1 And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.	1 Entretanto levantou-se uma murmuração do povo contra o Senhor. O Senhor, tendo ouvido isto, irou-se, e o fogo do Senhor, aceso contra eles, (já) devorava uma extremidade do acampamento.
2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.	2 O povo clamou a Moisés; Moisés orou ao Senhor, e o fogo extinguiu-se.
3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.	3 (Moisés) pôs àquele lugar o nome de Incêndio, porque ali se tinha acendido contra eles o fogo do Senhor.
4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?	4 A populaça que tinha vindo com eles ardeu em desejos, sentando-se e chorando, unindo-se-lhe também os filhos de Israel. Diziam: Quem nos dará carnes para comer?
5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:	5 Lembramo-nos dos peixes que comiamos de graça no Egito; vem-nos à memória os pepinos e os melões, e os alhos bravos, e as cebolas, e os alhos.
6 But our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.	6 Falta-nos o apetite, pois os nossos olhos não vêem senão maná.
7 And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.	7 Ora o maná era como os grãos de coentro, da cor do bdélio.
8 And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.	8 O povo ia ao redor do campo, e, colhendo-o, o moía numa mó, ou o pisava num gral, cozendo-o numa panela, fazia dele tortas dum sabor como de pão amassado com azeite.
9 And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.	9 Enquanto de noite caía o orvalho no campo caia também o maná.
10 Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.	10 Ouviu, pois, Moisés chorar o povo nas suas famílias, cada um à porta da sua tenda. A cólera do Senhor acendeu-se fortemente. Moisés entristeceu-se
11 And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?	11 e disse ao Senhor: Por que afligiste o teu servo? Por que não acho eu graça diante de ti? Por que puseste sobre mim o peso de todo este povo?
12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?	12 Porventura concebi eu toda esta multidão, ou gerei-a, para me dizeres: Traze-os no teu seio, como a ama costuma trazer uma criança, e leva-os à terra que com juramento prometi a seus pais?
13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.	13 Donde me virão carnes para dar a tão grande multidão? Eles choram contra mim, dizendo: Dá-nos carnes para comermos.
14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.	14 Eu só não posso suportar todo este povo, porque se me torna pesado.
15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.	15 Se te parece outra coisa, peço-te que me tires a vida, e que ache eu graça diante dos teus olhos, para me não ver oprimido de tão grandes males.
16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.	16 O Senhor disse a Moisés: Junta-me setenta homens entre os anciães de Israel, que tu saibas serem anciães do povo e seus principais; conduzi-los-ás à porta do tabernáculo da reunião, e ali os farás esperar contigo,
17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.	17 para que eu desça, te fale, tome do seu Espírito e Iho dê a eles, para que sustentem contigo o peso do povo, e não sejas tu só o agravado.
18 And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.	18 Dirás também ao povo: Santificai-vos, que amanhã comereis carnes, pois vos ouvi dizer. Quem nos dará a comer carnes? Nós estávamos bem no Egito. Assim o Senhor vos dará carnes que comais,
19 Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;	19 não só um dia, nem dois, nem cinco ou dez, nem mesmo vinte,
20 But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?	20 mas um mês inteiro, até elas vos saírem pela boca, até vos causarem enjôo, visto que rejeitastes o Senhor, que está no meio de vós, e chorastes no meio dele, dizendo: Por que saímos nós do Egito?
21 And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.	21 Moisés disse: É um povo de seiscentos mil homens de pé, e tu dizes: Dar-lhes-ei carne a comer durante um mês inteiro?
22 Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?	22 Porventura matar-se-á tanta quantidade de ovelhas e bois, que possa bastar para a sua comida? Ou juntar-se-ão todos os peixes do mar, para os fartarem?
23 And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD's hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.	23 O Senhor respondeu-lhe: Porventura é impotente a mão do Senhor? Agora mesmo verás se a minha palavra se põe por obra.
24 And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.	24 Foi Moisés e referiu ao povo as palavras do Senhor, e, juntando-se setenta homens dos anciães de Israel, fê-los estar de pé junto do tabernáculo.
25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.	25 O Senhor desceu na nuvem, falou-lhe, e, tirando do Espírito que havia em Moisés, deu dele aos setenta homens. Tendo repousado neles o Espírito, profetizaram e não cessaram mais (de o fazer).
26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.	26 Ora tinham ficado no campo dois homens, um dos quais se chamava Eldad, e o outro Medad, e o Espírito pousou (também) sobre eles porque também eles tinham sido alistados, mas não tinham saído para ir ao tabernáculo.
27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.	27 Como profetizassem no acampamento, um jovem correu e deu a notícia a Moisés, dizendo: Eldad e Medad profetizam nos acampamentos,
28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.	28 Imediatamente Josué, filho die Nun, ministro de Moisés e escolhido entre muitos, disse: Moisés, meu senhor, impede-os (de profetizar).
29 And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!	29 Moisés respondeu-lhe; Por que és tão zeloso por mim? Quem dera que todo o povo profetizasse, e que o Senhor lhe desse o seu Espírito!
30 And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.	30 E Moisés voltou para os acampamentos com os anciães de Israel.
31 And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.	31 Um vento mandado pelo Senhor, trazendo codornizes das bandas do mar, arrebatou-as consigo e fê-las descer sobre os acampamentos ao redor do campo por tanto espaço, quanto se pode andar num dia e voavam pelo ar à altura de dois covados sobre a terra.
32 And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.	32 Levantando-se então o povo, apanhou todo aquele dia e a noite e o outro dia tantas codornizes, que aquele que menos (recolheu), tinha dez gomores delas, e puseram-nas a secar à roda dos acampamentos.
33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.	33 Ainda as carnes estavam nos seus dentes, e ainda se lhes não tinha acabado este manjar, quando a cólera do Senhor se acendeu contra o povo, e o feriu com uma grandíssima praga.
34 And he called the name of that place Kibroth-hattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.	34 Aquele lugar foi chamado o Sepulcro da Concupiscência, porque ali sepultaram o povo, que tinha tido os desejos. E tendo partido dos Sepulcros da Concupiscência, foram a Haseroth, e ali ficaram.
35 And the people journeyed from Kibroth-hattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.
