1 And Solomon built his own house in thirteen years, and brought it to perfection.	1 Salomon bâtit, et acheva entièrement son palais en treize ans.
2 He built also the house of the forest of Libanus, the length of it was a hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty cubits, and the height thirty cubits: and four galleries between pillars of cedar: for he had cut cedar trees into pillars.	2 Il bâtit aussi la maison de la forêt du Liban, qui avait cent coudées de long, cinquante coudées de large, trente coudées de haut, et quatre galeries entre des colonnes de bois de cèdre; car il avait fait tailler les colonnes en bois de cèdre.
3 And he covered the whole vault with boards of cedar, and it was held up with five and forty pillars. And one row had fifteen pillars,	3 Et il revêtit de lambris de bois de cèdre tout le plafond, qui était soutenu par quarante-cinq colonnes. Chaque rang avait quinze colonnes,
4 Set one against another,	4 qui étaient posées l'une vis-à-vis de l'autre,
5 And looking one upon another, with equal space between the pillars, and over the pillars were square beams inall things equal.	5 et se regardaient l'une l'autre, étant placées à égale distance; et il y avait sur les colonnes des poutres carrées toutes d'une même grosseur.
6 And he made a porch of pillars of fifty cubits in length, and thirty cubits in breadth: and another porch before the greater porch: and pillars, and chapiters upon the pillars.	6 Il fit aussi le portique des colonnes, qui avait cinquante coudées de long, et trente coudées de large; et encore une autre galerie en avant de la plus grande, avec des colonnes et des architraves sur les colonnes.
7 He made also the porch of the throne, wherein is the seat of judgment: and covered it with cedar wood from the floor to the top.	7 Il fit aussi le portique du trône, où était le tribunal, et il le lambrissa de bois de cèdre depuis le plancher jusqu'au sommet.
8 And in the midst of the porch, was a small house where he sat in judgment, of the like work. He made also a house for the daughter of Pharao (whom Solomon had taken to wife) of the same work, as this porch,	8 La maison où était son lit de justice était au milieu du portique et de même travail. Salomon fit aussi pour la fille du Pharaon, qu'il avait épousée, un palais d'une même architecture que ce portique.
9 All of costly stones, which were sawed by a certain rule and measure both within and without: from the foundation to the top of the walls, and without unto the great court.	9 Tous ces édifices, depuis les fondements jusqu'au haut des murs, et par dehors jusqu'au grand parvis, étaient construits de pierres d'un grand prix, dont les deux parements, tant l'intérieur que l'extérieur, avaient été sciés tout d'une même forme et d'une même mesure.
10 And the foundations were of costly stones, great stones of ten cubits or eight cubits:	10 Les fondements étaient aussi en pierres précieuses et très grandes, de dix à huit coudées.
11 And above there were costly stones, or equal measure, hewed; and, in like manner, planks of cedar:	11 Il y avait au-dessus de très belles pierres, taillées d'une même grandeur, couvertes aussi de lambris de cèdre.
12 And the greater court was made round with three rows of hewed stones, and one row of planks of cedar, moreover also in the inner court of the house of the Lord, and in the porch of the house.	12 Le grand parvis était rond, et avait trois rangs de pierres taillées, et un rang lambrissé de cèdre, ce qui était observé aussi dans le parvis intérieur de la maison du Seigneur, et dans le vestibule du temple.
13 And king Solomon sent, and brought Hiram from Tyre,	13 Le roi Salomon fit aussi venir de Tyr Hiram,
14 The son of a widow woman of the tribe of Nephtali, whose father was a Tyrian, an artificer in brass, and full of wisdom, and understanding, and skill to work all work in brass. And when he was come to king Solomon, he wrought all his work.	14 qui était fils d'une femme veuve, de la tribu de Nephthali, et dont le père était de Tyr. Il travaillait sur le bronze, et il était rempli de sagesse, d'intelligence et de science pour faire toutes sortes d'ouvrages de bronze. Hiram, étant donc venu auprès du roi Salomon, fit tous les ouvrages qu'il lui confia.
15 And he cast two pillars in brass, each pillar was eighteen cubits high: and a line of twelve cubits compassed both the pillars.	15 Il fit deux colonnes de bronze, dont chacune avait dix-huit coudées de haut, et une ligne de douze coudées mesurait chaque colonne.
16 He made also two chapiters of molten brass, to be set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:	16 Il fit aussi deux chapiteaux de bronze qu'il coula en fonte, pour mettre en haut de chaque colonne; l'un des chapiteaux avait cinq coudées de haut, et l'autre avait aussi la même hauteur de cinq coudées;
17 And a kind of network, and chain work wreathed together with wonderful art. Both the chapiters of the pillars were cast : seven rows of nets were on one chapiter, and seven nets on the other chapiter.	17 et on y voyait une espèce de rets et de chaînes entrelacées l'une dans l'autre avec un art admirable. Chaque chapiteau de ces colonnes était coulé en fonte; il y avait sept rangs de mailles dans le réseau de l'un des chapiteaux, et autant dans l'autre.
