Amos (عاموس) 6

SMITH VAN DYKE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 ويل للمستريحين في صهيون والمطمئنين في جبل السامرة نقباء اوّل الامم. ياتي اليهم بيت اسرائيل.	1 Disaster for those so comfortable in Zion and for those so confident on the hil of Samaria, the notablesof this first of nations, those to whom the House of Israel has recourse!
2 اعبروا الى كلنة وانظروا واذهبوا من هناك الى حماة العظيمة ثم انزلوا الى جتّ الفلسطينيين. أهي افضل من هذه الممالك ام تخمهم اوسع من تخمكم.	2 Travel to Calneh and look, go on from there to Hamath the great, then go down to Gath in Philistia. Arethey more powerful than these kingdoms? Is their territory larger than yours?
3 انتم الذين تبعدون يوم البلية وتقربون مقعد الظلم	3 Thinking to defer the evil day, you are hastening the reign of violence.
4 المضطجعون على اسرّة من العاج والمتمددون على فرشهم والآكلون خرافا من الغنم وعجولا من وسط الصيرة	4 Lying on ivory beds and sprawling on their divans, they dine on lambs from the flock, and stal -fattened veal;
5 الهاذرون مع صوت الرباب المخترعون لانفسهم آلات الغناء كداود	5 they bawl to the sound of the lyre and, like David, they invent musical instruments;
6 الشاربون من كؤوس الخمر والذين يدهنون بافضل الادهان ولا يغتمّون على انسحاق يوسف.	6 they drink wine by the bowlful, and lard themselves with the finest oils, but for the ruin of Joseph theycare nothing.
7 لذلك الآن يسبون في اول المسبيّين ويزول صياح المتمددين	7 That is why they wil now go into captivity, heading the column of captives. The sprawlers' revelry isover.
8 قد اقسم السيد الرب بنفسه يقول الرب اله الجنود اني اكره عظمة يعقوب وابغض قصوره فاسلّم المدينة وملأها.	8 Lord Yahweh has sworn by his own self -declares Yahweh, God Sabaoth: I detest the pride of Jacob, Ihate his palaces, I shal hand over the city and al in it.
9 فيكون اذا بقي عشرة رجال في بيت واحد انهم يموتون.	9 If ten people are left in a single house, they wil die
10 واذا حمل احدا عمّه ومحرقه ليخرج العظام من البيت وقال لمن هو في جوانب البيت أعندك بعد يقول ليس بعد. فيقول اسكت فانه لا يذكر اسم الرب.	10 and a few will be left to carry the bones from the house, and they will say to anyone deep inside thehouse, 'Any more there?' and he wil answer, 'No.' Then he wil say, 'Hush!-Yahweh's name must not bementioned.'
11 لانه هوذا الرب يأمر فيضرب البيت الكبير ردما والبيت الصغير شقوقا	11 For look, Yahweh gives the command: as he strikes, the great house fal s to pieces and the smalhouse is in fragments.
12 هل تركض الخيل على الصخر او يحرث عليه بالبقر حتى حوّلتم الحق سمّا وثمر البرّ افسنتينا.	12 Can horses gal op over rocks? Can the sea be ploughed with oxen? Yet you have changed justiceinto poison, and the fruit of uprightness into wormwood,
13 انتم الفرحون بالبطل القائلون أليس بقوّتنا اتخذنا لانفسنا قرونا.	13 while rejoicing over Lo-Debar and saying, 'Wasn't it by our own strength that we captured Karnaim?'
14 لاني هانذا اقيم عليكم يا بيت اسرائيل يقول الرب اله الجنود امة فيضايقونكم من مدخل حماة الى وادي العربة	14 But look, House of Israel, against you -declares Yahweh, God Sabaoth- I am raising a nation tooppress you from the Pass of Hamath to the Gorge of the Arabah.
