Isaia 66

1 COSÌ ha detto il Signore: Il cielo è il mio trono, e la terra è lo scannello de’ miei piedi; dove è la Casa che voi mi edifichereste? e dove è il luogo del mio riposo?	1 Thus says the Lord: Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What is this house that you would build for me? And what is this place of my rest?
2 E la mia mano ha fatte tutte queste cose, onde tutte sono state prodotte, dice il Signore; a chi dunque riguarderò io? all’afflitto, ed al contrito di spirito, ed a colui che trema alla mia parola.	2 My hand has made all these things, and all these things have been made, says the Lord. But upon whom will I look with favor, except upon a poor little one, who is contrite in spirit, and who trembles at my words?
3 Chi scanna un bue mi è come se uccidesse un uomo; chi sacrifica una pecora mi è come se tagliasse il collo ad un cane; chi offerisce offerta mi è come se offerisse sangue di porco; chi fa profumo d’incenso per ricordanza mi è come se benedicesse un idolo. Come essi hanno scelte le lor vie, e l’anima loro ha preso diletto nelle loro abbominazioni,	3 Whoever immolates an ox, it is as if he slaughters a man. Whoever sacrifices a sheep, it is as if he is smashing the head of a dog. Whoever offers an oblation, it is as if he is offering swine’s blood. Whoever makes remembrance with incense, it is as if he is blessing an idol. All these things, they have chosen according to their own ways, and their soul has taken delight in their own abominations.
4 io altresì sceglierò i lor modi di fare, e farò venir sopra loro le cose ch’essi temono; perciocchè, io ho gridato, e non vi è stato alcuno che rispondesse; io ho parlato, ed essi non hanno ascoltato; anzi hanno fatto quello che mi dispiace, ed hanno scelto ciò che non mi aggrada	4 Therefore, I also will choose their illusions, and I will lead over them the things that they feared. For I called, and there was no one who would respond. I have spoken, and they have not listened. And they have done evil in my eyes; and what I did not will, they have chosen.
5 Ascoltate la parola del Signore, voi che tremate alla sua parola. I vostri fratelli che vi odiano, e vi scacciano per cagion del mio Nome, hanno detto: Apparisca pur glorioso il Signore. Certo egli apparirà in vostra letizia, ed essi saran confusi.	5 Listen to the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word. Your brothers, who hate you and who cast you out because of my name, have said: “Let the Lord be glorified, and we will see by your rejoicing.” But they themselves will be confounded.
6 Vi è un suono di strepito ch’esce della città, un romore che esce del tempio; ch’è la voce del Signore, che rende la retribuzione a’ suoi nemici.	6 A voice of the people from the city! A voice from the temple! The voice of the Lord repaying retribution to his enemies!
7 Quella ha partorito innanzi che sentisse le doglie del parto; innanzi che le venissero i dolori, si è sgravidata di un figliuol maschio.	7 Before she was in labor, she gave birth. Before her time arrived for delivery, she gave birth to a male child.
8 Chi udì mai una cotal cosa? chi vide mai cose simili? potrebbe un paese esser partorito in un giorno? o potrebbe una nazione nascere ad una volta, che Sion abbia sentite le doglie del parto, ed abbia partoriti i suoi figliuoli, come prima ha sentiti i dolori del parto?	8 Who has ever heard of such a thing? And who has seen anything like this? Will the earth give birth in one day? Or will a nation be born all at once? For Zion has been in labor, and she has given birth to her sons.
9 Io, che fo partorire, non potrei io generare? dice il Signore; io, che fo generare, sarei io sterile? dice l’Iddio tuo.	9 Will I, who causes others to give birth, not also give birth myself, says the Lord? Will I, who bestows generation upon others, be barren myself, says the Lord your God?
10 Rallegratevi con Gerusalemme, e festeggiate in essa, voi tutti che l’amate; gioite con lei d’una gran gioia, voi tutti che facevate cordoglio di lei.	10 Rejoice with Jerusalem, and exult in her, all you who love her! Rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her!
11 Acciocchè poppiate, e siate saziati della mammella della sue consolazioni; acciocchè mungiate, e godiate dello splendor della sua gloria.	11 So may you nurse and be filled, from the breasts of her consolations. So may you receive milk and overflow with delights, from every portion of her glory.
12 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore: Ecco, io rivolgo verso lei la pace, a guisa di fiume; e la gloria delle genti, a guisa di torrente traboccato; e voi la succerete, e sarete portati sopra i fianchi, e sarete sollazzati sopra le ginocchia.	12 For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will turn a river of peace toward her, with an inundating torrent: the glory of the Gentiles, from which you will nurse. You will be carried at the breasts, and they will caress you upon the knees.
