1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.	1 En ces jours-là Ézékias fut atteint d’une maladie mortelle. Le prophète Isaïe, fils d’Amos, vint le trouver et lui dit: “Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Mets ordre à ta maison car tu vas mourir. Tu n’en réchapperas pas.”
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,	2 Alors Ézékias se tourna le visage contre le mur et fit cette prière à Yahvé:
3 I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.	3 “Ah Yahvé, je t’en supplie, rappelle-toi comment j’ai marché devant toi avec sincérité et d’un cœur fidèle! J’ai fait ce qui est juste à tes yeux.” Et Ézékias pleura, pleura beaucoup.
4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,	4 Isaïe n’était pas encore sorti de la cour du milieu, lorsque la parole de Yahvé lui fut adressée:
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.	5 “Retourne et va dire à Ézékias, chef de mon peuple: Voici ce que dit Yahvé, le Dieu de David, ton père: J’ai entendu ta prière et j’ai vu tes larmes. Je vais te guérir, dans trois jours tu monteras à la Maison de Yahvé.
6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.	6 Je rajouterai 15 années à ta vie. De plus je te délivrerai, toi et cette ville, de la main du roi d’Assyrie, je protégerai cette ville à cause de moi et de mon serviteur David.”
7 And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.	7 20:8 Ézékias dit à Isaïe: “Comment être sûr que Yahvé me guérira et que dans trois jours je monterai à la Maison de Yahvé? Je voudrais un signe.”
8 And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?	8 20:9 Isaïe répondit: “Voici le signe que Yahvé te donne pour te montrer qu’il accomplira la parole qu’il a dite. Veux-tu que l’ombre avance de 10 degrés ou qu’elle recule de 10 degrés?”
9 And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forth ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?	9 20:10 Ézékias lui dit: “Ce n’est pas difficile pour l’ombre d’avancer de 10 degrés, mais c’est tout différent si l’ombre recule de 10.”
10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.	10 20:11 Alors le prophète Isaïe pria Yahvé: il fit reculer l’ombre sur 10 degrés qu’elle avait déjà parcourus sur les degrés d’Akaz.
11 And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.	11 20:7 Isaïe dit alors: “Que l’on prenne un gâteau de figues.” On en prit un qu’on plaça sur l’ulcère, et le roi guérit.
12 At that time Berodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.	12 En ce temps-là Mérodak-Baladan, fils de Baladan, roi de Babylone, envoya des lettres et un cadeau à Ézékias; il avait appris en effet comment Ézékias s’était remis de sa maladie.
13 And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.	13 Ézékias en fut si heureux qu’il montra aux envoyés tous ses trésors, l’argent, l’or, les parfums, l’huile parfumée, les armes: en un mot, tout ce qui se trouvait dans ses magasins. Ézékias leur montra absolument tout dans son palais et dans toutes ses dépendances.
14 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.	14 Alors le prophète Isaïe alla trouver le roi Ézékias et lui dit: “Qu’est-ce que ces hommes t’ont dit? D’où viennent-ils te voir?” Ézékias répondit: “Ils arrivent d’un pays lointain, de Babylone.”
15 And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.	15 Isaïe lui dit: “Qu’ont-ils vu dans ton palais?” Ézékias répondit: “Ils ont vu tout ce qu’il y a dans mon palais. Il n’y a rien dans mes magasins que je ne leur aie montré.”
16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.	16 Isaïe dit à Ézékias: “Écoute cette parole de Yahvé:
17 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house,and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.	17 Des jours viendront où l’on emportera à Babylone tout ce qui se trouve dans ton palais, tout ce que tes pères ont entassé jusqu’à ce jour; il n’en restera rien, dit Yahvé.
18 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.	18 On prendra de tes fils issus de toi, ceux que tu as engendrés, et ils seront eunuques dans le palais du roi de Babylone.”
19 Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?	19 Ézékias répondit à Isaïe: “Elle est bonne, cette parole de Yahvé que tu viens de prononcer!” Car il se disait: “Qu’importe, pourvu que durant ma vie il y ait paix et tranquillité.”
20 And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?	20 Le reste des actes d’Ézékias, toute sa bravoure, comment il fit la piscine et le canal pour amener l’eau dans la ville, tout cela n’est-il pas écrit au Livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?
21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.	21 Ézékias se coucha avec ses pères, et son fils Manassé régna à sa place.
