1 And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto mount Olivet, then Jesus sent two disciples,	1 Cuando se acercaban a Jerusalén y llegaron a Betfagé, en el monte de los Olivos, envió a dos discípulos
2 Saying to them: Go ye into the village that is over against you, and immediately you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them and bring them to me.	2 diciéndoles: «Id a la aldea de enfrente, encontraréis enseguida una borrica atada con su pollino, los desatáis y me los traéis.
3 And if any man shall say anything to you, say ye, that the Lord hath need of them: and forthwith he will let them go.	3 Si alguien os dice algo, contestadle que el Señor los necesita y los devolverá pronto».
4 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:	4 Esto ocurrió para que se cumpliese lo dicho por medio del profeta:
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion: Behold thy king cometh to thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of her that is used to the yoke.	5 «Decid a la hija de Sión: “Mira a tu rey, que viene a ti, humilde, montado en una borrica, en un pollino, hijo de acémila”».
6 And the disciples going, did as Jesus commanded them.	6 Fueron los discípulos e hicieron lo que les había mandado Jesús:
7 And they brought the ass and the colt, and laid their garments upon them, and made him sit thereon.	7 trajeron la borrica y el pollino, echaron encima sus mantos, y Jesús se montó.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way: and others cut boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way:	8 La multitud alfombró el camino con sus mantos; algunos cortaban ramas de árboles y alfombraban la calzada.
9 And the multitudes that went before and that followed, cried, saying: Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.	9 Y la gente que iba delante y detrás gritaba: «¡Hosanna al Hijo de David! ¡Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor! ¡Hosanna en las alturas!».
10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, the whole city was moved, saying: Who is this?	10 Al entrar en Jerusalén, toda la ciudad se sobresaltó preguntando: «¿Quién es este?».
11 And the people said: This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth of Galilee.	11 La multitud contestaba: «Es el profeta Jesús, de Nazaret de Galilea».
12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the chairs of them that sold doves:	12 Entró Jesús en el templo y echó fuera a todos los que vendían y compraban en el templo, volcó las mesas de los cambistas y los puestos de los vendedores de palomas.
13 And he saith to them: It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.	13 Y les dijo: «Está escrito: “Mi casa será casa de oración, pero vosotros la habéis hecho una cueva de bandidos”».
14 And there came to him the blind and the lame in the temple; and he healed them.	14 Se le acercaron en el templo ciegos y cojos, y los curó.
15 And the chief priests and scribes, seeing the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying: Hosanna to the son of David; were moved with indignation.	15 Pero los sumos sacerdotes y los escribas, al ver los milagros que había hecho y a los niños que gritaban en el templo «¡Hosanna al Hijo de David!», se indignaron
16 And said to him: Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus said to them: Yea, have you never read: Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise?	16 y le dijeron: «¿Oyes lo que dicen estos?». Y Jesús les respondió: «Sí; ¿no habéis leído nunca: “De la boca de los pequeñuelos y de los niños de pecho sacaré una alabanza”?».
17 And leaving them, he went out of the city into Bethania, and remained there.	17 Y dejándolos salió de la ciudad, a Betania, donde pasó la noche.
18 And in the morning, returning into the city, he was hungry.	18 De mañana, camino de la ciudad, tuvo hambre.
19 And seeing a certain fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves only, and he saith to it: May no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.	19 Viendo una higuera junto al camino se acercó, pero no encontró en ella nada más que hojas y le dijo: «¡Que nunca jamás brote fruto de ti!». E inmediatamente se secó la higuera.
20 And the disciples seeing it wondered, saying: How is it presently withered away?	20 Al verlo los discípulos se admiraron y decían: «¿Cómo es que la higuera se ha secado de repente?».
21 And Jesus answering, said to them: Amen, I say to you, if you shall have faith, and stagger not, not only this of the fig tree shall you do, but also if you shall say to this mountain, Take up and cast thyself into the sea, it shall be done.	21 Jesús les dijo: «En verdad os digo que si tuvierais fe y no vacilaseis, no solo haríais lo de la higuera, sino que diríais a este monte: “Quítate y arrójate al mar”, y así se realizaría.
22 And in all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.	22 Todo lo que pidáis orando con fe, lo recibiréis».
23 And when he was come into the temple, there came to him, as he was teaching, the chief priests and ancients of the people, saying: By what authority dost thou these things? and who hath given thee this authority?	23 Jesús llegó al templo y, mientras enseñaba, se le acercaron los sumos sacerdotes y los ancianos del pueblo para preguntarle: «¿Con qué autoridad haces esto? ¿Quién te ha dado semejante autoridad?».
24 Jesus answering, said to them: I also will ask you one word, which if you shall tell me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.	24 Jesús les replicó: «Os voy a hacer yo también una pregunta; si me la contestáis, os diré yo también con qué autoridad hago esto.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven or from men? But they thought within themselves, saying:	25 El bautismo de Juan ¿de dónde venía, del cielo o de los hombres?». Ellos se pusieron a deliberar: «Si decimos “del cielo”, nos dirá: “¿Por qué no le habéis creído?”.
