Exodus 34

NEW JERUSALEM	Pattloch Bibel
1 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones and come up to me on themountain, and I wil write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.	1 Der Herr sprach zu Moses: "Haue dir zwei Steintafeln zurecht, wie die ersten waren; auf diese Tafeln schreibe ich die Worte, die auf den ersten Tafeln standen, die du zertrümmert hast.
2 Be ready at dawn; at dawn come up Mount Sinai and wait for me there at the top of the mountain.	2 Halte dich für morgen früh bereit! Steige am Morgen auf den Berg Sinai und tritt dort vor mich hin auf der Spitze des Berges!
3 No one may come up with you, no one may be seen anywhere on the mountain; the flocks and herdsmay not even graze in front of this mountain.'	3 Niemand darf mit dir hinaufsteigen und auf dem ganzen Berge sich zeigen; auch Kleinvieh und Großvieh darf gegen diesen Berg hin nicht weiden!"
4 So he cut two tablets of stone like the first and, with the two tablets of stone in his hands, Moses wentup Mount Sinai in the early morning as Yahweh had ordered.	4 Da hieb er sich zwei Steintafeln nach der Art der ersten zurecht. Er machte sich am andern Morgen in der Frühe auf und bestieg den Sinai nach des Herrn Befehl. Die beiden Steintafeln nahm er mit.
5 And Yahweh descended in a cloud and stood with him there and pronounced the name Yahweh.	5 Da kam der Herr in der Wolke herab. Moses stellte sich dort bei ihm auf und rief den Namen des Herrn an.
6 Then Yahweh passed before him and cal ed out, 'Yahweh, Yahweh, God of tenderness andcompassion, slow to anger, rich in faithful love and constancy,	6 Da zog der Herr an ihm vorüber und rief: "Der Herr, der Herr, ein barmherziger und gütiger Gott, langmütig, reich an Huld und Treue!
7 maintaining his faithful love to thousands, forgiving fault, crime and sin, yet letting nothing gounchecked, and punishing the parent's fault in the children and in the grandchildren to the third and fourthgeneration!'	7 Huld bewahrt er den Tausenden! Schuld, Frevel und Sünde vergibt er; er läßt sie aber nicht ungestraft, indem er die Schuld der Väter an den Kindern und Kindeskindern bis ins dritte und vierte Geschlecht nachprüft!"
8 Moses immediately bowed to the ground in worship,	8 Eilends beugte sich Moses zur Erde, betete voll Ehrfurcht an
9 then he said, 'If indeed I do enjoy your favour, please, my Lord, come with us, although they are anobstinate people; and forgive our faults and sins, and adopt us as your heritage.'	9 und sprach: "Wenn ich wirklich in deinen Augen Gnade gefunden habe, o Herr, so möge doch der Herr in unserer Mitte ziehen! Ein halsstarriges Volk sind sie zwar, doch vergib uns unsere Schuld und Sünde und nimm uns als dein Eigentum an!"
10 He then said, 'Look, I am now making a covenant: I shal work such wonders at the head of yourwhole people as have never been worked in any other country or nation, and all the people round you wil seewhat Yahweh can do, for what I shal do through you wil be awe-inspiring.	10 Er entgegnete: "Siehe, ich schließe einen Bund! Vor deinem ganzen Volk will ich Wunder vollbringen, wie sie auf der ganzen Erde und unter allen Völkern nicht geschehen sind. Dann soll das ganze Volk, in dessen Mitte du lebst, das Wirken des Herrn sehen; denn erschütternd ist, was ich an dir tun werde.
11 Mark, then, what I command you today. I am going to drive out the Amorites, the Canaanites, theHittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites before you.	11 Beachte genau, was ich dir heute gebiete: Siehe, ich vertreibe vor dir die Amoriter, Kanaaniter, Hethiter, Perissiter, Hiwwiter und Jebusiter!
12 Take care you make no pact with the inhabitants of the country which you are about to enter, or theywil prove a snare in your community.	12 Hüte dich davor, einen Bund mit den Landesbewohnern einzugehen, in deren Gebiet du kommst, sonst könnten sie dir in deiner Mitte zum Fallstrick werden!
13 You wil tear down their altars, smash their cultic stones and cut down their sacred poles,	13 Ihr sollt ihre Altäre niederreißen, ihre Weihesteine zertrümmern und ihre Kultpfähle umhauen!
14 for you wil worship no other god, since Yahweh's name is the Jealous One; he is a jealous God.	14 (I.) Denn du sollst keinen fremden Gott anbeten! Der Herr heißt nämlich "Eifersüchtiger" und ist ein eifernder Gott.
15 Make no pact with the inhabitants of the country or, when they prostitute themselves to their owngods and sacrifice to them, they wil invite you and you wil partake of their sacrifice,	15 Darum darfst du mit den Landesbewohnern keinen Bund schließen. Sie treiben ja hinter ihren Göttern her Unzucht und opfern ihnen und laden auch dich dazu ein, daß du von ihrem Opfermahl genießt.
16 and then you wil choose wives for your sons from among their daughters, and their daughters,prostituting themselves to their own gods, wil induce your sons to prostitute themselves to their gods.	16 Aus ihren Töchtern darfst du für deine Söhne keine Frauen nehmen; denn diese buhlen hinter ihren Göttern her und bringen auch deine Söhne dazu, hinter ihren Göttern her Unzucht zu treiben.
17 'You wil not cast metal gods for yourself.	17 (II.) Du sollst dir keinen Gott aus Gußmetall machen!
