1 And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:	1 Les chefs de famille du clan de Galaad, fils de Makir, fils de Manassé, l’un des clans de Joseph, s’approchèrent et dirent à Moïse et à tous les chefs des familles Israélites:
2 And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.	2 “Yahvé a donné l’ordre à mon seigneur de partager le pays par le sort pour le distribuer entre les Israélites. Mon seigneur a aussi reçu de Yahvé l’ordre de donner l’héritage de Séloféhad, notre frère, à ses filles.
3 And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.	3 Mais si elles se marient avec un homme d’une autre tribu Israélite, leur héritage sera retranché de l’héritage de nos pères et s’ajoutera à l’héritage de la tribu dont elles feront désormais partie. Cet héritage sera donc retranché de notre lot.
4 And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.	4 Quand viendra le Jubilé pour les Israélites, leur héritage sera ajouté à celui de la tribu dont elles font désormais partie et leur héritage sera retranché de celui de la tribu de nos pères.”
5 And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.	5 Moïse donna donc cet ordre aux Israélites, selon la volonté de Yahvé. Il dit: “La tribu des fils de Joseph a bien parlé.
6 This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.	6 Voici ce que Yahvé ordonne à propos des filles de Séloféhad. Elles se marieront avec qui elles voudront, à condition qu’en se mariant elles restent dans une famille de la tribu de leur père.
7 So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.	7 Ainsi l’héritage des Israélites ne passera pas d’une tribu à l’autre. Chaque Israélite restera ainsi lié à l’héritage de la tribu de son père.
8 And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.	8 “Toute fille qui possède un héritage, dans quelque tribu d’Israël que ce soit, se mariera avec un homme appartenant à la tribu de son père. Ainsi les Israélites conserveront chacun l’héritage de leur père.
9 Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.	9 Aucun héritage ne passera d’une tribu à l’autre; chacune des tribus israélites restera liée à son héritage.”
10 Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:	10 Les filles de Séloféhad firent donc comme Yahvé l’avait ordonné à Moïse.
11 For Mahlal, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father's brothers' sons:	11 Mala, Tirsa, Hogla, Milka et Noa, les filles de Séloféhad, se marièrent avec des hommes de leur parenté.
12 And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.	12 Elles se marièrent dans les familles des fils de Manassé, fils de Joseph; ainsi leur héritage resta dans la tribu de la famille de leur père.
13 These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.	13 Voilà les ordonnances et les lois que Yahvé donna par Moïse aux Israélites dans les Steppes-de-Moab, près du Jourdain en face de Jéricho.
