1 And the fifth angel sounded the trumpet, and I saw a star fall from heaven upon the earth, and there was given to him the key of the bottomless pit.	1 O quinto anjo tocou a trombeta, e vi uma estrela caída do céu sobre a terra. Foi-lhe dada a chave do poço do abismo.
2 And he opened the bottomless pit: and the smoke of the pit arose, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke of the pit.	2 Ela abriu o poço do abismo; e subiu um fumo do poço, como fumo de uma grande fornalha, e escureceram-se o sol e o ar com o fumo do poço.
3 And from the smoke of the pit there came out locusts upon the earth. And power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power:	3 Do fumo saíram gafanhotos para a terra, e foi-lhes dado um poder (de fazer mal aos homens), como o poder que têm os escorpiões da terra.
4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree: but only the men who have not the sign of God on their foreheads.	4 E foi-lhes ordenado que não fizessem dano á erva da terra, nem a verdura alguma, nem a árvore alguma, mas sòmente aos homens que não têm o selo de Deus sobre as suas frontes.
5 And it was given unto them that they should not kill them; but that they should torment them five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion when he striketh a man.	5 Foi-lhes concedido, não que os matassem, mas que os atormentassem, durante cinco meses. O tormento que causam é como o tormento do escorpião, quando fere um homem.
6 And in those days men shall seek death, and shall not find it: and they shall desire to die, and death shall fly from them.	6 Naqueles dias, os homens buscarão a morte e não a encontrarão; desejarão morrer e a morte fugirá deles.
7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle: and on their heads were, as it were, crowns like gold: and their faces were as the faces of men.	7 Os gafanhotos eram parecidos a cavalos aparelhados para a batalha; sobre as suas cabeças tinham uma espécie de coroas semelhantes ao ouro, e os seus rostos eram como rostos de homens;
8 And they had hair as the hair of women; and their teeth were as lions:	8 tinham os cabelos como os cabelos das mulheres, e os seus dentes eram como os dentes dos leões;
9 And they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was as the noise of chariots and many horses running to battle.	9 tinham um tórax como uma couraça de ferro, e o ruído das suas asas era como o ruído de carros de muitos cavalos que correm ao combate.
10 And they had tails like to scorpions, and there were stings in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had over them	10 Têm caudas semelhantes às dos escorpiões, e aguilhões nas suas caudas, em que está o poder de fazer mal aos homens durante cinco meses;
11 A king, the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek Apollyon; in Latin Exterminans,	11 têm sobre si como rei o anjo do abismo, chamado em hebreu Abadon e em grego Apolion.
12 One woe is past, and behold there come yet two woes more hereafter.	12 O primeiro ai já passou, e eis que vêm ainda dois ais depois destas coisas.
13 And the sixth angel sounded the trumpet: and I heard a voice from the four horns of the great altar, which is before the eyes of God,	13 O sexto anjo tocou a trombeta, e ouvi uma voz que saía dos quatro cantos do altar de ouro, que está diante da face de Deus,
14 Saying to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet: Loose the four angels, who are bound in the great river Euphrates.	14 a qual dizia ao sexto anjo, que tinha a trombeta: "Solta os quatro anjos que estão atados sobre o grande rio Eufrates."
15 And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year: for to kill the third part of men.	15 Então foram desatados os quatro anjos que estavam preparados para a hora, dia, mês e ano, a fim de matarem a terça parte dos homens.
16 And the number of the army of horsemen was twenty thousand times ten thousand. And I heard the number of them.	16 O número dos de cavalaria era de duas miríades de miríades: ouvi dizer o seu número.
17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: and they that sat on them, had breastplates of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone, and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions: and from their mouths proceeded fire, and smoke, and brimstone.	17 Eis como vi na visão os cavalos e os que estavam montados neles: (estes) tinham couraças de cor de fogo, de jacinto e de enxofre. As cabeças dos cavalos são como cabeças de leões, e da sua boca sai fogo, fumo e enxofre,
18 And by these three plagues was slain the third part of men, by the fire and by the smoke and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.	18 Por estas três pragas, isto é, pelo fogo, pelo fumo e pelo enxofre, que saíam da sua boca, foi morta a terça parte dos homens.
19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For, their tails are like to serpents, and have heads: and with them they hurt.	19 O poder dos cavalos está na sua boca e nas suas caudas; com efeito, as suas caudas assemelham-se a serpentes, têm cabeças, e é com elas que fazem mal.
20 And the rest of the men, who were not slain by these plagues, did not do penance from the works of their hands, that they should not adore devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and wood, which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:	20 Os outros homens, que não foram mortos por estas pragas, não fizeram penitência das obras das suas mãos: continuaram a adorar os demônios e os ídolos de ouro, de prata, de bronze, de pedra e de pau, que não podem ver, nem ouvir, nem andar.
21 Neither did they penance from their murders, nor from their sorceries, nor from their fornication, nor from their thefts.	21 Não fizeram penitência dos seus homicídios, nem dos seus malefícios, nem da sua fornicação, nem dos seus furtos.
