1 And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold Siba the servant of Miphiboseth came to meet him with two asses, laden with two hundred loaves of bread, and a hundred bunches of raisins, a hundred cakes of figs, and a vessel of wine.	1 Tendo Davide baixado um pouco do alto do monte, saiu-lhe ao encontro Siba, criado de Mifiboset, com dois jumentos carregados de duzentos pães, de cem penduras de uvas passas, de cem camadas de figos e de um odre de vinho.
2 And the king said to Siba: What mean these things? And Siba answered: The asses are for the king's household to sit on: and the loaves and the figs for thy servants to eat, and the wine to drink if any man be faint in the desert.	2 O rei disse a Siba: Para que é isto? Siba respondeu: Os jumentos são para montarem neles os domésticos do rei; os pães e os figos, para que os comam os teus criados; o vinho, para beber dele quem se achar fraco no deserto.
3 And the king said: Where is thy master's son? And Siba answered the king: He remained in Jerusalem, saying: To day will the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.	3 O rei disse: Onde está o filho do teu senhor? Siba respondeu ao rei: Ficou em Jerusalém, dizendo: Hoje a casa de Israel me restituirá o reino de meu pai.
4 And the king said to Siba: I give thee all that belonged to Miphiboseth. And Siba said: I beseech thee let me find grace before thee, my lord, O king.	4 O rei disse a Siba: Tudo o que foi de Mifiboset é teu. Siba respondeu: O que eu desejo, ó rei meu senhor, é achar graça diante de ti.
5 And king David came as far as Bahurim: and behold there came out from thence a man of the kindred of the house of Saul named Semei, the son of Gera, and coming out he cursed as he went on,	5 Quando o rei Davide chegou a Baurim, saía dali um homem da parentela da casa de Saul, chamado Semei, filho de Gera, o qual, adiantando-se, o seguia de perto e o amaldiçoava,
6 And he threw stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people, and all the warriors walked on the right, and on the left side of the king.	6 atirando pedras contra Davide e contra todos os servos do rei Davide, se bem que todo o povo e todos os homens de guerra marchavam à direita e à esquerda do rei.
7 And thus said Semei when he cursed the king: Come out, come out, thou man of blood, and thou man of Belial.	7 Semei, amaldiçoando o rei, dizia assim: Sai, sai, homem sanguinário, homem de Belial.
8 The Lord hath repaid thee for all the blood of the house of Saul: because thou hast usurped the kingdom in his stead, and the Lord hath given the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and behold thy evils press upon thee, because thou art a man of blood.	8 O Senhor te deu (agora) o pago de todo o sangue da casa de Saul, porquanto lhe usurpaste o reino; o Senhor o deu na mão de teu filho Absalão. Olha como os males te oprimem, porque és um homem sanguinário.
9 And Abisai the son of Sarvia said to the king: Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? I will go, and cut off his head.	9 Então Abisai, filho de Sarvia, disse ao rei: Por que amaldiçoa este cão morto o rei meu senhor? Eu vou e cortar-lhe-ei a cabeça.
10 And the king said: What have I to do with you, ye sons of Sarvia? Let him alone and let him curse: for the Lord hath bid him curse David: and who is he that shall dare say, why hath he done so?	10 O rei disse: Que importa a mim e a vós, filhos de Sarvia? Deixai que amaldiçoe, porque o Senhor lhe permitiu que amaldiçoasse Davide. Quem se atreverá a dizer: Por que fez ele assim?
11 And the king said to Abisai, and to all his servants: Behold my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now a son of Jemini? let him alone that he may curse as the Lord hath bidden him.	11 O rei disse a Abisai e a todos os seus servos: Se meu filho, que eu gerei das minhas entranhas, procura tirar-me a vida, quanto mais agora um filho de Jemini! Deixai-o mal-dizer, conforme a permissão do Senhor;
12 Perhaps the Lord may look upon my affliction, and the Lord may render me good for the cursing of this day.	12 talvez o Senhor olhe para a minha aflição, e me dê bens pelas maldições deste dia.
13 And David and his men with him went by the way. And Semei by the hill's side went over against him, cursing, and casting stones at him, and scattering earth.	13 Entretanto Davide prosseguia o seu caminho acompanhado dos seus. Semei ia pelo alto, costeando o monte, perto dele, mal-dizendo-o, atirando-lhe pedras, e espalhando poeira pelo ar.
14 And the king and all the people with him came weary, and refreshed themselves there.	14 Chegou enfim o rei (a Baurim), e com ele todo o povo, fatigado, e ali descansaram.
15 But Absalom and all his people came into Jerusalem, and Achitophel was with him.	15 Entretanto Absalão e todos os do seu partido entraram em Jerusalém, e com ele também Aquitofel.
16 And when Chusai the Arachite, David's friend, was come to Absalom, he said to him: God save thee, O king, God save thee, O king.	16 Quando Chusai Araquita, amigo de Davide, se apresentou a Absalão, disse-lhe: Deus te salve, ó rei. Deus te salve, ó rei.
17 And Absalom said to him: Is this thy kindness to thy friend? Why wentest thou not with thy friend?	17 Absalão disse-lhe: É essa a tua gratidão para com o teu amigo? Por que não foste com o teu amigo?
18 And Chusai answered Absalom: Nay: for I will be his, whom the Lord hath chosen, and all this people, and all Israel, and with him will I abide.	18 Chusai respondeu a Absalão: De nenhuma sorte, porque eu hei-de ser daquele a quem o Senhor e todo este povo e todo o Israel escolheram; hei-de ficar com ele.
19 Besides this, whom shall I serve? is it not the king's son? as I have served thy father, so will I serve thee also.	19 Além disso, a quem devo eu servir? Não é ao filho do rei? Como obedeci a teu pai, assim te obedecerei a ti também.
20 And Absalom said to Achitophel: Consult what we are to do.	20 Absalão disse a Aquitofel: Deliberai entre ambos sobre o que devemos fazer.
21 And Achitophel said to Absalom: Go in to the concubines of thy father, whom he hath left to keep the house: that when all Israel shall hear that thou hast disgraced thy father, their hands may be strengthened with thee.	21 Aquitofel disse a Absalão: Abusa das mulheres secundárias de teu pai, que ele deixou para guardarem o palácio, a fim de que, constando por todo o Israel que fizeste esta afronta a teu pai, se unam mais fortemente ao teu partido.
22 So they spread a tent for Absalom on the top of the house, and he went in to his father's concubines before all Israel.	22 Armaram pois para Absalão uma tenda no terraço, e ele, à vista de todo o Israel, abusou das mulheres secundárias de seu pai.
23 Now the counsel of Achitophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man should consult God: so was all the counsel of Achitophel, both when he was with David, and when he was with Absalom.	23 Os conselhos que Aquitofel dava naqueles dias eram considerados como oráculos de um Deus. Assim se consideravam todos os conselhos de Aquitofel, quer quando estava com Davide, quer quando estava com Absalão.
