And Jesus being come out of the temple, went away. And his disciples came to shew him the buildings of the temple.1 Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple.
And he answering, said to them: Do you see all these things? Amen I say to you there shall not be left here a stone upon a stone that shall not be destroyed.2 But he answered them, "You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another, that will not be thrown down."
And when he was sitting on mount Olivet, the disciples came to him privately, saying: Tell us when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the consummation of the world?3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?"
And Jesus answering, said to them: Take heed that no man seduce you:4 And Jesus answered them, "Take heed that no one leads you astray.
For many will come in my name saying, I am Christ: and they will seduce many.5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray.
And you shall hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not troubled. For these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be pestilences, and famines, and earthquakes in places:7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places:
Now all these are the beginnings of sorrows.8 all this is but the beginning of the birth-pangs.
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall put you to death: and you shall be hated by all nations for my name's sake.9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation, and put you to death; and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.
And then shall many be scandalized: and shall betray one another: and shall hate one another.10 And then many will fall away, and betray one another, and hate one another.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall seduce many.11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.
And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold.12 And because wickedness is multiplied, most men's love will grow cold.
But he that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved.13 But he who endures to the end will be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom, shall be preached in the whole world, for a testimony to all nations, and then shall the consummation come.14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come.
When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand.15 "So when you see the desolating sacrilege spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
Then they that are in Judea, let them flee to the mountains:16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;
And he that is on the housetop, let him not come down to take any thing out of his house:17 let him who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house;
And he that is in the field, let him not go back to take his coat.18 and let him who is in the field not turn back to take his mantle.
And woe to them that are with child, and that give suck in those days.19 And alas for those who are with child and for those who give suck in those days!
But pray that your flight be not in the winter, or on the sabbath.20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a sabbath.
For there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be.21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.
And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened.22 And if those days had not been shortened, no human being would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
Then if any man shall say to you: Lo here is Christ, or there, do not believe him.23 Then if any one says to you, 'Lo, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect.24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
Behold I have told it to you, beforehand.25 Lo, I have told you beforehand.
If therefore they shall say to you: Behold he is in the desert, go ye not out: Behold he is in the closets, believe it not.26 So, if they say to you, 'Lo, he is in the wilderness,' do not go out; if they say, 'Lo, he is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it.
For as lightning cometh out of the east, and appeareth even into the west: so shall the coming of the Son of man be.27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
Wheresoever the body shall be, there shall the eagles also be gathered together.28 Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all tribes of the earth mourn: and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with much power and majesty.30 then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory;
And he shall send his angels with a trumpet, and a great voice: and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the farthest parts of the heavens to the utmost bounds of them.31 and he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
And from the fig tree learn a parable: When the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves come forth, you know that summer is nigh.32 "From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.
So you also, when you shall see all these things, know ye that it is nigh, even at the doors.33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.
Amen I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all these things take place.
Heaven and earth shall pass, but my words shall not pass.35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone.36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
And as in the days of Noe, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.37 As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, even till that day in which Noe entered into the ark,38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,
And they knew not till the flood came, and took them all away; so also shall the coming of the Son of man be.39 and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
Then two shall be in the field: one shall be taken, and one shall be left.40 Then two men will be in the field; one is taken and one is left.
Two women shall be grinding at the mill: one shall be taken, and one shall be left.41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one is taken and one is left.
Watch ye therefore, because ye know not what hour your Lord will come.42 Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
But know this ye, that if the goodman of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would certainly watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken open.43 But know this, that if the householder had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched and would not have let his house be broken into.
Wherefore be you also ready, because at what hour you know not the Son of man will come.44 Therefore you also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Who, thinkest thou, is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath appointed over his family, to give them meat in season.45 "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant, whom when his lord shall come he shall find so doing.46 Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing.
Amen I say to you, he shall place him over all his goods.47 Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions.
But if that evil servant shall say in his heart: My lord is long a coming:48 But if that wicked servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed,'
And shall begin to strike his fellow servants, and shall eat and drink with drunkards:49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eats and drinks with the drunken,
The lord of that servant shall come in a day that he hopeth not, and at an hour that he knoweth not:50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know,
And shall separate him, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.51 and will punish him, and put him with the hypocrites; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.
