1 No hagas el mal, y el mal no se apoderará de ti;	1 Do no evil, and evil will not overtake you;
2 apártate de la injusticia, y ella se apartará de ti.	2 avoid wickedness, and it will turn aside from you.
3 No siembres, hijo mío, en los surcos de la injusticia, no sea que coseches siete veces más.	3 Sow not in the furrows of injustice, lest you harvest it sevenfold.
4 No pidas al Señor un puesto importante ni al rey un sitial de honor.	4 Seek not from the LORD authority, nor from the king a place of honor.
5 No quieras pasar por justo delante del Señor ni te hagas el sabio delante del rey.	5 Parade not your justice before the Lord, and before the king flaunt not your wisdom.
6 No aspires al cargo de juez, no sea que no puedas extirpar las injusticias o te dejes intimidar por un poderoso, y así pongas en peligro tu rectitud.	6 Seek not to become a judge if you have not strength to root out crime, Or you will show favor to the ruler and mar your integrity.
7 No ofendas a la asamblea de la ciudad ni te degrades delante de la multitud.	7 Be guilty of no evil before the city's populace, nor disgrace yourself before the assembly.
8 No incurras dos veces en pecado, porque ni uno solo quedará impune.	8 Do not plot to repeat a sin; not even for one will you go unpunished.
9 No digas: «El Señor apreciará la multitud de mis dones; cuando los presente al Dios Altísimo, él los aceptará».	9 Say not: "He will appreciate my many gifts; the Most High will accept my offerings."
10 No dejes de orar confiadamente ni te olvides de dar limosna.	10 Be not impatient in prayers, and neglect not the giving of alms.
11 No te burles del hombre que está amargado, porque hay Alguien que humilla y también exalta.	11 Laugh not at an embittered man; be mindful of him who exalts and humbles.
12 No urdas mentiras contra tu hermano ni lo hagas tampoco contra un amigo.	12 Plot no mischief against your brother, nor against your friend and companion.
13 No digas nunca una mentira, porque esa costumbre no conduce a nada bueno.	13 Delight not in telling lie after lie, for it never results in good.
14 No hables demasiado en la asamblea de los ancianos ni repitas las palabras en tu oración.	14 Thrust not yourself into the deliberations of princes, and repeat not the words of your prayer.
15 No detestes los trabajos penosos ni el trabajo del campo, creado por el Altísimo.	15 Hate not laborious tasks, nor farming, which was ordained by the Most High.
16 No te agregues a la multitud de los pecadores: recuerda que la ira del Señor no tardará.	16 Do not esteem yourself better than your fellows; remember, his wrath will not delay.
17 Sé profundamente humilde, porque fuego y gusanos son el castigo del impío.	17 More and more, humble your pride; what awaits man is worms.
18 No cambies a un amigo por dinero ni a un verdadero hermano por el oro de Ofir.	18 Barter not a friend for money, nor a dear brother for the gold of Ophir.
19 No te apartes de una mujer sabia y buena, porque su encanto vale más que el oro.	19 Dismiss not a sensible wife; a gracious wife is more precious than corals.
20 No maltrates al servidor que trabaja fielmente ni al jornalero que se da por entero.	20 Mistreat not a servant who faithfully serves, nor a laborer who devotes himself to his task.
21 Ama de corazón a un servidor inteligente y no lo prives de su libertad.	21 Let a wise servant be dear to you as your own self; refuse him not his freedom.
22 Si tienes ganado, cuídalo bien, y si te da ganancia, consérvalo.	22 If you have livestock, look after them; if they are dependable, keep them.
23 Si tienes hijos, edúcalos y exígeles obediencia desde su niñez.	23 If you have sons, chastise them; bend their necks from childhood.
24 Si tienes hijas, cuídalas para que sean castas y no te muestres demasiado blando con ellas.	24 If you have daughters, keep them chaste, and be not indulgent to them.
25 Casa a tu hija, y habrás hecho una gran obra, pero dásela a un hombre inteligente.	25 Giving your daughter in marriage ends a great task; but give her to a worthy man.
26 Si quieres a tu mujer, no la repudies, pero si no la amas, no te fíes de ella.	26 If you have a wife, let her not seem odious to you; but where there is ill-feeling, trust her not.
27 Glorifica a tu padre de todo corazón y no olvides los dolores de tu madre;	27 With your whole heart honor your father; your mother's birthpangs forget not.
28 acuérdate que les debes la vida: ¿cómo les retribuirás lo que hicieron por ti?	28 Remember, of these parents you were born; what can you give them for all they gave you?
29 Reverencia al Señor con toda tu alma y venera a sus sacerdotes.	29 With all your soul, fear God, revere his priests.
30 Ama a tu Creador con todas tus fuerzas y no abandones a sus ministros.	30 With all your strength, love your Creator, forsake not his ministers.
31 Teme al Señor y glorifica al sacerdote, dale su parte, como se te ha mandado: las primicias, el sacrificio de reparación y el lomo de las víctimas, las ofrendas consagradas y la primicia de las cosas santas.	31 Honor God and respect the priest; give him his portion as you have been commanded: First fruits and contributions, due sacrifices and holy offerings.
32 Tiende la mano también al pobre, y serás plenamente bendecido;	32 To the poor man also extend your hand, that your blessing may be complete;
33 sé generoso con todos los vivientes y no niegues tu piedad a los muertos;	33 Be generous to all the living, and withhold not your kindness from the dead.
34 no des la espalda a los que lloran y comparte la aflicción de los que sufren;	34 Avoid not those who weep, but mourn with those who mourn;
35 no dejes de visitar al enfermo: con tales obras te harás amar.	35 Neglect not to visit the sick-- for these things you will be loved.
36 En todas tus acciones, acuérdate de tu fin y no pecarás jamás.	36 In whatever you do, remember your last days, and you will never sin.
