1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 Mi fu rivolta la parola di Jahvè:
2 Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre: Thus saith the Lord God: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said: I am God, and T sit in the chair of God in the heart of the sea: whereas thou art a man, and not God: and hast set thy heart as if it were the heart of God.	2 «Figlio dell’uomo, parla al principe di Tiro: “Così dice il Signore Jahvè: Poiché il tuo cuore si è inorgoglito e hai detto: Io sono un dio, abito in una dimora divina, in mezzo al mare mentre tu sei un uomo e non un dio; poiché hai reso il tuo cuore come il cuore di Dio
3 Behold thou art wiser than Daniel: no secret is hid from thee.	3 eccoti più saggio di Daniele: nessun segreto ti è nascosto;
4 In thy wisdom and thy understanding thou hast made thyself strong: and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures.	4 con la saggezza e la perspicacia ti sei procurato la ricchezza ammucchiando oro e argento nei tuoi tesori,
5 By the greatness of thy wisdom, and by thy traffic thou hast increased thy strength: and thy heart is lifted up with thy strength.	5 con la tua grande saggezza, con il tuo commercio, hai accresciuto le tue ricchezze e si è inorgoglito il tuo cuore per esse”;
6 Therefore, thus saith the Lord God: Because thy heart is lifted up as the heart of God:	6 perciò così dice il Signore Jahvè: * Poiché tu nutri sentimenti simili a quelli di un dio,
7 Therefore behold, I will bring upon thee strangers the strongest of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy beauty.	7 perciò ecco, sto per mandare contro di te stranieri, i più violenti tra i popoli; essi snuderanno le spade contro la tua bella saggezza e profaneranno il tuo splendore.
8 They shall kill thee, and bring thee down: and thou shalt die the death of them that are slain in the heart of the sea.	8 Ti precipiteranno nella fossa e farai la tormentosa fine dei trafitti in mezzo al mare.
9 Wilt thou yet say before them that slay thee: I am God; whereas thou art a man, and not God, in the hand of them that slay thee?	9 Oserai ancora dire: Io sono dio, innanzi ai tuoi uccisori? Tu sei uomo e non dio, in balia dei tuoi uccisori.
10 Thou shalt die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.	10 Farai la morte degli incirconcisi per opera di stranieri, perché io l’ho detto”» oracolo del Signore Jahvè.
11 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre:	11 Mi fu rivolta la parola di Jahvè:
12 And say to him: Thus saith the Lord God: Thou wast the seal of resemblance, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.	12 «Figlio dell’uomo, intona un’elegia sul re di Tiro; gli parlerai: “Così dice il Signore Jahvè: Tu eri un suggello di perfezione, pieno di saggezza e di perfetta bellezza.
13 Thou wast in the pleasures of the paradise of God: every precious stone teas thy covering: the sardius, the topaz, and the jasper, the chrysolite, and the onyx, and the beryl, the sapphire, and the carbuncle, and the emerald: gold the work of thy beauty: and thy pipes were prepared in the day that thou wast created.	13 Tu eri nell’Eden, giardino di Dio, ricoperto d’ogni specie di pietre preziose, rubino, topazio, diaspro, crisolito, onice, berillo, zaffiro, carbonchio e smeraldo; di oro era il lavoro dei tuoi orli e castoni, preparati il giorno in cui fosti creato.
14 Thou a cherub stretched out, and protecting, and I set thee in the holy mountain of God, thou hast walked in the midst of the stones of fire.	14 Come fulgido Cherubino protettore ti posi: eri sul monte santo di Dio e camminavi tra pietre di fuoco.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day of thy creation, until iniquity was found in thee.	15 Eri perfetto nella tua condotta dal giorno in cui fosti creato, finché in te si trovò l’iniquità.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise, thy inner parts were filled with iniquity, and thou hast sinned: and I cast thee out from the mountain of God, and destroyed thee, O covering cherub, out of the midst of the stones of fire.	16 Con tuo copioso commercio ti riempisti di misfatti peccando e io ti cacciai dal monte di Dio, e ti ho strappato, o Cherubino protettore, dalle pietre di fuoco.
17 And thy heart was lifted up with thy beauty: thou best lost thy wisdom in thy beauty, I have cast thee to the ground: I have set thee before the face of kings, that they might behold thee.	17 Il tuo cuore si è inorgoglito per la tua bellezza; per il tuo splendore hai perduto la saggezza e io ti ho gettato a terra, ti ho posto dinanzi ai re perché ti osservino.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thy iniquities, and by the iniquity of thy traffic: therefore I will bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, to devour thee, and I will make thee as ashes upon the earth in the sight of all that see thee.	18 Con la tua grande iniquità, con l’ingiusto commercio hai profanato i tuoi santuari; io, perciò, ho fatto uscire da te un fuoco che ti ha divorato e ti ho ridotto in cenere sulla terra, sotto gli occhi di tutti coloro che ti guardavano.
19 All that shall see thee among the nations, shall be astonished at thee: thou art brought to nothing, and thou shalt never be any more.	19 Quanti fra i popoli ti conoscevano restano attoniti per te; sei tutta terrori e sei finita per sempre”».
20 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	20 Mi fu rivolta la parola di Jahvè:
21 Son of man, set thy face against Sidon: and thou shalt prophesy of it,	21 «Figlio dell’uomo, volgi la faccia verso Sidone e profetizza contro di essa;
22 And shalt say: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I come against thee, Sidon, and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall execute judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.	22 parlerai: “Così dice il Signore Jahvè: Eccomi contro di te, Sidone; sarò glorificato in te e sapranno che io sono Jahvè quando avrò compiuto in essa la mia giusta vendetta, mostrando la mia santità.
23 And I will send into her pestilence, and blood in her streets: and they shall fall being slain by the sword on all sides in the midst thereof: and they shall know that I am the Lord.	23 Manderò in essa peste e sangue per le sue strade; così, in essa, si cadrà trafitti di spada che graverà dappertutto; sapranno che io sono Jahvè.
24 And the house of Israel shall have no more a stumblingblock of bitterness, nor a thorn causing pain on every side round about them, of them that are against them: and they shall know that I am the Lord God.	24 Non ci sarà più per la casa di Israele spina pungente, aculeo lacerante fra tutti i suoi vicini che la disprezzano; sapranno che o sono il Signore Jahvè”».
25 Thus saith the Lord God: When I shall have gathered together the house of Israel out of the people among whom they are scattered: I will be sanctified in them before the Gentiles: and they shall dwell in their own land, which I gave to my servant Jacob.	25 Così dice il Signore Jahvè: «Quando raccoglierò la casa di Israele di tra i popoli dove è stata dispersa, sarò glorificato in essi al cospetto delle genti; abiteranno nel loro paese che diedi al mio servitore Giacobbe.
26 And they shall dwell therein secure, and they shall build houses, and shall plant vineyards, and shall dwell with confidence, when I shall have executed judgments upon all that are their enemies round about: and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.	26 Vi abiteranno in tranquillità, costruendo case e piantando vigne; rimarranno tranquilli, mentre compirò la mia giusta vendetta su tutti quei loro vicini che li disprezzano. Saprete che io sono Jahvè loro Dio».
