Isaiah 66

1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?	1 Così parla il Signore: "Il cielo è il mio trono, e la terra è lo sgabello dei miei piedi. Quale casa mi costruirete e quale sarà il luogo del mio riposo?
2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.	2 Tutte queste cose le ha fatte la mia mano, esse sono mie, oracolo del Signore. Verso chi volgerò lo sguardo? Verso il povero, che ha spirito contrito e che trema alla mia parola.
3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.	3 Chi immola un bue, uccide anche un uomo; chi sacrifica un agnello, strozza anche un cane; chi reca un'offerta, offre anche sangue di porco; chi brucia incenso, venera anche l'iniquità. Essi scelgono le loro vie e la loro anima si compiace delle loro abominazioni.
4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.	4 Così anch'io sceglierò le loro sventure e farò piombare su di essi ciò che temono, poiché ho chiamato e nessuno rispose, parlai e nessuno ascoltò. Commisero ciò che è male ai miei occhi e scelsero ciò in cui non mi compiaccio".
5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.	5 Ascoltate la parola del Signore, voi che tremate alla sua parola! Dissero i vostri fratelli, che vi odiano, che vi respingono a causa del mio nome: "Si mostri il Signore nella sua gloria e possiamo vedere la vostra gioia!". Ma essi saranno confusi.
6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.	6 Una voce, un frastuono viene dalla città, una voce viene dal tempio; la voce del Signore, che ripaga i suoi nemici.
7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.	7 Prima delle doglie essa ha partorito; prima di essere sorpresa dai dolori si è sgravata di un maschio.
8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.	8 Chi ha mai udito una cosa simile? Chi vide cose come queste? E' forse un paese messo al mondo in un sol giorno? E' forse generata una nazione in un istante? Eppure Sion, appena entrata in doglie, partorì i suoi figli.
9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.	9 Forse che io, che apro il seno, non farò partorire?, dice il Signore. Forse che io, che faccio generare, chiuderò il seno?, dice il tuo Dio.
10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:	10 Rallegratevi con Gerusalemme, esultate per essa, quanti l'amate! Gioite grandemente con essa, voi tutti che siete contristati per essa!
11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.	11 Affinché siate allattati e saziati alla mammella delle sue consolazioni, affinché succhiate e vi deliziate al seno della sua gloria.
12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.	12 Poiché così parla il Signore: "Ecco, io convoglierò verso di essa la pace a guisa di fiume, come un torrente straripante la gloria delle nazioni. Voi succhierete e sarete portati in braccio, sarete accarezzati sulle ginocchia.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.	13 Come un figlio che la madre consola, così anch'io vi consolerò; a Gerusalemme sarete consolati.
14 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.	14 Vedrete e il vostro cuore gioirà, le vostre ossa prenderanno vigore come erba. La mano del Signore si farà conoscere ai suoi servi e la sua ira ai suoi nemici".
15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.	15 Sì, ecco il Signore viene col fuoco, i suoi carri sono come un turbine, per riversare con sdegno la sua ira e la sua minaccia con fiamme di fuoco.
16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.	16 Sì, il Signore farà giustizia con il fuoco e con la spada su ogni uomo; numerose saranno le vittime del Signore.
17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.	17 Quanti si santificano e si purificano, seguendo nei giardini uno che sta nel mezzo, che mangiano carne suina, abominazioni e topi, insieme finiranno, oracolo del Signore,
18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.	18 con le loro opere e i loro pensieri. "Io verrò a raccogliere tutte le nazioni e tutte le lingue; essi verranno e vedranno la mia gloria.
19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.	19 Darò loro un segno e invierò alcuni dei loro superstiti verso le nazioni: Tarsis, Put, Lud, Mesech, Ros, Tubal, Grecia, verso le isole lontane, che non hanno udito la mia fama e non hanno visto la mia gloria; essi annunceranno la mia gloria tra le nazioni.
20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.	20 Ricondurranno tutti i vostri fratelli da tutte le nazioni come offerta al Signore, su cavalli, su carri, su portantine, su muli e dromedari, al mio santo monte di Gerusalemme, dice il Signore, come i figli d'Israele portano l'offerta in vasi puri al tempio del Signore.
21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.	21 Anche da essi mi prenderò dei sacerdoti e dei leviti", dice il Signore.
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.	22 "Sì, come i nuovi cieli e la nuova terra, che io farò, sussistono al mio cospetto, oracolo del Signore, così perdurerà la vostra discendenza e il vostro nome.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.	23 Da novilunio a novilunio e da sabato a sabato ognuno verrà ad adorare davanti a me, dice il Signore.
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.	24 Uscendo vedranno i cadaveri degli uomini che si sono ribellati contro di me; poiché il loro verme non morirà, il loro fuoco non si estinguerà e saranno un orrore per tutti".
