Jonah 2

1 Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.	1 Le Seigneur prépara un grand poisson, qui engloutit Jonas; et Jonas fut dans le ventre du poisson trois jours et trois nuits.
2 And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.	2 Jonas pria le Seigneur son Dieu dans le ventre du poisson.
3 And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice.	3 et il dit: J'ai crié au Seigneur dans ma tribulation, et Il m'a exaucé; du sein de l'enfer j'ai crié, et Vous avez entendu ma voix.
4 And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me.	4 Vous m'avez jeté dans l'abîme, au coeur de la mer, et les courants m'ont entouré; toutes Vos vagues et tous Vos flots ont passé sur moi.
5 And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again.	5 Et j'ai dit: Je suis rejeté de devant Vos yeux; néanmoins je verrai encore Votre temple saint.
6 The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.	6 Les eaux m'ont entouré jusqu'à m'ôter la vie; l'abîme m'a enveloppé, la mer a couvert ma tête.
7 I went down to the lowest parts of the mountains: the bars of the earth have shut me up for ever: and thou wilt bring up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.	7 Je suis descendu jusqu'aux racines des montagnes, les verrous de la terre m'ont enfermé à jamais; et pourtant Vous préserverez ma vie de la corruption, Seigneur mon Dieu.
8 When my soul was in distress within me, I remembered the Lord: that my prayer may come to thee, unto thy holy temple.	8 Quand mon âme était dans l'angoisse au dedans de moi, je me suis souvenu du Seigneur, pour que ma prière monte vers Vous, jusqu'à Votre temple saint.
9 They that are vain observe vanities, forsake their own mercy.	9 Ceux qui s'attachent inutilement à la vanité abandonnent la miséricorde qui les aurait sauvés.
10 But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord.	10 Mais moi, je Vous offrirai des sacrifices avec des cris de louanges; tous les voeux que j'ai faits au Seigneur, je les rendrai pour mon salut.
11 And the Lord spoke to the fish: and it vomited out Jonas upon the dry land.	11 Alors le Seigneur commanda au poisson, qui vomit Jonas sur le rivage.
