1 Unto the end. A psalm for David.	1 (Per la fine. Salmo di David).
2 May the Lord hear thee in the day of tribulation: may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee.	2 Signore, per la tua potenza il re si allieta, e per la salvezza, da te donata, grandemente esulta.
3 May he send thee help from the sanctuary: and defend thee out of Sion.	3 Tu hai adempiti i desideri del suo cuore e non hai resi vani i voti delle sue labbra.
4 May he be mindful of all thy sacrifices: and may thy whole burnt offering be made fat.	4 Infatti l'hai prevenuto colle più dolci benedizioni, hai posta sulla sua testa una corona di pietre preziose.
5 May he give thee according to thy own heart; and confirm all thy counsels.	5 Egli ti chiese la vita, e tu gli hai concesso una vita lunga, per sempre, in eterno.
6 We will rejoice in thy salvation; and in the name of our God we shall be exalted.	6 Grande è la sua gloria per la salvezza avuta da te: lo hai ricoperto di gloria e di grande splendore.
7 The Lord fulfil all thy petitions: now have I known that the Lord hath saved his anointed. He will hear him from his holy heaven: the salvation of his right hand is in powers.	7 Lo hai reso benedetto nei secoli dei secoli, lo hai allietato colla gioia del tuo volto.
8 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will call upon the name of the Lord our God.	8 Siccome il re spera nel Signore, per la misericordia dell'Altissimo non vacillerà.
9 They are bound, and have fallen; but we are risen, and are set upright. O Lord, save the king: and hear us in the day that we shall call upon thee.	9 La tua mano arrivi a tutti i tuoi nemici, la tua destra raggiunga tutti quelli che ti odiano.
	10 Ti ridurrai come ardente fornace, quando mostrerai la tua faccia. Il Signore nel suo sdegno li metterà in iscompiglio, il fuoco li divorerà.
	11 Farai sparire dalla terra la loro prole, la loro stirpe di mezzo ai figli degli uomini,
	12 Perchè ti prepararono rovine, contro di te ordirono trame che non potranno effettuare.
	13 Tu farai loro voltare le spalle, a quelli che restano percuoterai la faccia.
	14 Sorgi nella tua potenza, o Signore, e noi canteremo, celebreremo con salmi le tue maraviglie.
