Isaia 3

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Perciocchè, ecco, il Signore, il Signor degli eserciti, toglie via di Gerusalemme e di Giuda ogni sostegno ed appoggio; ogni sostegno di pane, ed ogni sostegno di acqua;	1 Now the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth is about to deprive Jerusalem and Judah of resources and provisions --al reserves of food, al reserves of water-
2 il forte e il guerriero; il giudice e il profeta; e l’indovino e l’anziano;	2 of hero, warrior, judge, prophet, diviner, elder,
3 il capitano di cinquantina, e l’uomo d’autorità, e il consigliere, e l’artefice industrioso, e l’uomo intendente nelle parole segrete.	3 captain, dignitary, counsellor, architect, soothsayer.
4 Ed io farò, che de’ giovanetti saranno lor principi, e che de’ fanciulli li signoreggeranno.	4 'I shal give them boys for princes, raw lads to rule over them.'
5 E il popolo sarà oppressato l’uno dall’altro, e ciascuno dal suo prossimo; il fanciullo superbirà contro al vecchio, e il vile contro all’onorevole.	5 People will be il -treated by one another, each by his neighbour; the young wil insult the aged, and thelow, the respected.
6 Se alcuno prende un suo fratello, della casa di suo padre, dicendo: Tu hai una veste, sii nostro principe, e sia questa ruina sotto alla tua mano,	6 Yes, a man wil catch hold of his brother in their father's house, to say, 'You have a cloak, so you beleader, and rule this heap of ruins.'
7 egli giurerà in quel giorno, dicendo: Io non sarò signore; e in casa mia non vi è nè pane, nè vestimento; non mi costituite principe del popolo.	7 And, that day, the other wil protest, 'I am no healer; in my house there is neither food nor clothing; donot make me leader of the people.'
8 Perciocchè Gerusalemme è traboccata, e Giuda è caduto; perchè la lingua e le opere loro son contro al Signore, per provocare ad ira gli occhi della sua gloria	8 For Jerusalem has col apsed and Judah has fallen, because their words and deeds affront Yahweh andinsult his glorious gaze.
9 Ciò che si riconosce loro nella faccia testifica contro a loro; ed essi pubblicano il lor peccato come Sodoma, e non lo celano. Guai alle anime loro! perciocchè fanno male a sè stessi.	9 Their complacency bears witness against them, they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not conceal it,al the worse for them, for they have hatched their own downfal .
10 Dite al giusto, che gli avverrà bene; perciocchè i giusti mangeranno il frutto delle loro opere.	10 Say, 'Blessed the upright, for he will feed on the fruit of his deeds;
11 Guai all’empio! male gli avverrà; perciocchè gli sarà fatta la retribuzione delle sue mani.	11 woe to the wicked, it wil go il with him, for he will be treated as his actions deserve.'
12 Gli oppressatori del mio popolo sono fanciulli, e donne lo signoreggiano. Popol mio, quelli che ti predicano beato ti fanno traviare, e fanno andare in perdizione la via de’ tuoi sentieri.	12 O my people, their oppressors pil age them and extortioners rule over them! O my people, your rulersmislead you and efface the paths you ought to fol ow!
13 Il Signore comparisce, per contendere; e si presenta, per giudicare i popoli.	13 Yahweh has risen to accuse, is standing to pass judgement on the people.
14 Il Signore verrà in giudicio contro agli anziani del suo popolo, e contro a’ principi di esso; voi siete pur quelli che avete guasta la vigna; la preda del povero è nelle vostre case.	14 Yahweh is about to try the elders and the princes of his people, 'You are the ones who have ravagedthe vineyard, the spoils of the poor are in your houses.
15 Perchè tritate il mio popolo, e pestate le facce dei poveri? dice il Signore, il Signor degli eserciti	15 By what right do you crush my people and grind the faces of the poor?' says the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.
16 Oltre a ciò, il Signore ha detto: Perciocchè le figliuole di Sion si sono innalzate, e son camminate a gola stesa, ed ammiccando con gli occhi; e son camminate carolando, ed hanno fatto tintinno co’ lor piedi;	16 Yahweh says: Because Zion's daughters are proud and walk with heads held high and enticing eyes --with mincing steps they go, jingling the bangles on their feet-
17 il Signore pelerà la sommità del capo delle figliuole di Sion, e il Signore scoprirà le lor vergogne.	17 the Lord will give Zion's daughters scabby heads, Yahweh will lay their foreheads bare.
18 In quel giorno il Signore torrà via l’ornamento delle pianelle, i calzamenti fatti ad occhietti, e le lunette;	18 That day the Lord wil take away the ornamental chains, medallions, crescents,
19 le collane, e i monili, e le maniglie;	19 pendants, bracelets, trinkets,
20 i fregi, e i legaccioli da gamba, e le bende, e i bossoli d’odori, e gli orecchini;	20 diadems, ankle-chains, necklaces, scent bottles, amulets,
21 gli anelli, e i monili pendenti in sul naso;	21 finger-rings, nose-rings,
22 le robe da festa, e i mantelletti, e i veli, e gli spilletti;	22 party dresses, cloaks, scarves, purses,
23 gli specchi, e gli zendadi, e le mitrie, e le gonne.	23 mirrors, linen clothes, turbans and mantillas.
24 Ed avverrà che, in luogo di buono odore, vi sarà marcia; e in luogo di cintura, squarciatura; e in luogo d’increspatura di capelli, calvezza; e in luogo di fascia da petto, cinto di sacco; e in luogo di bellezza, arsura.	24 Then, instead of perfume, a stink; instead of belt, a rope, instead of hair elaborately dressed, a shavenscalp, instead of gorgeous clothes, sacking round the waist, and brand marks instead of beauty.
25 I tuoi uomini cadranno per la spada, e i tuoi uomini prodi nella battaglia.	25 Your men wil fal by the sword, your warriors in battle,
26 E le porte di Gerusalemme si lamenteranno, e faranno cordoglio; ed ella, dopo essere stata vuotata, giacerà per terra	26 and her gates wil moan and mourn; she wil sit on the ground, deserted.
