2 Kings 20

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.	1 En ces jours-là, Ezéchias fut atteint d'une maladie mortelle. Le prophète Isaïe, fils d'Amoç, vint luidire: "Ainsi parle Yahvé. Mets ordre à ta maison, car tu vas mourir, tu ne vivras pas."
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,	2 Ezéchias se tourna vers le mur et fit cette prière à Yahvé:
3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.	3 "Ah! Yahvé, souviens-toi, de grâce, que je me suis conduit fidèlement et en toute probité de coeurdevant toi, et que j'ai fait ce qui était bien à tes yeux." Et Ezéchias versa d'abondantes larmes.
4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,	4 Isaïe n'était pas encore sorti de la cour centrale que lui parvint la parole de Yahvé:
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.	5 "Retourne dire à Ezéchias, chef de mon peuple: Ainsi parle Yahvé, Dieu de ton ancêtre David. J'aientendu ta prière, j'ai vu tes larmes. Je vais te guérir: dans trois jours, tu monteras au Temple de Yahvé.
6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.	6 J'ajouterai quinze années à ta vie, je te délivrerai, toi et cette ville, de la main du roi d'Assyrie, jeprotégerai cette ville à cause de moi et de mon serviteur David."
7 And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.	7 Isaïe dit: "Prenez un pain de figues"; on en prit un, on l'appliqua sur l'ulcère et le roi guérit.
8 And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?	8 Ezéchias dit à Isaïe: "A quel signe connaîtrai-je que Yahvé va me guérir et que, dans trois jours, jemonterai au Temple de Yahvé?"
9 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forth ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?	9 Isaïe répondit: "Voici, de la part de Yahvé, le signe qu'il fera ce qu'il a dit: Veux-tu que l'ombreavance de dix degrés, ou qu'elle recule de dix degrés?"
10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.	10 Ezéchias dit: "C'est peu de chose pour l'ombre de gagner dix degrés! Non! Que plutôt l'ombrerecule de dix degrés!"
11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.	11 Le prophète Isaïe invoqua Yahvé et celui-ci fit reculer l'ombre sur les degrés que le soleil avaitdescendus, les degrés de la chambre haute d'Achaz -- dix degrés en arrière.
12 At that time Berodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.	12 En ce temps-là, Mérodak-Baladan, fils de Baladan, roi de Babylone, envoya des lettres et unprésent à Ezéchias, car il avait appris sa maladie et son rétablissement.
13 And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.	13 Ezéchias s'en réjouit et montra aux messagers sa chambre du trésor, l'argent, l'or, les aromates,l'huile précieuse, ainsi que son arsenal et tout ce qui se trouvait dans ses magasins. Il n'y eut rien qu'Ezéchias neleur montrât dans son palais et dans tout son domaine.
14 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.	14 Alors le prophète Isaïe vint chez le roi Ezéchias et lui demanda: "Qu'ont dit ces gens-là et d'oùsont-ils venus chez toi?" Ezéchias répondit: "Ils sont venus d'un pays lointain, de Babylone."
15 And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.	15 Isaïe reprit: "Qu'ont-ils vu dans ton palais?" Ezéchias répondit: "Ils ont vu tout ce qu'il y a dansmon palais; il n'y a, dans mes magasins, rien que je ne leur aie montré."
16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.	16 Alors Isaïe dit à Ezéchias: "Ecoute la parole de Yahvé:
17 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house,and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.	17 Des jours viennent où tout ce qui est dans ton palais, tout ce qu'ont amassé tes pères jusqu'à cejour, sera emporté à Babylone, rien ne sera laissé, dit Yahvé.
18 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.	18 Parmi les fils issus de toi, de ceux que tu as engendrés, on en prendra pour être eunuques dans lepalais du roi de Babylone."
19 Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?	19 Ezéchias dit à Isaïe: "C'est une parole favorable de Yahvé que tu annonces." Il pensait en effet:"Pourquoi pas? S'il y a paix et sûreté pendant ma vie!"
20 And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?	20 Le reste de l'histoire d'Ezéchias, tous ses exploits, et comment il a construit la piscine et le canalpour amener l'eau dans la ville, cela n'est-il pas écrit au livre des Annales des rois de Juda?
21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.	21 Ezéchias se coucha avec ses pères et son fils Manassé régna à sa place.
