¹ And the lot of the sons of Joseph fell from the Jordan over against Jericho and the waters thereof, on the east: the wilderness which goeth up from Jericho to the mountain of Bethel:	¹ Le lot des fils de Joseph partait à l'est du Jourdain de Jéricho -- les eaux de Jéricho --, c'est le désertqui monte de Jéricho dans la montagne de Béthel;
² And goeth out from Bethel to Luza: and passeth the border of Archi, to Ataroth,	² puis il partait de Béthel vers Luz et passait vers la frontière des Arkites à Atarot;
³ And goeth down westward, by the border of Jephleti, unto the borders of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gazer :and the countries of it are ended by the great sea:	³ il descendait ensuite à l'ouest vers la frontière des Yaphlétites jusqu'à la frontière de Bet-Horôn-le-Bas et jusqu'à Gézer, d'où il aboutissait à la mer.
⁴ And Manasses and Ephraim the children of Joseph possessed it.	⁴ Tel fut l'héritage des fils de Joseph, Manassé et Ephraïm.
⁵ And the border of the children of Ephraim was according to their kindreds: and their possession towards the east was Ataroth-addar unto Beth-horon the upper.	⁵ Quant au territoire des fils d'Ephraïm selon leurs clans, la frontière de leur héritage était Atrot-Arakjusqu'à Bet-Horôn-le-Haut,
⁶ And the confines go out unto the sea: but Machmethath looketh to the north, and it goeth round the borders eastward into Thanath-selo: and passeth along on the east side to Janoe.	⁶ puis la frontière aboutissait à la mer... le Mikmetat au nord, et la frontière tournait à l'orient versTaanat-Silo qu'elle traversait à l'est en direction de Yanoah;
⁷ And it goeth down from Janoe into Ataroth and Naaratha: and it cometh to Jericho, and goeth out to the Jordan.	⁷ elle descendait de Yanoah à Atarot et à Naara, et touchait Jéricho pour aboutir au Jourdain.
⁸ From Taphua it passeth on towards the sea into the valley of reeds, and the goings out thereof are at the most salt sea. This is the possession of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families.	⁸ De Tappuah, la frontière allait vers l'occident, au torrent de Qana, et aboutissait à la mer. Tel futl'héritage de la tribu des fils d'Ephraïm, selon leurs clans,
⁹ And there were cities with their villages separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the possession of the children of Manasses.	⁹ outre les villes réservées aux fils d'Ephraïm au milieu de l'héritage des fils de Manassé, toutes cesvilles et leurs villages.
¹⁰ And the children of Ephraim slew not the Chanaanite, who dwelt in Gazer: and the Chanaanite dwelt in the midst of Ephraim until this day, paying tribute.	¹⁰ Les Cananéens habitant Gézer ne furent point dépossédés, et ils demeurèrent au milieu d'Ephraïmjusqu'aujourd'hui, soumis à la corvée.
