Livro dos Salmos 63

1 Salmo de Davi, quando se achava no deserto de Judá. Ó Deus, vós sois o meu Deus, com ardor vos procuro. Minha alma está sedenta de vós, e minha carne por vós anela como a terra árida e sequiosa, sem água.	1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David.
2 Quero vos contemplar no santuário, para ver vosso poder e vossa glória.	2 Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy.
3 Porque vossa graça me é mais preciosa do que a vida, meus lábios entoarão vossos louvores.	3 You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity.
4 Assim vos bendirei em toda a minha vida, com minhas mãos erguidas vosso nome adorarei.	4 For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing,
5 Minha alma saciada como de fino manjar, com exultante alegria meus lábios vos louvarão.	5 so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate.
6 Quando, no leito, me vem vossa lembrança, passo a noite toda pensando em vós.	6 They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?”
7 Porque vós sois o meu apoio, exulto de alegria, à sombra de vossas asas.	7 They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart,
8 Minha alma está unida a vós, sustenta-me a vossa destra.	8 and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds,
9 Quanto aos que me procuram perder, cairão nas profundezas dos abismos,	9 and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled;
10 serão passados a fio de espada, e se tornarão pasto dos chacais.	10 and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts.
11 O rei, porém, se alegrará em Deus. Será glorificado todo o que jurar pelo seu nome, enquanto aos mendazes lhes será tapada a boca.	11 The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised.
