1 Corintios 12

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 En cuanto a los dones espírituales, no quiero, hermanos, que estéis en la ignorancia.	1 About the gifts of the Spirit, brothers, I want you to be quite certain.
2 Sabéis que cuando erais gentiles, os dejabais arrastrar ciegamente hacia los ídolos mudos.	2 You remember that, when you were pagans, you were irresistibly drawn to inarticulate heathen gods.
3 Por eso os hago saber que nadie, hablando con el Espíritu de Dios, puede decir: «¡Anatema es Jesús!»; y nadie puede decir: «¡Jesús es Señor!» sino con el Espíritu Santo.	3 Because of that, I want to make it quite clear to you that no one who says 'A curse on Jesus' can bespeaking in the Spirit of God, and nobody is able to say, 'Jesus is Lord' except in the Holy Spirit.
4 Hay diversidad de carismas, pero el Espíritu es el mismo;	4 There are many different gifts, but it is always the same Spirit;
5 diversidad de ministerios, pero el Señor es el mismo;	5 there are many different ways of serving, but it is always the same Lord.
6 diversidad de operaciones, pero es el mismo Dios que obra en todos.	6 There are many different forms of activity, but in everybody it is the same God who is at work in themal .
7 A cada cual se le otorga la manifestación del Espíritu para provecho común,	7 The particular manifestation of the Spirit granted to each one is to be used for the general good.
8 Porque a uno se le da por el Espíritu palabra de sabiduría; a otro, palabra de ciencia según el mismo Espíritu;	8 To one is given from the Spirit the gift of utterance expressing wisdom; to another the gift of utteranceexpressing knowledge, in accordance with the same Spirit;
9 a otro, fe, en el mismo Espíritu; a otro, carismas de curaciones, en el único Espíritu;	9 to another, faith, from the same Spirit; and to another, the gifts of healing, through this one Spirit;
10 a otro, poder de milagros; a otro, profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, diversidad de lenguas; a otro, don de interpretarlas.	10 to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the power of distinguishingspirits; to one, the gift of different tongues and to another, the interpretation of tongues.
11 Pero todas estas cosas las obra un mismo y único Espíritu, distribuyéndolas a cada uno en particular según su voluntad.	11 But at work in al these is one and the same Spirit, distributing them at wil to each individual.
12 Pues del mismo modo que el cuerpo es uno, aunque tiene muchos miembros, y todos los miembros del cuerpo, no obstante su pluralidad, no forman más que un solo cuerpo, así también Cristo.	12 For as with the human body which is a unity although it has many parts -- al the parts of the body,though many, stil making up one single body -- so it is with Christ.
13 Porque en un solo Espíritu hemos sido todos bautizados, para no formar más que un cuerpo, judíos y griegos, esclavos y libres. Y todos hemos bebido de un solo Espíritu.	13 We were baptised into one body in a single Spirit, Jews as wel as Greeks, slaves as wel as freemen, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.
14 Así también el cuerpo no se compone de un solo miembro, sino de muchos.	14 And indeed the body consists not of one member but of many.
15 Si dijera el pie: «Puesto que no soy mano, yo no soy del cuerpo» ¿dejaría de ser parte del cuerpo por eso?	15 If the foot were to say, 'I am not a hand and so I do not belong to the body,' it does not belong to thebody any the less for that.
16 Y si el oído dijera: «Puesto que no soy ojo, no soy del cuerpo» ¿dejaría de ser parte del cuerpo por eso?	16 Or if the ear were to say, 'I am not an eye, and so I do not belong to the body,' that would not stop itsbelonging to the body.
17 Si todo el cuerpo fuera ojo ¿dónde quedaría el oído? Y si fuera todo oído ¿donde el olfato?	17 If the whole body were just an eye, how would there be any hearing? If the whole body were hearing,how would there be any smel ing?
18 Ahora bien, Dios puso cada uno de los miembros en el cuerpo según su voluntad.	18 As it is, God has put al the separate parts into the body as he chose.
19 Si todo fuera un solo miembro ¿dónde quedaría el cuerpo?	19 If they were al the same part, how could it be a body?
20 Ahora bien, muchos son los miembros, mas uno el cuerpo.	20 As it is, the parts are many but the body is one.
21 Y no puede el ojo decir a la mano: «¡No te necesito!» Ni la cabeza a los pies: «¡No os necesito!»	21 The eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you,' and nor can the head say to the feet, 'I haveno need of you.'
22 Más bien los miembros del cuerpo que tenemos por más débiles, son indispensables.	22 What is more, it is precisely the parts of the body that seem to be the weakest which are theindispensable ones.
23 Y a los que nos parecen los más viles del cuerpo, los rodeamos de mayor honor. Así a nuestras partes deshonestas las vestimos con mayor honestidad.	23 It is the parts of the body which we consider least dignified that we surround with the greatest dignity;and our less presentable parts are given greater presentability
24 Pues nuestras partes honestas no lo necesitan. Dios ha formado el cuerpo dando más honor a los miembros que carecían de él,	24 which our presentable parts do not need. God has composed the body so that greater dignity isgiven to the parts which were without it,
25 para que no hubiera división alguna en el cuerpo, sino que todos los miembros se preocuparan lo mismo los unos de los otros.	25 and so that there may not be disagreements inside the body but each part may be equal y concernedfor all the others.
26 Si sufre un miembro, todos los demás sufren con él. Si un miembro es honrado, todos los demás toman parte en su gozo.	26 If one part is hurt, al the parts share its pain. And if one part is honoured, all the parts share its joy.
27 Ahora bien, vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y sus miembros cada uno por su parte.	27 Now Christ's body is yourselves, each of you with a part to play in the whole.
28 Y así los puso Dios en la Iglesia, primeramente como apóstoles; en segundo lugar como profetas; en tercer lugar como maestros; luego, los milagros; luego, el don de las curaciones, de asistencia, de gobierno, diversidad de lenguas.	28 And those whom God has appointed in the Church are, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdlyteachers; after them, miraculous powers, then gifts of healing, helpful acts, guidance, various kinds of tongues.
29 ¿Acaso todos son apóstoles? O ¿todos profetas? ¿Todos maestros? ¿Todos con poder de milagros?	29 Are al of them apostles? Or all prophets? Or all teachers? Or al miracle-workers?
30 ¿Todos con carisma de curaciones? ¿Hablan todos lenguas? ¿Interpretan todos?	30 Do al have the gifts of healing? Do al of them speak in tongues and al interpret them?
31 ¡Aspirad a los carismas superiores! Y aun os voy a mostrar un camino más excelente.	31 Set your mind on the higher gifts. And now I am going to put before you the best way of all.
