1 Descendientes de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel. Rubén fue el primero en nacer, pero como profanó el lecho de su padre, su primogenitura fue entregada a los hijos de José, al hijo de Israel, y no fue inscrito en las genealogías como el primogénito.	1 The sons of Reuben, the first-born of Israel. (He was indeed the first-born, but because he disgraced the couch of his father his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph, son of Israel, so that he is not listed in the family records according to birthright.
2 Judá, en efecto, prevaleció entre sus hermanos y de él procede el Príncipe; pero la primogenitura pertenece a José.	2 Judah, in fact, became powerful among his brothers, so that the ruler came from him, though the birthright had been Joseph's.)
3 Los descendientes de Rubén, el primogénito de Israel, fueron Henoc, Palú, Jesrón y Carmí.	3 The sons of Reuben, the first-born of Israel, were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 El hijo de Joel fue Semaías; el hijo de Semaías, Gog; el hijo de Gog, Simei;	4 His son was Joel, whose son was Shemaiah, whose son was Gog, whose son was Shimei,
5 el hijo de Simei, Micá; el hijo de Micá, Reaías; el hijo de Reaías, Baal;	5 whose son was Micah, whose son was Reaiah, whose son was Baal,
6 el hijo de Baal, Beerá, a quien Tiglat Piléser, rey de Asiria, llevó cautivo. Este era jefe de los Rubenitas.	6 whose son was Beerah, whom Tiglath-pileser, the king of Assyria, took into exile; he was a prince of the Reubenites.
7 Sus hermanos, agrupados por familias según sus genealogías, eran Ieiel, el primero, luego Zacarías,	7 His brothers who belonged to his clans, when they were listed in the family records according to their descendants, were: Jeiel, the chief, and Zechariah,
8 y Belá, hijo de Azaz, hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel. Estos habitaban en Aroer y se extendían hasta Nebo y Baal Meón.	8 and Bela, son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel. The Reubenites lived in Aroer and as far as Nebo and Baal-meon;
9 También se extendían hacia el oriente, hasta el borde del desierto que limita con el río Eufrates, porque sus ganados se habían multiplicado en la tierra de Galaad.	9 toward the east they dwelt as far as the desert which extends from the Euphrates River, for they had much livestock in the land of Gilead.
10 En tiempos de Saúl combatieron contra los agareos, y estos cayeron en sus manos. Así ocuparon sus campamentos por toda la parte oriental de Galaad.	10 During the reign of Saul they waged war with the Hagrites, and when they had defeated them they occupied their tents throughout the region east of Gilead.
11 Los hijos de Gad habitaban frente a ellos en la tierra de Basán hasta Salcá.	11 The Gadites lived alongside them in the land of Bashan as far as Salecah.
12 Joel fue el primero que se estableció en Basán; Sefán, el segundo; luego lo hicieron Ianai y Safat.	12 Joel was chief, Shapham was second in command, and Janai was judge in Bashan.
13 Sus hermanos, agrupados por familias, fueron Micael, Mesulam, Sebá, Iorai, Iacán, Zía y Héber: siete en total.	13 Their brothers, corresponding to their ancestral houses, were: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia, and Eber--seven.
14 Estos son los hijos de Abijáil, hijo de Jurí, hijo de Iaróaj, hijo de Guilad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Iesisai, hijo de Iajdó, hijo de Buz.	14 These were the sons of Abihail, son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz.
15 Así, hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guní, era jefe de sus familias.	15 Ahi, son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was the head of their ancestral houses.
16 Ellos habitaban en Galaad, en Basán y sus poblados, y en todos los campos de pastoreo de Sarón, hasta sus confines.	16 They dwelt in Gilead, in Bashan and its towns, and in all the pasture lands of Sirion to the borders.
17 Todos ellos fueron registrados en tiempos de Jotam, rey de Judá, y de Jeroboam, rey de Israel,	17 All were listed in the family records in the time of Jotham, king of Judah, and of Jeroboam, king of Israel.
18 Los hijos de Rubén, los de Gad y la mitad de la tribu de Manasés, eran muy valientes, llevaban escudo y espada y manejaban el arco. Los que estaban adiestrados para la guerra formaban un ejército de cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta hombres.	18 The Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh were warriors, men who bore shield and sword and who drew the bow, trained in warfare--forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty men fit for military service.
