Jeremiah 45

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,	1 - La parola che Geremia profeta pronunziò, nell'anno quarto di Joachim, figlio di Josia, re di Giuda, a Baruc, figlio di Neria, dopo che ebbe riscritto queste parole nel libro dalla bocca di Geremia che gli disse:
2 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;	2 «Così dice il Signore Dio di Israele a te Baruc:
3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.	3 - Hai esclamato: "O misero a me! Il Signore mi aggiunse dolore sopra dolore, son macerato dai gemiti e non so trovar quiete!".
4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.	4 Ebbene, così dice il Signore: "Gli dirai così: Ecco quelli che ho edificato, io distruggo, e quelli che ho piantato, io svelgo, e tutta questa terra corre la stessa sorte".
5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.	5 E tu cercheresti grandiosità? non cercarne, perchè ecco che io farò piombare grandi guai sopra tutti i viventi, dice il Signore; ma a te darò salva la vita, in tutti i luoghi dovunque tu andrai -».
