Isaia 6

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 NELL’anno che morì il re Uzzia, io vidi il Signore, che sedeva sopra un alto ed elevato trono; e il lembo della sua veste riempieva il Tempio.	1 In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne; his train fil ed thesanctuary.
2 I Serafini stavano di sopra ad esso; e ciascun d’essi avea sei ale; con due copriva la sua faccia, e con due copriva i suoi piedi, e con due volava.	2 Above him stood seraphs, each one with six wings: two to cover its face, two to cover its feet and two forflying;
3 E l’uno gridava all’altro, e diceva: Santo, Santo, Santo è il Signor degli eserciti; Tutta la terra è piena della sua gloria.	3 and they were shouting these words to each other: Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh Sabaoth. His glory fil s thewhole earth.
4 E gli stipiti delle soglie furono scrollati per la voce di colui che gridava, e la Casa fu ripiena di fumo	4 The door-posts shook at the sound of their shouting, and the Temple was ful of smoke.
5 Ed io dissi: Ahi! lasso me! perciocchè io son deserto; conciossiachè io sia uomo immondo di labbra, ed abiti in mezzo di un popolo immondo di labbra; e pur gli occhi miei hanno veduto il Re, il Signor degli eserciti.	5 Then I said: 'Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of uncleanlips, and my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh Sabaoth.'
6 Ed uno de’ Serafini volò a me, avendo in mano un carbone acceso, il quale egli avea preso con le molle d’in su l’Altare.	6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding in its hand a live coal which it had taken from the altar witha pair of tongs.
7 E l’accostò alla mia bocca, e disse: Ecco, questo ha toccate le tue labbra; or sarà la tua iniquità rimossa, e il tuo peccato purgato.	7 With this it touched my mouth and said: 'Look, this has touched your lips, your guilt has been removedand your sin forgiven.'
8 Poi io udii la voce del Signore che diceva: Chi manderò? e chi andrà per noi? Ed io dissi: Eccomi, manda me	8 I then heard the voice of the Lord saying: 'Whom shal I send? Who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here amI, send me.'
9 Ed egli disse: Va’, e di’ a questo popolo: Ascoltate pure, ma non intendiate; e riguardate pure, ma non conosciate.	9 He said: 'Go, and say to this people, "Listen and listen, but never understand! Look and look, but neverperceive!"
10 Ingrassa il cuore di questo popolo, ed aggravagli le orecchie, e turagli gli occhi; acciocchè non vegga co’ suoi occhi, e non oda colle sue orecchie, e non intenda col suo cuore; e ch’egli non si converta, e che Iddio non lo guarisca.	10 Make this people's heart coarse, make their ears dul , shut their eyes tight, or they wil use their eyes tosee, use their ears to hear, use their heart to understand, and change their ways and be healed.'
11 E io dissi: Infino a quando, Signore? Ed egli disse: Finchè le città sieno state desolate, senza abitatore; e che le case sieno senza uomini; e che la terra sia ridotta in deserto, e desolazione;	11 I then said, 'Until when, Lord?' He replied, 'Until towns are in ruins and deserted, houses untenantedand a great desolation reigns in the land,
12 e che il Signore abbia allontanati gli uomini; e che la solitudine sia stata lungo tempo in mezzo della terra.	12 and Yahweh has driven the people away and the country is total y abandoned.
13 Ma pure ancora vi resterà in essa una decima parte; ma quella di nuovo sarà consumata. Come i roveri, e le quercie, che sono tagliati hanno ancora il tronco, così il seme santo sarà il tronco di essa	13 And suppose one-tenth of them are left in it, that wil be stripped again, like the terebinth, like the oak,cut back to the stock; their stock is a holy seed.'