26 If we shall say, from heaven, he will say to us: Why then did you not believe him? But if we shall say, from men, we are afraid of the multitude: for all held John as a prophet.	26 Si le decimos “de los hombres”, tememos a la gente; porque todos tienen a Juan por profeta».
27 And answering Jesus, they said: We know not. He also said to them: Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.	27 Y respondieron a Jesús: «No sabemos». Él, por su parte, les dijo: «Pues tampoco yo os digo con qué autoridad hago esto.
28 But what think you? A certain man had two sons; and coming to the first, he said: Son, go work to day in my vineyard.	28 ¿Qué os parece? Un hombre tenía dos hijos. Se acercó al primero y le dijo: “Hijo, ve hoy a trabajar en la viña”.
29 And he answering, said: I will not. But afterwards, being moved with repentance, he went.	29 Él le contestó: “No quiero”. Pero después se arrepintió y fue.
30 And coming to the other, he said in like manner. And he answering, said: I go, Sir; and he went not.	30 Se acercó al segundo y le dijo lo mismo. Él le contestó: “Voy, señor”. Pero no fue.
31 Which of the two did the father's will? They say to him: The first. Jesus saith to them: Amen I say to you, that the publicans and the harlots shall go into the kingdom of God before you.	31 ¿Quién de los dos cumplió la voluntad de su padre?». Contestaron: «El primero». Jesús les dijo: «En verdad os digo que los publicanos y las prostitutas van por delante de vosotros en el reino de Dios.
32 For John came to you in the way of justice, and you did not believe him. But the publicans and the harlots believed him: but you, seeing it, did not even afterwards repent, that you might believe him.	32 Porque vino Juan a vosotros enseñándoos el camino de la justicia y no le creísteis; en cambio, los publicanos y prostitutas le creyeron. Y, aun después de ver esto, vosotros no os arrepentisteis ni le creísteis».
33 Hear ye another parable. There was a man an householder, who planted a vineyard, and made a hedge round about it, and dug in it a press, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen; and went into a strange country.	33 Escuchad otra parábola: «Había un propietario que plantó una viña, la rodeó con una cerca, cavó en ella un lagar, construyó una torre, la arrendó a unos labradores y se marchó lejos.
34 And when the time of the fruits drew nigh, he sent his servants to the husbandmen that they might receive the fruits thereof.	34 Llegado el tiempo de los frutos, envió sus criados a los labradores para percibir los frutos que le correspondían.
35 And the husbandmen laying hands on his servants, beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.	35 Pero los labradores, agarrando a los criados, apalearon a uno, mataron a otro y a otro lo apedrearon.
36 Again he sent other servants more than the former; and they did to them in like manner.	36 Envió de nuevo otros criados, más que la primera vez, e hicieron con ellos lo mismo.
37 And last of all he sent to them his son, saying: They will reverence my son.	37 Por último, les mandó a su hijo diciéndose: “Tendrán respeto a mi hijo”.
38 But the husbandmen seeing the son, said among themselves: This is the heir: come, let us kill him, and we shall have his inheritance.	38 Pero los labradores, al ver al hijo se dijeron: “Este es el heredero: venid, lo matamos y nos quedamos con su herencia”.
39 And taking him, they cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him.	39 Y agarrándolo, lo sacaron fuera de la viña y lo mataron.
40 When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those husbandmen?	40 Cuando vuelva el dueño de la viña, ¿qué hará con aquellos labradores?».
41 They say to him: He will bring those evil men to an evil end; and will let out his vineyard to other husbandmen, that shall render him the fruit in due season.	41 Le contestan: «Hará morir de mala muerte a esos malvados y arrendará la viña a otros labradores que le entreguen los frutos a su tiempo».
42 Jesus saith to them: Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? By the Lord this has been done; and it is wonderful in our eyes.	42 Y Jesús les dice: «¿No habéis leído nunca en la Escritura: “La piedra que desecharon los arquitectos es ahora la piedra angular. Es el Señor quien lo ha hecho, ha sido un milagro patente”?
43 Therefore I say to you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation yielding the fruits thereof.	43 Por eso os digo que se os quitará a vosotros el reino de Dios y se dará a un pueblo que produzca sus frutos.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone, shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it shall grind him to powder.	44 Y el que cayere sobre esta piedra se destrozará, y a aquel sobre quien cayere, lo aplastará».
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they knew that he spoke of them.	45 Los sumos sacerdotes y los fariseos, al oír sus parábolas, comprendieron que hablaba de ellos.
46 And seeking to lay hands on him, they feared the multitudes: because they held him as a prophet.	46 Y, aunque intentaban echarle mano, temieron a la gente, que lo tenía por profeta.
