1 The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds come from the south, it cometh from the desert from a terrible land.	1 Oráculo sobre o deserto do mar. Como vêm os tufões da parte do meio-dia, assim vem isto do deserto de uma terra medonha.
2 A grievous vision is told me: he that is unfaithful dealeth unfaithfully : and he that is a spoiler, spoileth. Go up, O Elam, besiege, O Mede: I have made all the mourning thereof to cease.	2 Anunciada me foi uma terrível visão; O saqueador saqueia, o assolador devasta. Marcha, ó Elam! Sitia, ó Medo! Faço cessar todos os gemidos.
3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain, anguish hath taken hold of me, as the anguish of a woman in labour: I fell down at the hearing of it, I was troubled at the seeing of it.	3 Por esta causa se encheram de dor as minhas entranhas, a angústia apoderou-se de mim. como a angústia duma mulher na hora do parto. Fiquei atemorizado quando tal ouvi, fiquei de todo perturbado quando o vi.
4 My heart failed, darkness amazed me: Babylon my beloved is become a wonder to me.	4 O meu coração fica desvairado, o terror invade-me; a noite que (antes) desejava, (agora) enche-me de pavor.
5 Prepare the table, behold in the watchtower them that eat and drink: arise, ye princes, take up the shield.	5 Põe-se a mesa, estende-se o mantel, come-se e bebe-se. Levantai-vos, príncipes, tomai o escudo.
6 For thus hath the Lord said to me: Go, and set a watchman: and whatsoever he shall see, let him tell.	6 Porque o Senhor me disse estas coisas: Vai e põe uma sentinela, que anuncie tudo o que vir.
7 And he saw a chariot with two horsemen, a rider upon an ass, and a rider upon a camel: and he beheld them diligently with much heed.	7 Se ela vir cavaleiros, dois a dois, montados sobre asnos, montados sobre camelos, preste atenção, muita atenção.
8 And a lion cried out: I am upon the watchtower of the Lord, standing continually by day: and I am upon my ward, standing whole nights.	8 Depois gritou (como) um leão: Eu estou no posto em que o Senhor me colocou, e nele permaneço todo o dia, estou passando na minha guarda noites inteiras.
9 Behold this man cometh, the rider upon the chariot with two horsemen, and he answered, and said: Babylon is fallen, she is fallen, and all the graven gods thereof are broken unto the ground.	9 Eis que chega cavalaria, cavaleiros, dois a dois. Retomou a palavra e disse: Caiu, caiu Babilônia! Todas as estátuas dos seus deuses se fizeram em pedaços, contra a terra.
10 O my thrashing and the children of my door, that which I have heard of the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared unto you.	10 Ó vós, debulha minha, grão da minha eira, o que eu ouvi ao Senhor dos exércitos, ao Deus de Israel, isso vos anuncio.
11 The burden of Duma calleth to me out of Seir: Watchman, what of the eight? watchman, what of the night?	11 Oráculo sobre Duma. Clamam para mim de Seir: Sentinela, que houve esta noite? Sentinela, que houve esta noite?
12 The watchman said: The morning cometh, also the night: if you seek, seek: return, come.	12 A sentinela respondeu: Chega a manhã, e a noite também. Perguntai, se quereis, voltai a perguntar.
13 The burden in Arabia. In the forest at evening you shall sleep, in the paths of Dedanim.	13 Oráculo sobre a Arábia. Passareis a noite nos matagais da estepe, caravanas de Dedan.
14 Meeting the thirsty bring him water, you that inhabit the land of the south, meet with bread him that fleeth.	14 Vós os que habitais a terra de Tema, saindo ao encontro do sequioso, trazei-lhe água, socorrei com pão os fugitivos,
15 For they are fled from before the swords, from the sword that hung over them, from the bent bow, from the face of a grievous battle.	15 pois eles fugiram diante da espada, diante da espada desembainhada, diante do arco tenso, diante do rude combate.
16 For thus saith the Lord to me: Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Cedar shall be taken away.	16 Porque o Senhor me diz estas coisas: Ainda um ano, (contado) como os anos do mercenário, e depois desaparecerá toda a glória de Cedar.
17 And the residue of the number of strong archers of the children of Cedar shall be diminished: for the Lord the God of Israel hath spoken it.	17 O número que ficar dos fortes frecheiros, filhos de Cedar, será pequeno. O Senhor, Deus de Israel, (assim) o disse.