18 And he made the pillars, and two rows round about each network to cover the chapiters, that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and in like manner did he to the other chapiter.	18 Il fit pour ces colonnes deux rangs de grenades autour des treillis, pour couvrir les chapiteaux qui étaient au-dessus; il fit le second chapiteau comme le premier.
19 And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars, were of lily work in the porch, of four cubits.	19 Les chapiteaux qui étaient en haut des colonnes dans le parvis étaient faits en forme de lis, et avaient quatre coudées de haut.
20 And again other chapiters in the top of the pillars above, according to the measure of the pillar over against the network: and of pomegranates there were two hundred in rows round about the other chapiter.	20 Et il y avait encore au sommet des colonnes, au-dessus des rets, d'autres chapiteaux proportionnés à la colonne; et autour de ce second chapiteau, il y avait deux cents grenades disposées en deux rangs.
21 And he set up the two pillars in the porch of the temple: and when he had set up the pillar on the right hand, he called the name thereof Jachin: in like manner he set up the second pillar, and called the name thereof Booz.	21 Il mit les deux colonnes au vestibule du temple; et ayant dressé la colonne droite, il l'appela Jachin; il dressa de même la seconde colonne, qu'il appela Booz.
22 And upon the tops of the pillars he made lily work: so the work of the pillars was finished.	22 Il mit au-dessus des colonnes ce travail en forme de lis, et l'ouvrage des colonnes fut ainsi entièrement achevé.
23 He made also a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round all about; the height of it was five cubits, and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about.	23 Il fit aussi la mer d'airain, de dix coudées d'un bord à l'autre, et toute ronde; elle avait cinq coudées de haut, et une corde de trente coudées mesurait sa circonférence.
24 And a graven work under the brim of it compassed it, for ten cubits going about the sea: there were two rows cast of chamfered sculptures.	24 Et sous le bord, une sculpture de dix coudées environnait cette mer; c'étaient deux rangs de sculptures striées, en airain.
25 And it stood upon twelve oxen, of which three looked towards the north, and three towards the west, and three towards the south, and three towards the east, and the sea was above upon them, and their hinder parts were all hid within.	25 Cette mer reposait sur douze boeufs, dont trois regardaient le septentrion, trois l'occident, trois le midi, et trois l'orient; et la mer était posée sur eux, et toutes leurs parties postérieures étaient cachées en dedans.
26 And the laver was a handbreadth thick: and the brim thereof was like the brim of a cup, or the leaf of a crisped lily: it contained two thousand bates.	26 Le bassin avait trois pouces d'épaisseur, et son bord était comme le bord d'une coupe, et comme la feuille d'un lis épanoui; et il contenait deux mille bats.
27 And he made ten bases of brass, every base was four cubits in length, and four cubits in breadth, and three cubits high.	27 Il fit aussi dix bases d'airain, dont chacune avait quatre coudées de long, quatre coudées de large, et trois coudées de haut.
28 And the work itself of the bases, was intergraven: and there were gravings between the joinings.	28 Et cet ouvrage des bases était ciselé, et il y avait des sculptures entre les jointures.
29 And between the little crowns and the ledges were lions, and oxen, and cherubims: and in the joinings likewise above: and under the lions and oxen, as it were bands of brass hanging down.	29 Là, entre des couronnements et des bordures, il y avait des lions, des boeufs, et des chérubins; et de même dans les jointures, par-dessus, et, au-dessus des lions et des boeufs, pendaient comme des courroies d'airain.
30 And every base had four wheels, and axletrees of brass: and at the four sides were undersetters under the laver molten, looking one against another.	30 Chaque base avait quatre roues d'airain, et des essieux d'airain; aux quatre angles il y avait comme des jantes en fonte, qui se regardaient l'une l'autre.
31 The mouth also of the laver within, was in the top of the chapiter: and that which appeared without, was of one cubit all round, and together it was one cubit and a half: and in the corners of the pillars were divers engravings: and the spaces between the pillars were square, not round.	31 En haut de la base, il y avait une ouverture pour le bassin, et ce qui en paraissait au dehors était entièrement rond, d'une coudée; la largeur avait une coudée et demie. Aux angles des colonnes étaient diverses ciselures, et ce qui était entre les colonnes n'était pas rond, mais carré.
32 And the four wheels, which were at the four corners of the base, were joined one to another under the base: the height of a wheel was a cubit and a half.	32 Et les quatre roues qui étaient aux quatre angles de la base étaient jointes ensemble par-dessous la base, et chaque roue avait une coudée et demie de haut.
33 And they were such wheels as are used to be made in a chariot: and their axletrees, and spokes, and strakes, and naves, were all east.	33 Ces roues étaient semblables à celles d'un char; leurs essieux, leurs rayons, leurs jantes et leurs moyeux étaient tous en fonte.
34 And the four undersetters that were at every corner of each base, were of the base itself cast and joined together.	34 Et les quatre consoles, qui étaient aux angles de chaque base, faisaient une même pièce avec elle, et étaient de même fonte.
