1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, and Aaron, saying:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron et dit:
2 Take the sum of the sons of Caath from the midst of the Levites, by their houses and families.	2 "Faites le recensement de ceux des Lévites qui sont fils de Qehat, par clans et par familles:
3 From thirty years old and upward, to fifty years old, of all that go in to stand and to minister in the tabernacle of the covenant.	3 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, qui devraient faire campagne, et qui accompliront leur fonctiondans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
4 This is the service of the sons of Caath:	4 Voici quel sera le service des fils de Qehat dans la Tente du Rendez-vous: la charge des chosestrès saintes.
5 When the camp is to set forward, Aaron and his sons shall go into the tabernacle of the covenant, and the holy of holies, and shall take down the veil that hangeth before the door, and shall wrap up the ark of the testimony in it,	5 Quand on lèvera le camp, Aaron et ses fils viendront déposer le rideau du voile. Ils en couvrirontl'arche du Témoignage.
6 And shall cover it again with a cover of violet skins, and shall spread over it a cloth all of violet, and shall put in the bars.	6 Ils mettront par-dessus une housse en cuir fin, sur laquelle ils étendront une étoffe toute de pourpreviolette. Puis ils ajusteront les barres de l'arche.
7 They shall wrap up also the table of proposition in a cloth of violet, and shall put with it the censers and little mortars, the cups and bowls to pour out the libations: the leaves shall be always on it:	7 Sur la table d'oblation, ils étendront une étoffe de pourpre, sur laquelle ils déposeront les plats, lescoupes, les patères et les aiguières à libation; le pain de l'oblation perpétuelle y sera aussi.
8 And they shall spread over it a cloth of scarlet, which again they shall cover with a covering of violet skins, and shall put in the bars.	8 Ils étendront par-dessus une étoffe de cramoisi, qu'ils recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin. Puis ilsajusteront les barres de la table.
9 They shall take also a cloth of violet wherewith they shall cover the candlestick with the lamps and tongs thereof and the snuffers and all the oil vessels, which are necessary for the dressing of the lamps :	9 Ils prendront alors une étoffe de pourpre, dont ils couvriront le candélabre de lumière, ses lampes,ses mouchettes et ses cendriers, et tous les vases à huile employés pour son service.
10 And over all they shall put a cover of violet skins and put in the bars.	10 Ils le déposeront avec tous ses accessoires sur une housse en cuir fin et le placeront sur lebrancard.
11 And they shall wrap up the golden altar also in a cloth of violet, and shall spread over it a cover of violet skins, and put in the bars.	11 Sur l'autel d'or, ils étendront une étoffe de pourpre, et le recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin.Puis ils y ajusteront les barres.
12 All the vessels wherewith they minister in the sanctuary, they shall wrap up in a cloth of violet, and shall spread over it a cover of violet skins, and put in the bars.	12 Ils prendront ensuite tous les objets employés pour le service du sanctuaire. Ils les déposeront surune étoffe de pourpre, ils les recouvriront d'une housse en cuir fin, et mettront le tout sur le brancard.
13 They shall cleanse the altar also from the ashes, and shall wrap it up in a purple cloth,	13 Après avoir retiré de l'autel ses cendres grasses, ils étendront dessus une étoffe d'écarlate,
14 And shall put it with all the vessels that they use in the ministry thereof, that is to say, firepans, fleshhooks and forks, pothooks and shovels. They shall cover all the vessels of the altar together with a covering of violet skins, and shall put in the bars.	14 sur laquelle ils déposeront tous les objets que l'on emploie pour officier, les encensoirs, lesfourchettes, les pelles, les coupes d'aspersion, tous les accessoires de l'autel. Ils étendront par-dessus une housseen cuir fin; puis ils ajusteront les barres.
15 And when Aaron and his sons have wrapped up the sanctuary and the vessels thereof at the removing of the camp, then shall the sons of Caath enter in to carry the things wrapped up: and they shall not touch the vessels of the sanctuary, lest they die. These are the burdens of the sons of Caath: in the tabernacle of the covenant:	15 Lorsque Aaron et ses fils auront fini d'envelopper les choses sacrées et tous leurs accessoires, aumoment de lever le camp, les fils de Qehat viendront les porter, mais sans toucher à ce qui est consacré: ilsmourraient. Telle est la charge des fils de Qehat dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
16 And over them shall be Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, to whose charge pertaineth the oil to dress the lamps, and the sweet incense, and the sacrifice, that is always offered, and the oil of unction, and whatsoever pertaineth to the service of the tabernacle, and of all the vessels that are in the sanctuary.	16 Mais à Eléazar, fils d'Aaron le prêtre, il incombera de veiller à l'huile du luminaire, aux parfumsd'herbes odorantes, à l'oblation perpétuelle, à l'huile d'onction; il devra veiller sur toute la Demeure, sur tout cequi s'y trouve: les choses sacrées et leurs accessoires."
17 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:	17 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Aaron. Il dit:
18 Destroy not the people of Caath from the midst of the Levites:	18 "Ne retranchez pas du nombre des Lévites la tribu des clans Qehatites.
19 But do this to them, that they may live, and not die, by touching the holies of holies. Aaron and his sons shall go in, and they shall appoint every man his work, and shall divide the burdens that every man is to carry.	19 Agissez donc ainsi pour eux, afin qu'ils vivent et n'encourent pas la mort en s'approchant deschoses très saintes: Aaron et ses fils viendront placer chacun d'eux au lieu de son service et près de son fardeau.
