1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hephzi-bah.	1 Manassé avait douze ans lorsqu'il commença à régner, et il régna cinquante-cinq ans dans Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Haphsiba.
2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.	2 Il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et il adora les idoles des nations que le Seigneur avait exterminées à l'entrée (la face) des fils d'Israël.
3 For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.	3 Il rebâtit (en vint à rebâtir) les hauts lieux que son père Ezéchias avait détruits ; il dressa des autels à Baal, et il fit planter des bois sacrés, comme avait fait Achab, roi d'Israël ; il adora tous les astres (toute la milice) du ciel, et il leur sacrifia.
4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.	4 Il bâtit aussi des autels dans la maison du Seigneur, de laquelle le Seigneur avait dit : J'établirai mon nom dans Jérusalem.
5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.	5 Et il dressa des autels à tous les astres (toute la milice) du ciel dans les deux parvis du temple du Seigneur.
6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.	6 Il fit passer son fils par le feu, se livra aux divinations, observa les augures, et institua ceux qu'on appelle pythons (établit des pythoniens, note), et multiplia les enchanteurs (aruspices), pour commettre le mal aux yeux du Seigneur, et pour l'irriter.
7 And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:	7 Il mit aussi l'idole du bois sacré qu'il avait planté dans le temple du Seigneur, duquel le Seigneur avait dit à David et à Salomon son fils : C'est dans ce temple, et dans Jérusalem, que j'ai choisie d'entre toutes les tribus d'Israël, que j'établirai mon nom à jamais ;
8 Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.	8 et je ne ferai plus mouvoir le pied d'Israël hors de la terre que j'ai donnée à leurs pères ; pourvu qu'ils gardent tout ce que je leur ai commandé, et toute la loi que mon serviteur Moïse leur a donnée.
9 But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.	9 Et cependant ils n'ont pas écouté le Seigneur ; mais ils se sont laissé séduire par Manassé, pour faire encore plus de mal que n'en avaient fait les nations exterminées par le Seigneur à l'entrée (la face) des fils d'Israël.
10 And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,	10 Le Seigneur parla ensuite par tous les (l'entremise des) prophètes ses serviteurs, et il dit :
11 Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:	11 Parce que Manassé, roi de Juda, a commis ces abominations encore plus détestables que tout ce que les Amorrhéens avaient fait avant lui, et qu'il a fait pécher Juda par ses infamies (impuretés),
12 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.	12 voici ce que dit le Seigneur, Dieu d'Israël : Je ferai fondre de tels maux sur Jérusalem et sur Juda, que les oreilles en seront tout étourdies à quiconque les entendra.
13 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.	13 J'étendrai sur Jérusalem le cordeau de Samarie et le poids de la maison d'Achab ; j'effacerai Jérusalem comme on efface ce qui est écrit sur (a coutume d'effacer) des tablettes ; je passerai et repasserai souvent le style par-dessus (sur sa face), afin qu'il n'en demeure rien.
14 And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;	14 J'abandonnerai les restes de mon héritage, et les livrerai entre les mains de leurs ennemis, et tous ceux qui les haïssent les pilleront et les ravageront ;
15 Because they have done that which was evil in my sight,and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.	15 parce qu'ils ont commis le mal devant moi, et qu'ils ont continué à m'irriter, depuis le jour où leurs pères sont sortis d'Egypte jusqu'à présent.
16 Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.	16 De plus, Manassé répandit des ruisseaux de sang innocent jusqu'à en remplir toute la ville de Jérusalem, outre les autres péchés par lesquels il avait fait pécher Juda, pour commettre le mal devant le Seigneur.
17 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?	17 Le reste des actions de Manassé, tout ce qu'il a fait et le péché qu'il a commis, tout cela est écrit au livre des annales (actions des jours) des rois de Juda.
18 And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.	18 Et Manassé s'endormit avec ses pères, et fut enseveli dans le jardin de sa maison, dans le jardin d'Oza ; et Amon son fils régna à sa place.
19 Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.	19 Amon avait vingt-deux ans lorsqu'il commença à régner, et il régna deux ans dans Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Messalémeth ; elle était fille de Harus, de Jétéba.
20 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did.	20 (Et) Il fit le mal devant le Seigneur, comme avait fait Manassé son père.
21 And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:	21 Il marcha dans toutes les voies par lesquelles son père avait marché. Il révéra les mêmes abominations (impuretés) que son père avait révérées, et il les adora.
22 And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.	22 Il abandonna le Dieu de ses pères, et ne marcha pas dans la voie du Seigneur.
23 And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.	23 Et ses serviteurs lui dressèrent des embûches et le tuèrent dans sa maison.
24 And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.	24 Mais le peuple frappa tous ceux qui avaient conspiré contre le roi Amon, et établit Josias, son fils, pour régner à sa place.
25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?	25 Le reste des actions d'Amon est écrit au livre des annales (actions des jours) des rois de Juda.
26 And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.	26 Il fut enseveli dans son sépulcre, dans le jardin d'Oza, et Josias, son fils, régna à sa place.