18 'You wil observe the feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you wil eat unleavened bread, as Ihave commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in the month of Abib you came out ofEgypt.	18 (III.) Das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote sollst du halten! Sieben Tage lang sollst du ungesäuerte Brote essen, wie ich dir befohlen habe, zur Zeit des Monats Abib; denn im Monat Abib bist du aus Ägypten ausgezogen.
19 'Al that first issues from the womb belongs to me: every male, every first-born of flock or herd.	19 (IV.) Alle Erstgeburt gehört mir; von deinem ganzen Viehbestand die männliche Erstgeburt vom Rind und Schaf.
20 But the first-born donkey you wil redeem with an animal from the flock; if you do not redeem it, youmust break its neck. Al the first-born of your sons you will redeem, and no one wil appear before me empty-handed.	20 Den Erstlingswurf vom Esel sollst du gegen ein Schaf auslösen; wenn du ihn aber nicht auslösen willst, so mußt du ihm das Genick brechen! Die Erstgeburt deiner Söhne sollst du auslösen; niemand soll vor mir mit leeren Händen erscheinen!
21 'For six days you wil labour, but on the seventh day you wil rest; you wil stop work even duringploughing and harvesting.	21 (V.) Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten, aber am siebten Tage sollst du ruhen! Selbst in der Zeit des Pflügens und Erntens sollst du ruhen!
22 'You wil observe the feast of Weeks, of the first-fruits of the wheat harvest, and the feast ofIngathering at the close of the year.	22 Auch das Wochenfest sollst du feiern zur Zeit der Erstlinge der Weizenernte und das Fest der Lese an der Jahreswende!
23 'Three times a year al your menfolk wil appear before Lord Yahweh, God of Israel,	23 (VI.) Dreimal im Jahre soll alles Männliche unter dir vor Gott dem Herrn, Israels Gott, erscheinen!
24 for I shal dispossess the nations before you and extend your frontiers, and no one wil set his hearton your territory when you go away to appear before Yahweh your God three times a year.	24 Denn ich will Völker vor dir vertreiben und deine Grenzen erweitern, und niemand soll dein Land begehren, während du hinaufziehst, um dreimal im Jahr vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, zu erscheinen.
25 'You wil not offer the blood of my sacrificial victim with leavened bread, nor is the victim offered atthe feast of Passover to be left until the fol owing day.	25 (VII.) Du sollst mein Opferblut nicht zusammen mit gesäuertem Brot darbringen! (VIII.) Das Opfer des Osterfestes soll bis zum andern Morgen nicht mehr da sein!
26 'You wil bring the best of the first-fruits of your soil to the house of Yahweh your God. 'You wil notboil a kid in its mother's milk.'	26 (IX.) Das Beste von den Erstlingen deines Ackers sollst du zum Hause des Herrn, deines Gottes, bringen! (X.) Du sollst ein Böcklein nicht in der Milch seiner Mutter kochen!"
27 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Put these words in writing, for they are the terms of the covenant whichI have made with you and with Israel.'	27 Der Herr sprach zu Moses: "Schreibe dir diese Worte auf! Denn auf Grund dieser Worte schließe ich mit dir und Israel einen Bund."
28 He stayed there with Yahweh for forty days and forty nights, eating and drinking nothing, and on thetablets he wrote the words of the covenant -- the Ten Words.	28 Vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte war er dort beim Herrn; er aß kein Brot und trank kein Wasser. Er schrieb auf die Tafeln die Bundesworte, die zehn Gebote.
29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, as hewas coming down the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face was radiant because he had beentalking to him.	29 Moses stieg vom Berge Sinai herab, und die beiden Gesetzestafeln waren beim Abstieg vom Berge in seiner Hand. Moses aber wußte nicht, daß seine Gesichtshaut durch die Unterredung mit Gott strahlend geworden war.
30 And when Aaron and al the Israelites saw Moses, the skin on his face was so radiant that they wereafraid to go near him.	30 Aaron und die Israeliten sahen, wie seine Gesichtshaut strahlend geworden war. Sie fürchteten sich daher, ihm zu nahen.
31 But Moses called to them, and Aaron and al the leaders of the community rejoined him, and Mosestalked to them,	31 Moses aber rief ihnen zu; da kamen Aaron und alle Fürsten der Gemeinde zurück, und Moses redete mit ihnen.
32 after which al the Israelites came closer, and he passed on to them al the orders that Yahweh hadgiven to him on Mount Sinai.	32 Danach kamen auch alle übrigen Israeliten näher heran; er richtete an sie alle Befehle aus, die der Herr ihm auf dem Berge Sinai gegeben hatte.
33 Once Moses had finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face.	33 Moses führte das Gespräch mit ihnen zu Ende. Darauf legte er eine Hülle über sein Gesicht.
34 Whenever Moses went into Yahweh's presence to speak with him, he took the veil off until he cameout. And when he came out, he would tel the Israelites what orders he had been given,	34 Wenn Moses zur Unterredung vor den Herrn trat, nahm er die Hülle bis zu seinem Fortgehen wieder ab. Er ging dann hinaus und redete zu den Israeliten, was ihm aufgetragen worden war.
35 and the Israelites would see Moses' face radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his faceuntil he went in to speak to him next time.	35 Sobald nun die Israeliten sahen, daß die Gesichtshaut des Moses strahlte, legte Moses wiederum die Hülle vor sein Antlitz, bis er von neuem zur Unterredung vor den Herrn trat.
