DOUAI-RHEIMSLXX
What shalt thou see in the Sulamitess but the companies of camps? How beautiful are thy steps in shoes, O prince's daughter! The joints of thy thighs are like jewels, that are made by the hand of a skilful workman.1 επιστρεφε επιστρεφε η σουλαμιτις επιστρεφε επιστρεφε και οψομεθα εν σοι τι οψεσθε εν τη σουλαμιτιδι η ερχομενη ως χοροι των παρεμβολων
Thy navel is like a round bowl never wanting cups. Thy belly is like a heap of wheat, set about with lilies.2 τι ωραιωθησαν διαβηματα σου εν υποδημασιν θυγατερ ναδαβ ρυθμοι μηρων σου ομοιοι ορμισκοις εργω χειρων τεχνιτου
Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins.3 ομφαλος σου κρατηρ τορευτος μη υστερουμενος κραμα κοιλια σου θιμωνια σιτου πεφραγμενη εν κρινοις
Thy neck as a tower of ivory. Thy eyes like the fishpools in Hesebon, which are in the gate of the daughter of the multitude. Thy nose is as the tower of Libanus, that looketh toward Damascus.4 δυο μαστοι σου ως δυο νεβροι διδυμοι δορκαδος
Thy head is like Carmel: and the hairs of thy head as the purple of the king bound in the channels.5 τραχηλος σου ως πυργος ελεφαντινος οφθαλμοι σου ως λιμναι εν εσεβων εν πυλαις θυγατρος πολλων μυκτηρ σου ως πυργος του λιβανου σκοπευων προσωπον δαμασκου
How beautiful art thou, and how comely, my dearest, in delights!6 κεφαλη σου επι σε ως καρμηλος και πλοκιον κεφαλης σου ως πορφυρα βασιλευς δεδεμενος εν παραδρομαις
Thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes.7 τι ωραιωθης και τι ηδυνθης αγαπη εν τρυφαις σου
I said: I will go up into the palm tree, and will take hold of the fruit thereof: and thy breasts shall be as the clusters of the vine: and the odour of thy mouth like apples.8 τουτο μεγεθος σου ωμοιωθη τω φοινικι και οι μαστοι σου τοις βοτρυσιν
Thy throat like the best wine, worthy for my beloved to drink, and for his lips and his teeth to ruminate.9 ειπα αναβησομαι εν τω φοινικι κρατησω των υψεων αυτου και εσονται δη μαστοι σου ως βοτρυες της αμπελου και οσμη ρινος σου ως μηλα
I to my beloved, and his turning is towards me.10 και λαρυγξ σου ως οινος ο αγαθος πορευομενος τω αδελφιδω μου εις ευθυθητα ικανουμενος χειλεσιν μου και οδουσιν
Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field, let us abide in the villages.11 εγω τω αδελφιδω μου και επ' εμε η επιστροφη αυτου
Let us get up early to the vineyards, let us see if the vineyard flourish, if the flowers be ready to bring forth fruits, if the pomegranates flourish: there will I give thee my breasts.12 ελθε αδελφιδε μου εξελθωμεν εις αγρον αυλισθωμεν εν κωμαις
The mandrakes give a smell. In our gates are all fruits: the new and the old, my beloved, I have kept for thee.13 ορθρισωμεν εις αμπελωνας ιδωμεν ει ηνθησεν η αμπελος ηνθησεν ο κυπρισμος ηνθησαν αι ροαι εκει δωσω τους μαστους μου σοι
οι μανδραγοραι εδωκαν οσμην και επι θυραις ημων παντα ακροδρυα νεα προς παλαια αδελφιδε μου ετηρησα σοι
