Hosea 3

DOUAI-RHEIMS	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 And the Lord said to me: Go yet again, and love a woman beloved of her friend, and an adulteress : as the Lord loveth the children of Israel, and they look to strange gods, and love the husks of the grapes.	1 Il Signore mi disse: "Va' di nuovo, ama la donna amata da suo marito, benché adultera, come il Signore ama i figli d'Israele, benché essi si volgano verso altri dèi e amino le schiacciate di uve passe!".
2 And I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for a core of barley, and for half a core of barley.	2 Io dunque me la comprai con quindici pezzi d'argento, una misura e mezza di orzo.
3 And I said to her: Thou shalt wait for me many days: thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt be no man's, and I also will wait for thee.	3 Io le dissi: "Per un lungo periodo rimarrai al tuo posto con me, non ti prostituirai e non sarai di un altro e neppure io verrò da te!".
4 For the children of Israel shall sit many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without altar, and without ephod, and without theraphim.	4 Perché per un lungo periodo i figli d'Israele saranno senza re e senza principe, senza sacrificio e senza stele, senza efod e senza terafim.
5 And after this the children of Israel shall return, and shall seek the Lord their God, and David their king: and they shall fear the Lord, and his goodness in the last days.	5 Dopo ciò i figli d'Israele si convertiranno, cercheranno il Signore loro Dio e Davide loro re; trepidanti accorreranno al Signore e ai suoi beni nei giorni avvenire.
