1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,	1 Ecco infatti che in quei giorni e in quel tempo, quando io avrò fatto ritornare gli esuli di Giuda e di Gerusalemme,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.	2 radunerò tutte le nazioni, e le farò discendere nella valle di Giosafat, ed ivi discuterò con esse a riguardo del mio popolo e della mia eredità, Israele, che esse han disperso fra le nazioni, e riguardo alla mia terra da esse spartita.
3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.	3 Esse si son diviso a sorte il mio popolo, han posti i giovanetti nei postriboli, han venduto le figlie per avere del vino da bere.
4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompence me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;	4 E che relazioni ci sono tra me e voi, o Tiro, o Sidone, o intera regione dei Filistei? Volete forse vendicarvi di me? Se voi vi vendicate di me, io vi renderò subito subito il contraccambio, (facendo ricadere la vostra pròvocazione) sulla vostra testa.
5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:	5 Perchè voi avete rubato il mio argento e il mio oro, e tutte le mie cose preziose e più belle le avete portate dentro i vostri templi.
6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.	6 E i figli di Giuda e di Gerusalemme li avete venduti ai figli dei Greci, per tenerli lontani dalla loro terra.
7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:	7 Ecco, io li farò tornare dal luogo nel quale voi li avete venduti, e renderò a voi il contraccambio sopra il vostro capo.
8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.	8 E venderò i vostri figli e le vostre figlie nelle mani dei figli di Giuda, ed essi li venderanno ai Sabei, ad un popolo lontano, perchè il Signore ha parlato.
9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:	9 Pubblicatelo ad alta voce tra le nazioni, preparatevi alla guerra, eccitate i forti, si avvicinino, salgano tutti gli uomini di guerra,
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.	10 trasformate i vostri aratri in spade, le vostre zappe in lance; il debole dica: « Io son forte ».
11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.	11 Uscite fuori, venite, radunatevi insieme da ogni parte, o nazioni tutte, dove il Signore abbatterà i vostri eroi.
12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.	12 Si muovano le nazioni e vengano nella valle di Giosafat, perchè ivi io starò a giudicare tutte le genti che da ogni parte verranno.
13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.	13 Menate la falce, perchè la messe è matura. Venite, scendete; perchè lo strettoio è pieno, i tini rigurgitano, e la loro malvagità è giunta al colmo.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.	14 Popoli, popoli, alla valle della decisione! perchè è vicino il giorno del Signore nella valle della decisione.
15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.	15 Il sole e la luna si sono oscurati, le stelle han perduto il loro splendore. i
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.	16 Il Signore ruggirà da Sion, da Gerusalemme farà sentire la sua voce; il cielo e la terra tremeranno: il Signore sarà la speranza del suo popolo, la fortezza dei figli d'Israele.
17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.	17 E voi saprete che io sono il Signore Dio vostro, che abito in Sion, mia santa montagna. E Gerusalemme sarà santa, e gli stranieri non vi metteranno più piede.
18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.	18 E in quel giorno i monti stilleranno dolcezza e dalle colline sgorgherà il latte, e per tutti i ruscelli di Giuda correranno le acque. E dalla casa del Signore zampillerà una fontana, che irrigherà la valle delle spine.
19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.	19 L'Egitto sarà in desolazione, l'Idumea sarà un deserto di rovine, perchè hanno agito iniquamente contro i figli d'Israele, ed hanno sparso nella loro terra il sangue innocente.
20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.	20 Ma la Giudea sarà abitata in eterno, e Gerusalemme per tutte le generazioni.
21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.	21 E farò vendetta del loro sangue, da me non ancora vendicato, e il Signore abiterà in Sion.
