1 El número de los israelitas –incluyendo los jefes de familia, los jefes de mil y cien hombres y los oficiales que servían al rey en lo referente a las divisiones que entraban y salían de servicio cada mes, a lo largo de todo el año– era de 24.000 hombres por cada división.	1 This is the list of the people of Israel, the heads of fathers' houses, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters concerning the divisions that came and went, month after month throughout the year, each division numbering twenty-four thousand:
2 Al frente de la primera división, la del primer mes, estaba Iasobam, hijo de Zabdiel: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	2 Jashobeam the son of Zabdi-el was in charge of the first division in the first month; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
3 El pertenecía a la familia de Peres y era el jefe de todos los oficiales del primer mes.	3 He was a descendant of Perez, and was chief of all the commanders of the army for the first month.
4 Al frente de la división del segundo mes estaba Dodai, el ajojita: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	4 Dodai the Ahohite was in charge of the division of the second month; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
5 El jefe del tercer regimiento, el del tercer mes, era Benaías, hijo del sacerdote Iehoiadá: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	5 The third commander, for the third month, was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest, as chief; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
6 Benaías era uno de los Treinta guerreros y se hallaba al frente de ellos; en su división estaba también su hijo Amizabad.	6 This is the Benaiah who was a mighty man of the thirty and in command of the thirty; Ammizabad his son was in charge of his division.
7 El cuarto, el del cuarto mes, era Asahel, hermano de Joab, y le sucedió su hijo Zebadías: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	7 Asahel the brother of Joab was fourth, for the fourth month, and his son Zebadiah after him; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
8 El quinto jefe, el del quinto mes, era Samhut, el izrajita: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	8 The fifth commander, for the fifth month, was Shamhuth, the Izrahite; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
9 El sexto, el del sexto mes, era Irá, hijo de Iqués, el tecoíta: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	9 Sixth, for the sixth month, was Ira, the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
10 El séptimo, el del séptimo mes, era Jeles, el pelonita, de los descendientes de Efraím: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	10 Seventh, for the seventh month, was Helez the Pelonite, of the sons of Ephraim; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
11 El octavo, el del octavo mes, era Sibecai, de Jusá, de los zarjitas: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	11 Eighth, for the eighth month, was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
12 El noveno, el del noveno mes, era Abiézer, de Anatot, de los benjaminitas: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	12 Ninth, for the ninth month, was Abi-ezer of Anathoth, a Benjaminite; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
13 El décimo, el del décimo mes, era Maharai, de Netofá, de los zarjitas: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	13 Tenth, for the tenth month, was Maharai of Netophah, of the Zerahites; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
14 El undécimo, el del undécimo mes, era Benaías, de Pireatón, de los descendientes de Efraím: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	14 Eleventh, for the eleventh month, was Benaiah of Pirathon, of the sons of Ephraim; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
15 El duodécimo, el del duodécimo mes, era Jeldai, de Netofá, de la estirpe de Otniel: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.	15 Twelfth, for the twelfth month, was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othni-el; in his division were twenty-four thousand.
16 Los jefes que estaban al frente de las tribus de Israel fueron los siguientes: De Rubén: Eliezer, hijo de Zicrí. De Simeón: Sefatías, hijo de Maacá.	16 Over the tribes of Israel, for the Reubenites Eliezer the son of Zichri was chief officer; for the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maacah;
17 De Leví: Jasabías, hijo de Quemuel. De Aarón: Sadoc.	17 for Levi, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel; for Aaron, Zadok;
18 De Judá: Elihú, uno de los hermanos de David. De Isacar: Omrí, hijo de Micael.	18 for Judah, Elihu, one of David's brothers; for Issachar, Omri the son of Michael;
19 De Zabulón: Ismaías, hijo de Abdías. De Neftalí: Ierimot, hijo de Azriel.	19 for Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah; for Naphtali, Jeremoth the son of Azriel;
20 De los descendientes de Efraím: Oseas, hijo de Azazías. De la mitad de la tribu de Manasés: Joel, hijo de Pedaías.	20 for the Ephraimites, Hoshea the son of Azaziah; for the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah;

22 De Dan: Azarel, hijo de Ierojam. Estos eran los jefes de las tribus de Israel.	22 for Dan, Azarel the son of Jeroham. These were the leaders of the tribes of Israel.
23 David no hizo el censo de los que tenían menos de veinte años, porque el Señor le había prometido que multiplicaría a Israel como las estrellas del cielo.	23 David did not number those below twenty years of age, for the LORD had promised to make Israel as many as the stars of heaven.
24 Joab, hijo de Seruiá, había comenzado a hacer el censo, pero no lo terminó, porque a causa de él, la ira del Señor se descargó sobre Israel. Por eso el resultado del censo no figura en el libro de las Crónicas del rey David.	24 Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but did not finish; yet wrath came upon Israel for this, and the number was not entered in the chronicles of King David.
25 Azmávet, hijo de Adiel, era el encargado de los tesoros del rey. Jonatán, hijo de Uzías, el encargado de los depósitos de los campos, de las ciudades, de los poblados y de las fortalezas.	25 Over the king's treasuries was Azmaveth the son of Adi-el; and over the treasuries in the country, in the cities, in the villages and in the towers, was Jonathan the son of Uzziah;
26 Ezrí, hijo de Quelub, el encargado de los agricultores que trabajaban las tierras.	26 and over those who did the work of the field for tilling the soil was Ezri the son of Chelub;
27 Simei, de Ramá, el encargado de las viñas. Sabdí, de Ramá, el encargado de las viñas. Sabdí, el sifmita, el encargado del producto de las viñas y de las bodegas.	27 and over the vineyards was Shime-i the Ramathite; and over the produce of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite.
28 Baal Janán, de Guéder, el encargado de los olivares y los sicomoros de la Sefelá. Joás, el encargado de los depósitos de aceite.	28 Over the olive and sycamore trees in the Shephelah was Baal-hanan the Gederite; and over the stores of oil was Joash.
29 Sitrai, de Sarón, el encargado del ganado vacuno que pastaba en Sarón. Safat, hijo de Adlai, el encargado del ganado vacuno de los valles.	29 Over the herds that pastured in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite; over the herds in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai.
30 Obil, el ismaelita, el encargado de los camellos. Jejdeías, de Meronot, el encargado de las asnas.	30 Over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite; and over the she-asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite. Over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite.
31 Y Iazíz, de Agar, el encargado del ganado menor. Todos estos eran los encargados de los bienes que pertenecían al rey David.	31 All these were stewards of King David's property.
32 Jonatán, tío de David, hombre prudente e instruido, era consejero. Iejiel, hijo de Iacmoní, era preceptor de los hijos del rey.	32 Jonathan, David's uncle, was a counselor, being a man of understanding and a scribe; he and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni attended the king's sons.
33 Ajitófel era consejero del rey. Jusai, el arquita, era amigo del rey.	33 Ahithophel was the king's counselor, and Hushai the Archite was the king's friend.
34 Los sucesores de Ajitófel fueron Iehoiadá, hijo de Benaías, y Abiatar. Joab era el jefe del ejército real.	34 Ahithophel was succeeded by Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. Joab was commander of the king's army.
