Canticum. Psalmus. David. | 1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. |
Paratum cor meum, Deus, paratum cor meum, cantabo et psallam. Euge, gloria mea! | 2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. |
Exsurge, psalterium et cithara, excitabo auroram. | 3 I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. |
Confitebor tibi in populis, Domine, et psallam tibi in nationibus, | 4 For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. |
quia magna est usque ad caelos misericordia tua, et usque ad nubes veritas tua. | 5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth; |
Exaltare super caelos, Deus, et super omnem terram gloria tua. | 6 That thy beloved may be delivered: save with thy right hand, and answer me. |
Ut liberentur dilecti tui, salvum fac dextera tua et exaudi me. | 7 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. |
Deus locutus est in sancto suo: “ Exsultabo et dividam Sichimam et convallem Succoth dimetiar; | 8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; |
meus est Galaad, et meus est Manasses, et Ephraim fortitudo capitis mei, Iuda sceptrum meum. | 9 Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph. |
Moab lebes lavacri mei; super Idumaeam extendam calceamentum meum, super Philistaeam vociferabor ”. | 10 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? |
Quis deducet me in civitatem munitam? Quis deducet me usque in Idumaeam?. | 11 Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts? |
Nonne, Deus, qui reppulisti nos? Et non exibis, Deus, in virtutibus nostris? | 12 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. |
Da nobis auxilium de tribulatione, quia vana salus hominis. | 13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. |
In Deo faciemus virtutem, et ipse conculcabit inimicos nostros. |