13 Io vi consolerò, a guisa di un fanciullo che sua madre consola; e voi sarete consolati in Gerusalemme.	13 In the manner of one whom a mother caresses, so will I console you. And you will be consoled in Jerusalem.
14 E voi vedrete, e il vostro cuore si rallegrerà, e le vostre ossa germoglieranno come erba; e la mano del Signore verso i suoi servitori sarà conosciuta; ma egli si adirerà contro a’ suoi nemici	14 You will see, and your heart will be glad, and your bones will flourish like a plant, and the hand of the Lord will be known to his servants, and he will be angry with his enemies.
15 Perciocchè, ecco, il Signore verrà con fuoco, ed i suoi carri verranno a guisa di turbo; per rendere l’ira sua con indegnazione e la sua minaccia con fiamme di fuoco.	15 For behold, the Lord will arrive with fire, and his four-horse chariots will be like a whirlwind: to render his wrath with indignation, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16 Perciocchè il Signore farà giudicio con fuoco, e con la sua spada, sopra ogni carne; e gli uccisi dal Signore saranno in gran numero.	16 For the Lord will divide with fire, and with his sword among all flesh, and those slain by the Lord will be many.
17 Quelli che si santificano, e si purificano ne’ giardini, dietro ad Ahad, nel mezzo; che mangiano carne di porco, e cose abbominevoli, e topi, saran consumati tutti quanti, dice il Signore.	17 Those who were sanctified, who thought themselves to be clean in the gardens behind the inner gate, who were eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse: they will be consumed all at once, says the Lord.
18 Ora, quant’è a me, essendo tali le loro opere, e i lor pensieri, il tempo viene che io raccoglierò tutte le genti, e lingue; ed esse verranno, e vedranno la mia gloria.	18 But I know their works and their thoughts. I am arriving, so that I may gather them together with all nations and languages. And they will approach, and they will see my glory.
19 E metterò in coloro un segnale, e manderò quelli d’infra loro, che saranno scampati, alle genti, in Tarsis, in Pul, ed in Lud, dove tirano dell’arco; in Tubal, ed in Iavan, ed alle isole lontane, che non hanno udita la mia fama, e non hanno veduta la mia gloria; e quelli annunzieranno la mia gloria fra le genti.	19 And I will set a sign among them. And I will send some of those who will have been saved to the Gentiles in the sea, to Africa, and to those who draw the bow in Lydia, to Italy and Greece, to islands far away, to those who have not heard of me, and to those who have not seen my glory. And they will announce my glory to the Gentiles.
20 E addurranno tutti i vostri fratelli, d’infra tutte le genti, per offerta al Signore, sopra cavalli, in carri, in lettighe, sopra muli, e sopra dromedari, al monte della mia santità, in Gerusalemme, ha detto il Signore; siccome i figliuoli d’Israele portano l’offerta in un vaso netto alla Casa del Signore.	20 And they will lead all of your brothers from all of the Gentiles as a gift to the Lord, on horses, and in four-horse chariots, and on stretchers, and on mules, and in coaches, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, in the same manner that the sons of Israel would carry an offering in a pure vessel into the house of the Lord.
21 Ed anche ne prenderò d’infra loro per sacerdoti, e Leviti, ha detto il Signore.	21 And I will take from them to be priests and Levites, says the Lord.
22 Perciocchè, siccome i nuovi cieli a la nuova terra che io farò, saranno stabili nel mio cospetto, dice il Signore; così ancora sarà stabile la vostra progenie, ed il vostro nome.	22 For in like manner as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will cause to stand before me, says the Lord, so will your offspring and your name stand.
23 Ed avverrà, che da calendi a calendi, e da sabato a sabato, ogni carne verrà, per adorar nel mio cospetto, ha detto il Signore.	23 And there will be month after month, and Sabbath after Sabbath. And all flesh will approach, so as to adore before my face, says the Lord.
24 Ed usciranno, e vedranno i corpi morti degli uomini che saran proceduti dislealmente meco; perciocchè il verme loro non morrà, ed il fuoco loro non sarà spento; e saranno in abbominio ad ogni carne	24 And they will go out, and they will view the carcasses of the men who have transgressed against me. Their worm will not die, and their fire will not be extinguished. And they will be a sight to all flesh even unto revulsion.