19 Ellos combatieron contra los agareos, contra Ietur, Nafís y Nodab,	19 When they waged war against the Hagrites and against Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab,
20 y Dios los ayudó, de tal manera que los agareos y todos los que estaban con ellos, cayeron en sus manos; en el combate invocaron a Dios y él les fue propicio, porque confiaban en él.	20 they received help so that they mastered the Hagrites and all who were with them. For during the battle they called on God, and he heard them because they had put their trust in him.
21 Así lograron capturar sus ganados –cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas, dos mil asnos– además de cien mil personas.	21 Along with one hundred thousand men they also captured their livestock: fifty thousand camels, two hundred fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses.
22 Como era Dios el que combatía a favor de ellos, dieron muerte a muchos enemigos y ocuparon su lugar hasta el exilio.	22 Many had fallen in battle, for victory is from God; and they took over their dwelling place until the time of the exile.
23 Los hijos de la mitad de la tribu de Manasés se establecieron en el país, desde Basán hasta Baal Hermón, Senir y la montaña del Hermón. Ellos eran muy numerosos.	23 The numerous members of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the land of Bashan as far as Baal-hermon, Senir, and Mount Hermon.
24 Estos son los jefes de sus familias: Efer, Isei, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Iajdiel, hombres valientes y jefes famosos de sus respectivas familias.	24 The following were the heads of their ancestral houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel--men who were warriors, famous men, and heads over their ancestral houses.
25 Pero fueron infieles al Dios de sus padres, y se prostituyeron siguiendo a los dioses de los pueblos del país que Dios había destruido delante de ellos.	25 However, they offended the God of their fathers by lusting after the gods of the natives of the land, whom God had cleared out of their way.
26 Por eso, el Dios de Israel suscitó contra ellos a Pul, es decir, a Tiglat Pileser, y este deportó a los rubenitas, a los gaditas y a la mitad de la tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Jalaj, Jabor, Jará y al río Gozán, hasta el día de hoy.	26 Therefore the God of Israel incited against them the anger of Pul, king of Assyria, and of Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria, who deported the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh and brought them to Halah, Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, where they have remained to this day.
27 Los descendientes de Leví fueron Gersón, Quehat, y Merarí.	27 The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
28 Los hijos de Quehat fueron Amram, Ishar, Hebrón y Uziel.	28 The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
29 Los hijos de Amram fueron Aarón, Moisés y Miriam. Los hijos de Aarón fueron Nadab, Abihú, Eleazar e Itamar.	29 The children of Amram were Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
30 Eleazar fue padre de Pinjás; Pinjás fue padre de Abisúa;	30 Eleazar became the father of Phinehas. Phinehas became the father of Abishua.
31 Abisúa fue padre de Buquí; Buquí fue padre de Uzí;	31 Abishua became the father of Bukki. Bukki became the father of Uzzi.
32 Uzí fue padre de Zerajías; Zerajías fue padre de Meraiot;	32 Uzzi became the father of Zerahiah. Zerahiah became the father of Meraioth.
33 Meraiot fue padre de Amarías; Amarías fue padre de Ajitub;	33 Meraioth became the father of Amariah. Amariah became the father of Ahitub.
34 Ajitub fue padre de Sadoc; Sadoc fue padre de Ajimáas;	34 Ahitub became the father of Zadok. Zadok became the father of Ahimaaz.
35 Ajimáas fue padre de Azarías; Azarías fue padre de Iojanán;	35 Ahimaaz became the father of Azariah. Azariah became the father of Johanan.
36 Iojanán fue padre de Azarías, el cual ejerció el sacerdocio en el Templo que Salomón edificó en Jerusalén;	36 Johanan became the father of Azariah, who served as priest in the temple Solomon built in Jerusalem.
37 Azarías fue padre de Amarías; Amarías fue padre de Ajitub;	37 Azariah became the father of Amariah. Amariah became the father of Ahitub.
38 Ajitub fue padre de Sadoc; Sadoc fue padre de Salúm;	38 Ahitub became the father of Zadok. Zadok became the father of Shallum.
39 Salúm fue padre de Jilquías; Jilquías fue padre de Azarías;	39 Shallum became the father of Hilkiah. Hilkiah became the father of Azariah.
40 Azarías fue padre de Seraías ; Seraías fue padre de Iehosadac;	40 Azariah became the father of Seraiah. Seraiah became the father of Jehozadak.
41 Iehosadac fue al destierro, cuando el Señor deportó a los habitantes de Judá y de Jerusalén por medio de Nabucodonosor.	41 Jehozadak was one of those who went into the exile which the LORD inflicted on Judah and Jerusalem through Nebuchadnezzar.
