.	20 Il a dit: Je vais leur cacher ma face et je verrai ce qu'il adviendra d'eux. Car c'est unegénération pervertie, des fils sans fidélité.
21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.	21 Ils m'ont rendu jaloux avec un néant de dieu, ils m'ont irrité par leurs êtres de rien; eh bien!moi, je les rendrai jaloux avec un néant de peuple, je les irriterai au moyen d'une nation stupide!
22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.	22 Oui, un feu a jailli de ma colère, il brûlera jusqu'aux profondeurs du shéol; il dévorera laterre et ce qu'elle produit, il embrasera la base des montagnes.
23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.	23 Je lancerai sur eux les calamités, j'épuiserai contre eux mes flèches.
24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.	24 Ils seront affaiblis par la faim, dévorés par la peste et par un amer fléau. J'enverrai contreeux la dent des bêtes avec le venin des reptiles.
25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.	25 Au-dehors l'épée emportera les fils, au-dedans régnera l'épouvante. Périront ensemble jeunehomme et jeune fille, enfant à la mamelle et vieillard chenu.
26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:	26 J'ai dit: Je les réduirais bien en poussière, j'abolirais leur souvenir parmi les hommes,
27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.	27 si je ne craignais l'arrogance de l'ennemi. Que leurs adversaires ne s'y trompent pas! Qu'ilsne disent pas: "Notre main l'emporte, et Yahvé n'y est pour rien."
28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.	28 Car c'est une nation aux vues courtes, privée de discernement.
29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!	29 S'ils étaient sages, certes ils aboutiraient, ils sauraient discerner leur avenir.
30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?	30 Comment donc un seul homme en met-il mille en fuite, et comment deux en poursuivent-ils10.000, sinon parce que leur Rocher les a vendus et que Yahvé les a livrés?
31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.	31 Mais leur rocher n'est pas comme notre Rocher; ce n'est pas à nos ennemis d'intercéder pournous.
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:	32 Car leur vigne vient de la vigne de Sodome et des plantations de Gomorrhe: leurs raisinssont raisins vénéneux, leurs grappes sont amères;
33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.	33 leur vin est un venin de serpent, un violent poison de vipère.
34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?	34 Mais lui, n'est-il pas à l'abri près de moi, scellé dans mes trésors?
35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.	35 A moi la vengeance et la rétribution, pour le temps où leur pied trébuchera. Car il estproche, le jour de leur ruine; leur destin se précipite!
36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.	36 (Car Yahvé va faire droit à son peuple, il va prendre en pitié ses serviteurs.) Car il va voirque leur vigueur s'épuise, qu'il ne reste plus ni libre, ni serf.
37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,	37 Alors il dira: Où sont leurs dieux, rocher où ils cherchaient refuge,
38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.	38 ceux qui mangeaient la graisse de leurs sacrifices, buvaient le vin de leurs libations? Qu'ilsse lèvent et vous secourent, qu'ils soient au-dessus de vous votre abri!
39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.	39 Voyez maintenant que moi, moi je Le suis et que nul autre avec moi n'est Dieu! C'est moiqui fais mourir et qui fais vivre; quand j'ai frappé, c'est moi qui guéris (et personne ne délivre de ma main).
40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.	40 Oui, je lève ma main vers le ciel et je dis: Aussi vrai que je vis pour toujours,
41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.	41 quand j'aurai aiguisé mon épée fulgurante. Ma main saisira le Droit. Je rendrai la pareille àmes adversaires, je paierai de retour ceux qui me haïssent.
42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.	42 J'enivrerai de sang mes flèches et mon épée se repaîtra de chair: sang des blessés et descaptifs, têtes échevelées de l'ennemi.
43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.	43 Cieux, exultez avec lui, et que les fils de Dieu l'adorent! Nations, exultez avec son peuple,et que tous les envoyés de Dieu affirment sa force! Car il vengera le sang de ses serviteurs, il rendra la pareille àses adversaires, il paiera de retour ceux qui le haïssent et purifiera la terre de son peuple.
44 And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.	44 Moïse vint avec Josué fils de Nûn, et prononça aux oreilles du peuple toutes les paroles dece cantique.
45 And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:	45 Quand Moïse eut achevé de prononcer ces paroles à l'adresse de tout Israël,
46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.	46 il leur dit: "Soyez bien attentifs à toutes ces paroles; je les prends à témoin aujourd'huicontre vous, et vous prescrirez à vos fils de les garder, en mettant en pratique toutes les paroles de cette Loi.
47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.	47 Ce n'est pas pour vous une vaine parole car elle est votre vie, et c'est par elle que vousvivrez de longs jours sur la terre dont vous allez prendre possession en passant le Jourdain."
48 And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,	48 Yahvé parla à Moïse, ce même jour, et lui dit:
49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:	49 "Monte sur cette montagne des Abarim, sur le mont Nebo, au pays de Moab, face à Jéricho,et regarde le pays de Canaan que je donne en propriété aux Israélites.
50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:	50 Meurs sur la montagne où tu seras monté, et tu seras réuni aux tiens, comme Aaron tonfrère, mort sur la montagne de Hor, fut réuni aux siens.
51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.	51 Parce que vous m'avez été infidèles au milieu des Israélites aux eaux de Meriba-Cadès,dans le désert de Cîn, parce que vous n'avez pas manifesté ma sainteté au milieu des Israélites,
52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel.	52 c'est du dehors seulement que tu verras le pays, mais tu n'y pourras entrer, en ce pays que jedonne aux Israélites."DeutéronomeDeutéronome
