1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.	1 Cependant Moïse conduisait les brebis de Jéthro, son beau-père, prêtre de Madian; et ayant mené son troupeau au fond du désert, il vint à la montagne de Dieu, nommée Horeb.
2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.	2 Alors le Seigneur lui apparut dans une flamme de feu qui sortait du milieu d'un buisson, et il voyait brûler le buisson sans qu'il fût consumé.
3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.	3 Moïse dit donc: Il faut que j'aille reconnaître quelle est cette merveille que je vois, et pourquoi ce buisson ne se consume point.
4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.	4 Mais le Seigneur, le voyant venir pour considérer ce phénomène, l'appela du milieu du buisson, et lui dit: Moïse, Moïse! Il Lui répondit: Me voici.
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.	5 Et Dieu dit: N'approchez pas d'ici; ôtez vos souliers de vos pieds, parce que le lieu où vous êtes est une terre sainte.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.	6 Il dit encore: Je suis le Dieu de votre père, le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d'Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob, Moïse se cacha le visage, parce qu'il n'osait regarder Dieu.
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;	7 Le Seigneur lui dit: J'ai vu l'affliction de Mon peuple, qui est en Egypte; J'ai entendu le cri qu'il jette à cause de la dureté de ceux qui président aux travaux.
8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.	8 Et, sachant quelle est sa douleur, Je suis descendu pour le délivrer des mains des Egyptiens, et pour le faire passer de cette terre en une terre bonne et spacieuse; en une terre où coulent le lait et le miel, au pays des Chananéens, des Héthéens, des Amorrhéens, des Phérézéens, des Hévéens et des Jébuséens.
9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.	9 Le cri des enfants d'Israël est donc venu jusqu'à Moi; J'ai vu leur affliction et de quelle manière ils sont opprimés par les Egyptiens.
10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.	10 Mais venez, et Je vous enverrai vers le Pharaon, afin que vous fassiez sortir de l'Egypte Mon peuple, les enfants d'Israël.
11 And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?	11 Moïse dit à Dieu: Qui suis-je, pour aller vers le Pharaon et pour faire sortir d'Egypte les enfants d'Israël?
12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.	12 Dieu lui répondit: Je serai avec vous, et ceci sera pour vous le signe que c'est Moi qui vous ai envoyé. Lorsque vous aurez tiré Mon peuple de l'Egypte, vous offrirez à Dieu un sacrifice sur cette montagne.
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?	13 Moïse dit à Dieu: J'irai donc vers les enfants d'Israël, et je leur dirai: Le Dieu de vos pères m'a envoyé vers vous. Mais s'ils me disent: Quel est son nom? que leur répondrai-je?
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.	14 Dieu dit à Moïse: Je suis Celui qui est. Voici, ajouta-t-Il, ce que vous direz aux enfants d'Israël: Celui qui est m'a envoyé vers vous.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.	15 Dieu dit encore à Moïse: Vous direz ceci aux enfants d'Israël: Le Seigneur, le Dieu de vos pères, le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d'Isaac, le Dieu de Jacob, m'a envoyé vers vous. Voilà Mon nom pour l'éternité, et voilà Mon mémorial de génération en génération.
16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:	16 Allez, assemblez les anciens d'Israël, et dites-leur: Le Seigneur, le Dieu de vos pères, m'est apparu. Le Dieu d'Abraham, le Dieu d'Isaac, le Dieu de Jacob m'a dit: Je suis venu vous visiter, et J'ai vu tout ce qui vous est arrivé en Egypte.
17 And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.	17 J'ai résolu de vous tirer de l'oppression des Egyptiens et de vous faire passer au pays des Chananéens, des Héthéens, des Amorrhéens, des Phérézéens, des Hévéens et des Jébuséens; en une terre où coulent le lait et le miel.
18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.	18 Ils écouteront votre voix, et vous irez, vous et les anciens d'Israël, vers le roi d'Egypte, et vous lui direz: Le Seigneur, le Dieu des Hébreux, nous a appelés; nous sommes obligés d'aller à trois jours de chemin dans le désert, pour sacrifier au Seigneur notre Dieu.
19 And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.	19 Mais Je sais que le roi d'Egypte ne vous laissera point aller, s'il n'y est contraint par une main forte.
20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.	20 J'étendrai donc Ma main, et Je frapperai l'Egypte par toutes sortes de prodiges que Je ferai au milieu d'eux; et après cela il vous laissera aller.
21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:	21 Et Je ferai trouver grâce à ce peuple dans l'esprit des Egyptiens; et lorsque vous partirez, vous ne sortirez pas les mains vides.
22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.	22 Mais chaque femme demandera à sa voisine et à celle qui demeurera chez elle des vases d'or et d'argent, et des vêtements dont vous habillerez vos fils et vos filles; et vous dépouillerez l'Egypte.