35 And in the top of the base there was a round compass of half a cubit, so wrought that the laver might be set thereon, having its gravings, and divers sculptures of itself.	35 Au sommet de la base il y avait un rebord rond, d'une demi-coudée, travaillé de telle sorte, qu'un bassin pouvait être placé dessus; il était orné de ciselures et de sculptures variées, formant une seule pièce avec la base.
36 He engraved also in those plates, which were of brass. and in the corners, cherubims, and lions, and palm trees, in likeness of a man standing, so that they seemed not to be engraven, but added round about.	36 Il sculpta aussi sur les surfaces, qui étaient d'airain, et aux angles, des chérubins, des lions et des palmes; ces chérubins représentaient comme un homme debout, en sorte qu'ils paraissaient non pas ciselés, mais ajoutés tout alentour.
37 After this manner he made ten bases, of one casting and measure, and the like graving.	37 Il fit ainsi dix bases fondues d'une même manière, de même grandeur, et de sculpture pareille.
38 He made also ten lavers of brass: one laver contained four bases, and was of four cubits: and upon every base, in all ten, he put as many lavers.	38 Il fit aussi dix bassins d'airain, chacun desquels contenait quarante bats, et avait quatre coudées; et il posa chaque bassin sur chacun des dix bases.
39 And he set the ten bases, five on the right side of the temple, and five on the left: and the sea he put on the right side of the temple over against the east southward.	39 Et il plaça ces dix socles, cinq au côté droit du temple, et cinq au côté gauche; et il mit la mer d'airain au côté droit du temple, entre l'orient et le midi.
40 And Hiram made caldrons, and shovels, and basins, and finished all the work of king Solomon in the temple of the Lord.	40 Hiram fit aussi des marmites, des chaudrons et des bassins; et il acheva tout l'ouvrage que le roi Salomon voulait faire dans le temple du Seigneur:
41 The two pillars and the two cords of the chapiters, upon the chapiters of the pillars: and the two networks, to cover the two cords, that were upon the top of the pillars.	41 les deux colonnes et les deux cordons sur les chapiteaux, avec deux réseaux pour couvrir les deux cordons qui étaient aux chapiteaux des colonnes;
42 And four hundred pomegranates for the two networks: two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the cords of the chapiters, which were upon the tops of the pillars.	42 et quatre cents grenades pour les deux réseaux, savoir, deux rangs de grenades dans chaque réseau dont étaient couverts les deux cordons des chapiteaux qui étaient au sommet des colonnes;
43 And the ten bases, and the ten lavers on the bases.	43 et les dix bases et les dix bassins sur les bases;
44 And one sea, and twelve oxen under the sea.	44 et la mer, et les douze boeufs sous cette mer;
45 And the caldrons, and the shovels, and the basins. All the vessels that Hiram made for king Solomon for the house of the Lord, were of fine brass.	45 et des marmites, des chaudrons et des bassins. Tous ces objets, que fit Hiram par ordre du roi Salomon pour la maison du Seigneur, étaient d'airain.
46 In the plains of the Jordan did the king cast them in a clay ground, between Socoth and Sartham.	46 Le roi les fit fondre dans la plaine du Jourdain, dans un sol argileux, entre Sochoth et Sarthan.
47 And Solomon placed all the vessels: but for exceeding great multitude the brass could not be weighed.	47 Salomon mit dans le temple tous ces objets; et il y en avait une si grand quantité, qu'on ne pouvait marquer le poids de l'airain employé.
48 And Solomon made all the vessels for the house of the Lord: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, upon which the leaves of proposition should be set:	48 Salomon fit aussi tout ce qui devait servir dans la maison du Seigneur : l'autel d'or, et la table d'or sur laquelle on devait mettre les pains de proposition;
49 And the golden candlesticks, five on the right hand, and five on the left, over against the oracle, of pure gold: and the flowers like lilies, and the lamps over them of gold: and golden snuffers,	49 et les chandeliers d'or, cinq à droite et cinq à gauche, devant l'oracle, qui était de fin or, et au-dessus d'eux, des fleurs de lis et des lampes d'or. Il fit aussi des pincettes d'or,
50 And pots, and fleshhooks, and bowls, and mortars, and censers, of most pure gold: and the hinges for the doors of the inner house of the holy of holies, and for the doors of the house of the temple were of gold.	50 des aiguières, des fourchettes, des coupes, des mortiers, et des encensoirs d'un or très pur. Les gonds des portes de la maison intérieure du Saint des saints, et des portes de la maison du temple, étaient aussi d'or.
51 And Solomon finished all the work that he made in the house of the Lord, and brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, the silver and the gold, and the vessels, and laid them up in the treasures of the house of the Lord.	51 Ainsi Salomon acheva tous les ouvrages qu'il faisait pour la maison du Seigneur, et il porta dans le temple l'argent, l'or, et les ustensiles que David son père avait consacrés à Dieu, et il les mit en réserve dans les trésors de la maison du Seigneur.
