Isaiah 13

1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.	1 Vaticinio a carico di Babilonia, veduto da Isaia figlio di Amos.
2 Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.	2 Sopra caliginosa montagna inalberate il vessillo, alzate la voce, agitate le mani, chè entrino nelle porte i condottieri.
3 I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.	3 Ho già dati i miei ordini ai miei eletti, nel mio sdegno ho chiamati i miei forti, che esultano per la mia gloria.
4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.	4 Rumore di moltitudine sulle montagne, come di popolo numeroso, rumore di tumulto di re, di nazioni adunate: il Signore degli eserciti ha dati i suoi ordini alle milizie della guerra.
5 They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.	5 Esse vengono da lontani paesi, dagli ultimi confini del mondo, il Signore e gli strumenti del suo sdegno a distruggere tutta la terra.
6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.	6 Alzate le strida; perchè il giorno del Signore è vicino: verrà lo sterminio, qual sa mandarlo l'Onnipotente.
7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:	7 E allora tutte le braccia di veranno impotenti, tutti i cuori degli uomini verranno meno.
8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.	8 Tremeranno, si divincoleranno tra i dolori, si lamenteranno come una partoriente, si guarderanno gli uni gli altri con stupore: le loro facce saranno abbronzite.
9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.	9 Ecco è per venire il giorno del Signore, giorno crudele, pieno d'indignazione, d'ira, di furore: ridurrà la terra in un deserto, ne sterminerà i peccatori.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.	10 Allora le stelle più lucenti del cielo non faran più brillare la loro luce, il sole si oscurerà dal mattino, la luna non darà più la sua luce;
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.	11 e io punirò le malvagità del mondo, l'iniquità degli empi; farò cessare la superbia degl'infedeli, umilierò l'arroganza dei forti.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.	12 Renderò l'uomo più raro dell'oro, il mortale più raro dell'oro finissimo.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.	13 Di più sconvolgerò il cielo, si moverà dal suo posto la terra per lo sdegno del Signore degli eserciti, essendo il giorno della sua collera e del suo furore.
14 And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.	14 Essa sarà come gazzella che fugge, come gregge che non ha chi lo raduni: ognuno tornerà al suo popolo, ciascuno fuggirà al suo paese.
15 Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.	15 Chiunque sarà trovato sarà ucciso, e quanti seguiranno periranno di spada.
16 Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.	16 I loro bambini saranno sfracellati sotto i loro occhi, le loro case saranno saccheggiate, violate le loro mogli.
17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.	17 Ecco io susciterò contro di loro i Medi, che non cercano argento, non vogliono oro;
18 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.	18 ma colle loro frecce uccideranno i bambini, senza aver pietà per i seni che allattano, senza avere occhio di compassione per i loro figli.
19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.	19 E la famosa Babilonia, la gloria dei regni, l'inclito orgoglio dei Caldei, sarà come Sodoma e Gomorra, distrutte dal Signore.
20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.	20 Non sarà più abitata, non sarà riedificata per tutte le generazioni, nè vi alzerà le sue tende l'Arabo, nè vi riposeranno i pastori.
21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.	21 Ma vi si accovaceranno le fiere; le loro case saran piene di dragoni, vi abiteranno gli struzzi, e vi balleranno i satiri.
22 And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.	22 Si risponderanno i gufi nei suoi palazzi, e le sirene nelle case del piacere.
