1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.	1 Disse também a seus discípulos; "Um homem rico tinha um feitor, que foi acusado diante dele de ter dissipado os seus bens.
2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.	2 Chamou-o, e disse-lhe : Que é isto que ouço dizer de ti? Dá conta da tua administração; não mais poderás ser meu feitor,
3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.	3 Então o feitor disse consigo: Que farei, visto que o meu senhor me tira a administração? Cavar não posso, de mendigar tenho vergonha.
4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.	4 Já sei o que hei-de fazer, para que, quando for removido da administração, haja quem me receba em sua casa.
5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?	5 Tendo chamado cada um dos devedores do seu senhor, disse ao primeiro: Quanto deves ao meu senhor?
6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.	6 Ele respondeu: Cem cados de azeite. Então disse-lhe : Tom a a tua caução, senta-te e escreve depressa cinquenta.
7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.	7 Depois disse a outro: Tu quanto deves? Ele respondeu: Cem medidas de trigo. Disse-lhe o feitor: Tom a a tua caução e escreve oitenta.
8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.	8 E o senhor louvou o feitor iníquio, por ter procedido sagazmente. Porque os filhos deste século são mais hábeis no trato com os seus semelhantes que os filhos da luz.
9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.	9 Portanto eu vos digo: Granjeai amigos com as riquezas da iniquidade, para que, quando vierdes a precisar, vos recebam nos tabernáculos eternos.
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.	10 O que é fiel no pouco, também é fiel no muito; e o que é injusto no pouco, também é injusto no muito.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?	11 Se, pois, vós não fostes fiéis nas riquezas iníquas, quem fiará de vós as verdadeiras?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?	12 E se vós não fostes fiéis no alheio, quem vos dará o que é vosso?
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.	13 Nenhum servo pode servir a dois senhores, porque ou odiará um, e amará o outro, ou se afeiçoará a um, e desprezará o outro. Não podeis servir Deus e o dinheiro."
14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.	14 Ora os fariseus, que eram amigos do dinheiro, ouviam todas estas coisas, e zombavam dele.
15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.	15 Jesus disse-lhes: "Vós sois aqueles que pretendeis passar por justos diante dos homens, mas Deus conhece os vossos corações; o que é excelente segundo os homens, é abominação diante de Deus.
16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.	16 A lei e os profetas duraram até João; desde então é anunciado o reino de Deus, e todos se esforçam por entrar nele pela violência.
17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.	17 Ora é mais fácil passar o céu e a terra, do que perder-se um til da lei.
18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.	18 Todo o que repudia sua mulher, e toma outra, comete adultério ; e o que casa com a que foi repudiada por seu marido, comete adultério.
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:	19 Havia um homem rico, que se vestia de púrpura e de linho fino, e todos os dias se banqueteava esplêndidamente.
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,	20 Havia também um mendigo, chamado Lázaro, que, coberto de chagas, estava deitado à sua porta,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.	21 desejando saciar-se com as migalhas que caiam da mesa do rico... e até os cães vinham lamber-Ihe as chagas.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;	22 Sucedeu morrer o mendigo, e foi levado pelos anjos ao seio de Abraão. Morreu também o rico, e foi sepultado.
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.	23 Quando estava nos tormentos do inferno, levantando os olhos, viu ao longe Abraão, e Lázaro no seu seio.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.	24 Então exclamou; Pai Abraão, compadece-te de mim, e manda Lázaro que molhe em água a ponta do seu dedo, para refrescar a minha língua, pois sou atormentado nesta chama.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.	25 Abraão disse-lhe: Filho, lembra-te que recebeste os teus bens em tua vida, e Lázaro, ao contrário, recebeu males; por isso ele é agora consolado, e tu és atormentado.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.	26 Além disso, há entre nós e vós um grande abismo; de maneira que os que querem passar daqui para vós, não podem, nem os daí podem passar para nós.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:	27 O rico disse: Rogo-te, pois, ó pai, que o mandes à minha casa paterna,
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.	28 pois tenho cinco irmãos, para que os advirta disto, e não suceda virem também eles parar a este lugar de tormentos.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.	29 Abraão disse-lhe: Têm Moisés e os profetas; ouçam-nos.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.	30 Ele, porém, disse: Não basta isso pai Abraão, mas, se algum dos mortos for ter com eles, farão penitência.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.	31 Ele disse-Ihe: Se não ouvem Moisés e os profetas, tão-pouco acreditarão, ainda que ressuscitasse algum dos mortos."