20 Let not others by any curiosity see the things that are in the sanctuary before they be wrapped up, otherwise they shall die.	20 Ils éviteront ainsi d'entrer et de porter le regard, ne fût-ce qu'un instant, sur les choses sacrées: ilsmourraient!"
21 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	21 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
22 Take the sum of the soils of Gerson also by their houses and families and kindreds.	22 "Fais aussi le recensement des fils de Gershôn, par familles et par clans:
23 From thirty Sears old and upward, unto fifty years old. Number them all that go in and minister in the tabernacle of the covenant.	23 Tu recenseras tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne, et qui feront le servicedans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
24 This is the office of the family of the Gersonites :	24 Voici quel sera le service des clans Gershonites, leurs fonctions et leurs fardeaux.
25 To carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the roof of the covenant, the other covering, and the violet covering over all, and the hanging that hangeth in the entry of the tabernacle of the covenant,	25 Ils porteront les tentures de la Demeure, la Tente du Rendez-vous avec sa bâche et la bâche encuir fin qui la recouvre, la portière d'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous,
26 The curtains of the court, and the veil in the entry that is before the tabernacle. 28 This is the service of the family of the Gersonites in the tabernacle of the covenant, and they shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.	28 Tel sera le service des clans Gershonites dans la Tente du Rendez-vous. Leur ministère dépendrad'Itamar, fils d'Aaron le prêtre."
29 Thou shalt reckon up the sons of Merari also by the families and houses of their fathers,	29 "Tu feras le recensement des fils de Merari, par clans et par familles.
30 From thirty years old and upward, unto fifty years old, all that go in to the office of their ministry, and to the service of the covenant of the testimony.	30 Tu feras le recensement de tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans aptes à faire campagne, et qui ferontle service dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
31 These are their burdens: They shall carry the boards of the tabernacle and the bars thereof, the pillars and their sockets,	31 Voici le fardeau qu'ils assumeront, et tout le service qui leur incombera dans la Tente du Rendez-vous: les cadres de la Demeure, ses traverses, ses colonnes et ses socles.
32 The pillars also of the court round about, with their sockets and pins and cords. They shall receive by account all the vessels and furniture, and so shall carry them.	32 Les colonnes qui entourent le parvis, leurs socles, leurs piquets, leurs cordages et tout leurappareil. Vous ferez le relevé de leurs noms avec les objets dont ils assumeront le fardeau.
33 This is the office of the family of the Merarites, and their ministry in the tabernacle of the covenant: and they shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.	33 Tel sera le service des clans Merarites. Pour tout leur service dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, ilsdépendront d'Itamar, fils d'Aaron le prêtre."
34 So Moses and Aaron and the princes of the synagogue reckoned up the sons of Caath, by their kindreds and the houses of their fathers,	34 Moïse, Aaron et les princes de la communauté firent le recensement des fils de Qehat, par clanset par familles;
35 From thirty years old and upward, unto fifty years old, all that go in to the ministry of the tabernacle of the covenant:	35 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne et chargés du service dans la Tente duRendez-vous.
36 And they were found two thousand seven hundred and fifty.	36 On compta pour leurs clans 2.750 recensés.
37 This is the number of the people of Caath that go in to the tabernacle of the covenant: these did Moses and Aaron number according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.	37 Tel fut le nombre des recensés des clans Qehatites, tous ceux qui devraient servir dans la Tentedu Rendez-vous, et que recensèrent Moïse et Aaron, sur l'ordre de Yahvé transmis par Moïse.
38 The sons of Gerson also were numbered by the kindreds and houses of their fathers,	38 On fit le recensement des fils de Gershôn, par clans et par familles:
39 From thirty years old and upward, unto fifty years old, all that go in to minister in the tabernacle of the covenant:	39 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne et chargés du service dans la Tente duRendez-vous.
40 And they were found two thousand six hundred and thirty.	40 On compta 2.630 recensés, par clans et par familles.
41 This is the people of the Gersonites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the word of the Lord.	41 Tel fut le nombre des recensés des clans Gershonites, tous ceux qui devaient servir dans la Tentedu Rendez-vous, et que recensèrent Moïse et Aaron, sur l'ordre de Yahvé.
42 The sons of Merari also were numbered by the kindreds and houses of their fathers,	42 On fit le recensement des clans des fils de Merari par clans et par familles:
43 From thirty years old and upward, unto fifty years old, all that go in to fulfil the rites of the tabernacle of the covenant:	43 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à faire campagne et chargés du service dans la Tente duRendez-vous.
44 And they were found three thousand two hundred.	44 On compta pour leurs clans 3.200 recensés.
45 This is the number of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron reckoned up according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.	45 Tel fut le nombre des recensés des clans Merarites, que recensèrent Moïse et Aaron, sur l'ordre deYahvé transmis par Moïse.
46 All that were reckoned up of the Levites, and whom Moses and Aaron and the princes of Israel took by name, by the kindreds and houses of their fathers,	46 Le nombre total des Lévites que Moïse, Aaron et les princes d'Israël recensèrent par clans et parfamilles --
47 From thirty years old and upward, until fifty years old, that go into the ministry of the tabernacle, and to carry the burdens,	47 tous les hommes de 30 à 50 ans, aptes à servir dans le culte et à servir dans le service du transportde la Tente du Rendez-vous --
48 Were in all eight thousand five hundred and eighty.	48 se monta à 8.580 recensés.
49 Moses reckoned them up according to the word of the Lord, every one according to their office and burdens, as the Lord had commanded him.	49 Sur l'ordre de Yahvé transmis par Moïse, on fit leur recensement en attribuant à chacun sonservice et son fardeau; ils furent recensés comme Yahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse.
