1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.	1 Que le désert et la terre aride se réjouissent, que la steppe dise sa joie avec des fleurs; comme le narcisse,
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.	2 qu’elle se couvre de fleurs, qu’elle pousse des cris de joie, des acclamations! À elle de recevoir la gloire du Liban, la splendeur du Carmel et de Saron; à eux de voir la Gloire de Yahvé, la splendeur de notre Dieu.
3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.	3 Fortifiez les mains qui tombent, affermissez les genoux qui tremblent,
4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.	4 dites aux craintifs: “Courage, ne craignez pas! Voici votre Dieu qui vient pour sa revanche, il leur rendra ce qu’ils ont mérité; lui-même vient pour nous sauver.”
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.	5 Alors les yeux des aveugles verront, les oreilles des sourds entendront,
6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.	6 le boiteux sautera comme un cerf et la langue du muet chantera sa joie, car des eaux jailliront dans le désert, et des torrents dans la steppe.
7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.	7 La terre brûlante se changera en étang, et le pays de la soif en eaux débordantes. Dans le repaire où les chacals étaient chez eux, l’herbe poussera comme les roseaux et les joncs.
8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.	8 Il y aura un chemin, une route, qu’on appellera la voie sacrée; l’impur n’y passera pas, car le Seigneur lui-même ouvrira la route et l’homme sans conscience ne s’y aventurera pas.
9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:	9 On n’y verra jamais le lion, les bêtes sauvages n’y monteront pas; on n’en rencontrera pas sur cette route, mais les rachetés y marcheront.
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.	10 Ceux que Yahvé a rachetés reviendront, ils arriveront à Sion tout en fête, on lira sur leur visage la joie qui ne passe pas. Ils déborderont de bonheur et de joie: pleurs et douleurs auront pris fin.
