1 (Di David: quando si contraffece davanti ad Achimelec, e, da lui licenziato, se ne andò).	1 Rejoice, you just, in the LORD; praise from the upright is fitting.
2 Benedirò il Signore in ogni tempo, ed avrò sempre la sua lode nella mia bocca.	2 Give thanks to the LORD on the harp; on the ten-stringed lyre offer praise.
3 L'anima mia si glorierà nel Signore: lo sentanogli umili e si rallegrino.	3 Sing to God a new song; skillfully play with joyful chant.
4 Magnificate meco il Signore, esaltiamo insieme il suo nome.	4 For the LORD'S word is true; all his works are trustworthy.
5 Ho cercato il Signore ed Egli m'ha esaudito, m'ha liberato da tutte le mie tribolazioni.	5 The LORD loves justice and right and fills the earth with goodness.
6 Accostatevi a lui e sarete illuminati, e i vostri volti non avran da arrossire.	6 By the LORD'S word the heavens were made; by the breath of his mouth all their host.
7 Questo disgraziato alzò le grida, e il Signore l'esaudì, lo liberò da tutte le sue tribolazioni.	7 The waters of the sea were gathered as in a bowl; in cellars the deep was confined.
8 L'angelo del Signore si slancia intorno a quelli che lo temono e li salva.	8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all who dwell in the world show reverence.
9 Gustate e vedete quanto è soave il Signore! Beato l'uomo che spera in lui!	9 For he spoke, and it came to be, commanded, and it stood in place.
10 Temete il Signore voi tutti, o santi suoi, perchè nulla manca a coloro che lo temono.	10 The LORD foils the plan of nations, frustrates the designs of peoples.
11 I ricchi si trovan nel bisogno e patiscono la fame, ma chi cerca il Signore non è privo d'alcun bene.	11 But the plan of the LORD stands forever, wise designs through all generations.
12 Venite, figli, ascoltatemi: io v'insegnerò il timor del Signore.	12 Happy the nation whose God is the LORD, the people chosen as his very own.
13 Chi è che brama la vita e desidera vedere dei giorni lieti?	13 From heaven the LORD looks down and observes the whole human race,
14 Preserva la tua lingua dal male, e i tuoi labbri non parlino con inganno.	14 Surveying from the royal throne all who dwell on earth.
15 Evita il male e fa il bene, cerca la pace e seguila.	15 The one who fashioned the hearts of them all knows all their works.
16 Gli occhi del Signore sopra i giusti, le sue orecchie sono intente alle loro preghiere.	16 A king is not saved by a mighty army, nor a warrior delivered by great strength.
17 Ma la faccia del Signore è sopra quelli che fanno il male, per disperdere dal mondo la loro memoria.	17 Useless is the horse for safety; its great strength, no sure escape.
18 I giusti alzano le grida, e il Signore li ascolta e li libera da tutte le tribolazioni.	18 But the LORD'S eyes are upon the reverent, upon those who hope for his gracious help,
19 Il Signore sta vicino a quelli che hanno il cuore afflitto, e salva gli umili di spirito.	19 Delivering them from death, keeping them alive in times of famine.
20 Molte le tribolazioni dei giusti, ma da tutte li libera il Signore.	20 Our soul waits for the LORD, who is our help and shield.
21 Egli ha cura di tutti i loro ossi: neppure uno di essi sarà spezzato.	21 For in God our hearts rejoice; in your holy name we trust.
22 La morte dei peccatori è orribile, e quelli che odiano il giusto ne porteran la pena.	22 May your kindness, LORD, be upon us; we have put our hope in you.
23 Il Signore riscatta le anime dei suoi servi: non avran pena tutti quelli che sperano in Lui.
